Same Day Service Company Inc

I've been using Same Day Service for a number of years. They are very fast, the workmen are knowledgeable and I find their pricing policies very fair. The broiler was not working and also, the light switch in the fridge was broken. The repairman came the same day I called and told me that it would cost $209 to replace the light switch in the fridge, and so I decided to skip that repair. He determined that the broiler element worked, but that the relay board needed replacing. He explained that if that did not fix the problem, then the issue was with the second computer board. Unfortunately, that second board is no longer being manufactured. He said if he came back and replaced the relay board and it did not solve the problem, they would not charge me for the relay board repair. Luckily, when another technician came a few days later and replaced the relay board, that fixed the problem. And, when I happened to mention the switch in the fridge, he fixed it without charging me. (I hope I don't get him in trouble! He said the $209 charge was what it would be if they came out just to fix the fridge, and since I was having another expensive repair at the same time, since I had been a loyal customer, and since the switch actually only cost a few bucks, he would fix it for free.)

I can't say enough good things about they guys. Before they came out to inspect the oven, I spent about 15 minutes on the phone with a technician who was able to diagnose the problem and order the part before they came out to the house - saving me a trip fee. The broken part came in a few days and they were out to fix in the next day. While the service man was at my home, I explained some other minor issues I was having with my stove top and other oven - and because they were minor fixes - he fixed them at no additional cost. Can't beat that!!! He was very professional and helpful with hints of how to keep my appliances in top working order. I am lucky to have found them!!

Same Day Service Company Inc is good. They have always had professional and friendly service people. We have also used them in the past to repair our sub-zero freezer. The quality of the work done was excellent. I never got a quote from anybody else so I cant say much about their price. I would use them again in the future if needed.

Our clothes washer was making odd noises and seemed to not be functioning. We first called a different company and the repairman who came out seemed completely baffled. He concluded he couldn't fix it, but we didn't trust his diagnosis since he was so obviously confused. We called Same Day Service to get a second opinion. They were incredibly professional from start to finish, arrived promptly, and knew exactly what they were doing. The repairman recognized the problem immediately, explained what a repair would involve and why it was not my best option, and even gave me very helpful advice on what to look for in a replacement machine. I would call these guys again without hesitation.

Great! I should have been able to do this, but for ~$80, it was fixed asap & I don't need to worry about it anymore. Also, this could have been a prime opportunity to price gouge & there was none of that. Very nice, professional technician. Definitely plan on using them again. Thanks SDS!

Steve came on time and found the problem (Semper Fi) part was not instock so he order it and it was installed on the second trip on a Saturday morning.

Overall, the Same Day Service technician did a great job. I called the day before the service and got an appointment for the following day, a miracle in itself these days. The technician, whose name I regret not remembering, arrived on time, understood the problem right away and got to work. He repaired the broken heating coil and some burned out wiring, vacuumed up all the lint inside the machine, installed a new galvanized vent coming out of the back of the dryer so that it fed directly into the outgoing flue - a shorter and more direct route and less likely to clog with lint, and also replaced the old fan belt that turns the drum. To do this required moving the washer and a fair amount of additional work. It took him close to two hours. The dryer works perfectly now. Based on this experience, I would definitely use SDS again and would highly recommend them.

The price was fair for what he did. He was very professional, punctual and honest. He did try to do anything that was not needed to be done.

I'd highly recommend Same Day Service, they did a very good job. They really knew what they were doing which I think made a difference as well. The price was a little high but that was because of the parts.

The tech was friendly and polite. He brought in his own towel to wipe his feet at the door. He had the needed parts on the truck to fix the problem (at least the one that I knew about) in one visit. I would recommend them to anyone!!!!

They showed up within 1/2 hour of when I called them. They gave me options of just a service call or the repair. The washer is 16 years old. It went really well. They were incredible. He offered unsolicited advise about the stove as well, which to me was above and beyond the service.

His suggestion was good, but they might have told me that in advance and not hit me with $85 for the service call. One of their competitors did tell me that, for free. I appreciated that.

No heat from gas dryer. Called Same-Day service Sat (New Year's day) and they said they could come out Monday. They called ahead 30 mins to let me know, which made it very convenient for me to miss minimal work time. The technician (Bruce) came out right when I expected and spent 1/2 hour taking the dryer apart to diagnose the problem. He correctly diagnosed it as blown thermal safety device, which he explained is used to shut off the heat when the vent is blocked to prevent dryer fire. He replaced it, delinted the inside of the dryer, and installed a rigit hose and vent, which he said is much safer than the metal foil, flexible hose that I had. He tested everything to make sure that it works. The thing that I liked so much about Bruce was that he spent a lot of time explaining to me how the washer and dryer work and how to maintain them (especially how to clean out the lint from the hose/vent to prevent blockage, which leads to dryer failure and/or dryer fire). It is rare that an appliance repairman would spend that much time educating a homeowner, but Bruce did. Before he left, he tested everything to make sure it works, did a great cleanup job (he took away all the trash), and even gave me some tips on how to clean my gas stove top (which wasn't even why he came). Overall, one of the best experiences I have had with an appliance repairman.

It was OK overall. THe service took much longer than I would have liked. IT took 2 weeks as the parts ha to be ordered for the first set of problems then parts had to be ordered another time when the second problem was found. In addition to the fact that I was without a dishwasher over the Christmas holidays, I was disappointed that the first person did not see the whole problem the first time.

On the advice of a neighbor I called Same Day to repair the washing machine and trash compactor I had inherited when I bought a new house. They contracted to come over the following morning and arrived right at the beginning of the promised window of time. Mike promptly repaired the trash compactor and, happily, was also able to fix, in a couple minutes, an oven that had stopped working. (The Thermador repairman could not come for a week.) He told me it would cost $577 for a motherboard for my washer and possibly an additional $236 for a new motor if the motherboard didn't prove sufficient. I questioned whether it was worth it to spend so much on repair a mid-range appliance. He assured me that the washer was a very good one and well worth the repair, so I agreed. After he left, I went online to check how much a new washer like this would cost and found that a new one would cost about the same as the repair--and possibly less if the old one also required a new motor. So I called and canceled the motherboard replacement. Mike was vocally unhappy about that. He eliminated a discount that he had previously given me on the other repair and charged me a hefty "restocking fee" for canceling the motherboard order. Bottom line: I was extremely happy with Same Day's prompt arrival and evident competence. I thought he gave me bad advice on the washer repair, in order to get the business, and I thought the expensive "restocking fee" was entirely inappropriate; I doubt that it cost Same Day a penny to cancel an order for an electronic part. I would use Same Day again because promptness and competence are hard to find in this business, but I would be wary of their willingness to push for business at the expense of balanced judgment about whether an appliance was worth repairing.

I emailed Same Day Service of the problem. They called the next morning and scheduled a repairman for the next day (they would have come the same day but I was not available). Greg came at the time they said, he was very pleasant and professional, did the repair quickly, and left no mess. For the one part that had to be ordered, the same service and professionalism was provided. I was very pleased.

Easy responsive contact. Amazingly the tech brought the required part with him & reall knew what he was doing.

They made sure the appliances were safe and had to repair the dryer. They came as soon as they could come, which ended up on a Sunday. They did not charge me extra even though they came out on a Sunday. They were very neat and polite.

Based on Angie's List reviews I called Same Day Service. Their centralized dispatching service assigned a technician who called ahead to inquire about the problem and discuss the job. He was familiar with the error code and said that most likely the motor would need to be replaced (which matched reports on the internet). He also gave a rough estimate of the likely cost and discussed scheduling. The technician ordered a new motor ahead to save a trip and came to install it during the time window he promised. He replaced the motor quickly and without leaving any mess. All told (including the time for the motor to come in) the dishwasher was down for a bit more than a week and a half which seems reasonable given that a part needed to be ordered. The repair may have been a little on the pricey side but I have no complaints since the dishwasher itself was fairly expensive and the repair was done quickly and efficiently with no hassles.

We had a leak from our dishwasher and a bad smell (motor overheating). We also had an issue with the lighter on our range top. We called SDS Friday night (after hours), they called us back Saturday morning (9ish) and we had Jeff at our house by 10:30am. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He got to work immediately, and quickly diagnosed the dishwasher problem as overflow inside due to excessive soap/suds (I know this is a typical problem these days -- we're guilty). He cleared out the standing water from inside/under the unit and gave us recommendations for soaps that would not cause the problem and lots of other practical, useful advice. He also figured out the problem with the range top and helped us deal with it. There were repairs he mentioned that were more thorough than necessary (and much more expensive), but advised they were possibly not worth the expense and never pushed for the extra work. We were very happy with Jeff's work, responsiveness, candor, and knowledgeability.
