Good housecall, different tech this time, "merki tech 56"--? Nice, easy to talk to, and good at his job. Then we've had at least 3 visits for the icemaker since September, all from Mike, who is unfailingly nice, competent, and takes time to indulge our youngest male cat, who idolizes Men With Tools. I should write reports on this firm more often, since we need them often, and I'm very satisfied with them. You call a central number, you talk to someone who's helpful arranging the appointment, the techs come when they're supposed to and are always good at doing what they do. I only wish they did more appliances. There's this d*** humidifeir in the basement....

They came right out. The guy was very nice. They got the service done and did a great job.

If they are going to charge me a couple hundred dollars for repairs, I should get more of a guarantee on the work that is being done. They should guarantee me that the oven is going to work and not charge me in the hopes that the problem will go away. Every time they come out they are experimenting with new parts, and I am paying for it. The guy is friendly, and they are easy to schedule but I am not getting guaranteed work.

Our dishwasher filled with water and flooded the kitchen and leaked through the ceiling of the room below it. We called a plumber to come. He told us that the fault was with the appliance, not our plumbing, so he couldn't fix it. We're new to the area and didn't know who to call. I immediately went to Angie's List to find an appliance repair service. The first one I saw was Same Day Service. We needed help fast and they were highly rated. I called on a Friday afternoon and they said they'd send someone by noon on Saturday (yes, they work Saturdays - at no extra charge) and would call a half hour before they were coming. Sure enough, we got a call early next morning. Well, I can only second all the raves recorded for this company - particularly for our repairman, Kim, whose name I remembered from some comments I read. Kim came in, explained that he suspected what the problem was but was going to do a thorough check first and then give his recommendations and cost to fix. Kim was pleasant, professional, personable, knowledgeable and thorough. He assessed the problem and gave us the price. He even had the part in his truck so he was able to do the necessary repair then and there. I would say the price was fair and reasonable - and the 10% discount through Angie's List was an added bonus. I can't say enough about the quality and promptness of service or about how impressed I was with Kim. Thank you Same Day Service and Kim! I will certainly use them again and I highly recommend them.

I have a DCS commercial stove that needed all 6 burners replaced. Same Day Service(SDS) came and gave an estimate. After we decided to have the work done we called SDS fto order the parts. SDS called a few days later to say the parts were in and they scheduled an appointment. The service man was prompt and on time but discovered that one of the parts was incorrect(he admitted that he did not check the parts before coming but should have). The correct parts were ordered and another appointment was made. Again the service man was prompt and on time. The repairs were done and everything seems to be working well so far. SDS guarantees the parts for 5 years and labor for 90 days. Although this was a very expensive repair I don't think it is the fault of SDS but the fault of the manufacturer taking advantage of exclusiveness. These parts are not available any place else but from them(DCS). My advice, do not buy any DCS products.

The technician explained to me what was going on and what he was doing. What a charming man! He was fast and personable, obviously very knowledgeable. I would absolutely use this provider again. Their rating is excellent because they deserve it based on my exprience.

Kim showed up the same day we called them, diagnosed a problem with the broiler element and sensor and came back a day later with the new part, in time for us to make Christmas dinner. Basically, Same Day Service saved our Christmas! Was very impressed with thier knowledge of all our applicances (we just moved into the home and appreciated how after fixing the stove Kim gave us a "tour" of our other appliances, explaining their age and likely lifetime and which ones would be better to fix and which to replace), and how fast and professionally they worked. The price was very reasonable, particularly considering the speed of the service. One more tiny detail that points to how well organized they are: when they scheduled their return after ordering the parts, they gave us a 4 hour window in which they'd show up. The night before, they called and reduced that to a two hour window - that's the first time I've ever seen a company do something like that - it was very appreciated and made it easier to plan the day!

My washing machine was leaking. From a previous repair I knew the washer was on its last legs. I did not know if the leaking was the same problem. The service man called with the history of my washer and knew it was the same problem. The repair would have been almost as expensive as buying a new machine. I opted for the new machine. Biut will always call Same Day Service with any problems.

Based on other reports on Angie's List, I contacted Same Day Service about my dead dishwasher. Service was scheduled, technician was prompt and professional. He helped me with the pros and cons of repairing a 6 yr. old dishwasher. After pricing and ordering the part, obviously not in stock, we scheduled the installation. For the next appt., the technician was again prompt and professional. My dishwasher is working perfectly. All in all, a successful service and repair.

The washer was making a funny sound when we used it. We saw a Big Deal coupon for Same Day Service company and bought it. We submitted a email request late Sunday night. On Monday morning before 9, I got a voicemail from the company. I called her back around 9:30 or so and she asked me a few questions, including when I was available and reminded me that they will call prior to arriving and so I needed to pick up my phone. She also told me it costs $79.00 as a service charge if they come out and tell you what is wrong and you don't repair it with them. So, once you have them, I felt like I needed to use them, which I was initially wary about it, but we had the coupon, so we figured what the heck. At 11:30 the tech called and let me know he was 30 minutes away. About 25 minutes later, he pulled up. He was very knowledgeable, performed a diagnostic, called it in and got a price. He quoted me $287. I asked about if it was still under warranty and he nicely offered to wait while I checked the owner's manual and said that he thought there was a foreign object in the washer, which typically voids the warranty. He also politely waited while I contacted my spouse to ask about the warranty and the cost. We went ahead with the repair (b/c we were no longer under warranty) and sure enough, he pulled out 2 coins that had clearly been banging around in there for awhile. He showed me the old drain pump, compared it to the new one he was putting in and was done in approximately 20 minutes. The repair has a 5 year parts and labor warranty...even if there is another coin in there. He also answered some of my other questions and didn't try to pitch me anything, just asked if there was anything else he could help with. While the price was a bit high, it was great customer service...same day service, knowledgeable and uniformed tech who performed the repair quickly and professionally.

I have a gas range/oven. In early August I detected the smell of gas in my kitchen and contacted the gas company. They immediately came out and determined the leak was coming from the oven. There is a part that controls the flow of gas when the oven is turned on and off. Because of the way it functions, this part sometimes warps and small amounts of gas can leak when the oven is off. The gas company turned off the gas to my stove and I began looking for someone to service the oven. After researching alternatives on Angie's list, I contacted Same Day. I spoke with a customer service rep who referred me to the manager on duty. He suggested I have a plumber check the gas connection before they replaced the part so I could be sure it was the part and I did not spend money on an unnecessary repair. After having my plumber check the connection and determine that was sound, I called Same Day back. They promptly ordered the part and agreed to contact me when the part came in. It did take over a week for the part to arrive, but they called as soon as it was in. We then scheduled the service for the first day I was available. The technician arrived promptly that day, kept me informed throughout the repair process and performed the repair quickly and efficiently. I used an Angie's list coupon and feel I paid a very fair price for the part and the repair. I appreciated how Same Day worked with me to make sure the repair was necessary. Their professionalism was outstanding.

I had a tech come out and look at my washer and he told me I needed to replace the ball bearing, when I called Same Day Service Company to tell them that I what I needed done, they told me that the problem was not the ball bearing & that I would have to replace the entire outer plastic tub and it would be $750. I had Sears come out and they determined it was the ball bearing and fixed it for significantly less.

Same Day Service was prompt, courteous and efficient. The hinge was repaired and the door works like new. I would definitely use the again for another appliance repair.

I emailed Same Day Service the morning of 12/26, I received a call early afternoon, my dryer was fixed by 4:30 pm. He detailed the problems. Gave me the cost. Had all the parts in his truck. Plus I got 10% OFF because I went thru Angie list ( Thanks Angies list) He was fast and professional. I would use this company again.

Came same day and repaired refirgierator. called ahead, Troubleshot problem and had needed part on truck.

We came home from an overnight family gathering Sunday evening. When we opened the freezer of our refrigerator we heard a loud sound like water hitting a very hot coil. We felt the back of the unit and it was warm. I discovered that 2 years ago units similar to ours had over a million recalled due to overheating and fire hazard. We unplugged it immediately. First thing in the morning i called Same Day Service Company to schedule an appointment. The woman asked several questions and told me I would get a call 30 min before a tech came. shortly after that the phone rang and it was the tech. He said he had more questions. Then he explained to me that what I heard was NORMAL! That self defrosting refrigerators turn n a heater about every 12 hours and melt away the ice. I asked a lot of questions to be sure. He was very patient. He could easily have come out and charged for a service call and then explained all of that to me. I was very grateful and will definitely call them should another problem arise with a major appliance.

Very good experience. Would use them again.

They estimated the cost to fix it and advised it's not worth fixing it which costs a lot of money instead buy a new one.

Ben arrived on time the same day I called, and was quick and effective in his diagnosis of my garbage disposal problem. He completed all repairs quickly, and answered all of my questions. Excellent experience--they did actually come on the same day I called them. Tech was a delight--friendly, professional, speedy but thorough. Probably not the cheapest price, but when you get service like that, it's worth it.

Same Day Service is wonderful. My refrigerator started screaming like a bad fan belt on a car, last night. It was quiet, this morning; but, I noticed the outside of the fridge seemed very warm by the afternoon. Called Same Day Service, they were out a few hours later. Diagnosed the problem and fixed it, right then and there. Better than having to buy a whole new fridge or risk a fire from it overheating. I've used them before for appliance repair, and I highly recommend them.

I left a message on Sunday evening and they called my cell phone early the next day and said they could come later that day and would call 1/2 hour ahead so I could be sure to be there. The tech was very nice and professional. It took him a few hours to open the machine and get out all the lint, which was not just in the filter and vent, but inside the whole machine. He had all the parts he needed and also had a rigid vent pipe to replace my bent flexible one. He automatically applied the Angie's List discount because I had told them on the phone that I found them on Angie's List.

They were very prompt. They worked quick. The price was reasonable and I will call them again.
