The stove door had already been "repaired" once under warranty so that it would actually close completely. But after a few years the door got looser and the seal less tight to the point where the oven light was continually on because the door simply did not shut all the way. The repair man told me that to actually repair the door, the range would have to be pulled out and the sided taken off and the whole hinge mechanism replaced (seems to me to be a design flaw that the whole oven has to be dismantled to replace the door hinges- but that's how it is). The guys did this and it wasn't simple. This is a time I really appreciated the price per job model that SDS uses. It took two guys about two hours to do this as well as replace the heating element under the glass flattop. The whole repair wasn't cheap but they knew what they were doing and did a great job.

They were prompt and professional.

Repairman, Dave, was very professional, arrived when he said he would. Another repairman actually installed the new part, gave me tips on bringing the refrigerator back down to proper cold level, and other helpful things on appliance care. Less than 24 hours later it failed again, Dave came again, and this time it was the thermostat heater that fizzled, probably from trying to keep up with the iced up condenser in the freezer compartment during the week the refrigerator was down.. This part was hard to believe, but he came the next day, replaced the part, and said there was no charge for labor or part!! Overall highly pleased and would recommend. Only mild criticism I could possibly make is that it would be nice if they had a higher inventory of parts, but they did tell me they stock over 90%.

I called Same Day Service around 8:20 Sat morning (12/1) to have a dishwasher repaired. They were here within the hour. The service rep was very nice, did a great job, explained everything he was doing. Nothing was actually broken, but the disposal area needed to be cleaned out (our fault for letting popcorn kernels get into the dishwasher). The job went smoothly all around, couldn't ask for more.

I purchased the Big Deal coupon to for inspecting and tune-up of several appliances (disposal, dishwasher, fridge, washer/dryer). The person looked quite carefully and found a leaking issue with the dryer vent. He replaced the vent with a new one and cleaned up all the lint built-up in my house. He also cleaned other appliance as well and left us some of the cleaning agent. Overall a good experience.

Excellent. They knew what they were doing and were very professional. The dryer had so much lint build up and my sister wanted me to have it cleaned and arranged it. I am happy she did.

After Hurricane Sandy brought down three trees, my power lines (and the telephone pole too!), I was without power for six days. Once the power came back on, I discovered that my electric range had stopped working. I called Same Day and, sure enough, they offered to have someone come by that same day to look at it. That day actually wasn't good for me, so we settled on the next day. The technician, Kevan, showed up during the estimated time of arrival, checked the range out thoroughly (explaining clearly everything he was doing) and discovered that one of control panels on the back of the range was malfunctioning. He put in an order for a replacement part and said they'd call as soon as it arrived to set up the installation. While he was putting the range back into place, he noticed that the circuit breaker panel was "buzzing". He checked it out briefly, identified that one of the circuit breakers was loose/broken and suggested strongly that I have an electrician in to check it out (which I did....thanks!) A few days later, Same Day called to set up the appointment for the installation of the part on the Friday after Thanksgiving. At the end of the day on Wednesday, Kevan called to say that he was in the area, had the part in his truck and if it was convenient for me he could fix it on Wed instead of on Friday. He said he was worried that I'd try to use the stove on Thanksgiving Thursday (which I would have, so he was right!). So he did come over on Wed, fixed the range and everything was good to go. He was a very, very nice fellow, clearly very knowledgeable about appliances and electronics, and happy to be doing a very thorough and professional job. I'm definitely now a member of the Kevan fan club!

very thorough, professional. did not take long to tune up/clean each of the appliances. i knew there was a problem with the fridge (which happened after we bought the $149 tune up package), so I was happy to call them in. the service tech fixed a small vent problem with our dryer, cleaned out the dishwasher, and worked on the fridge. i forget now what the problem turned out to be, but it's now 12/2012 as I write this and there have been no issues with the fridge! I did buy their two year (or was it one year?) service contract plan. i assumed there would be something that came along with the $149 deal, but given the work done on our appliances & the advancing ages of some of our appliances, we thought it would be a wise purchase. would definitely recommend this company!

Alex showed up exactly on time. My work began with an examination and heck-up of 5 appliances: refrigerator, stove, dish washer, washer & dryer for $149 on an Angie's List coupon. Alex cleaned and re-calibrated my dishwasher so it cleaned better and adjusted oven temp on my stove. When he looked at my washer & dryer, he found 2 belts ready to go on my washing machine and explained why my wash was not spinning as dry as it used to and replaced the water hoses that were ready to split along with replacing the belts. He not only cleaned out my dryer venting system (which is about 25 feet long) but replaced the plastic coiled tubing with flexible metal and replaced all of the sheet metal duct work as it would be neater than cleaning it out. He was one of the neatest service men who has ever come to the house. There were no traces of his work when he left my basement. I would definitely call Same Day Service for any repairs I have. If only they did windows!!!

I contacted the Same Day Service company and they came out within 2 hours and called 30 minutes before hand, just as they had promised. When they got there, the freezer was quiet as a mouse, of course... The company came with two people, one was a trainee. Replacing the evap motor fixed the problem. They also left behind a warranty sheet referencing model and serial numbers with a 1 year guarantee quote and a $10 coupon for the next visit.

This company is amazing. I called at about 9:30 this morning, and despite the fact that they were full and booking appointments for the next day, when they heard that I would only be home today because I work full time, they rearranged scheduled to accommodate me. The technician was in front of my dryer by 11:15. He did a quick diagnosis, went over the whole problem with me, fixed everything immediately and was done in less than two hours. He even apologized for taking a little longer than the originally estimated 45 minutes. I was incredibly impressed by the speed, the efficiency, the cost (which honestly I thought would be a lot worse when he listed all the problems) and the super nice technician. And best of all, when I said I found them on Angie's List, they gave me a 10% discount. Fabulous experience!

It was great. The administrative folks were in touch with me right away and followed up persistently until we found a time when the service could happen. The workers (Mike and his apprentice, also named Mike I think) arrived on time, were extremely friendly and thorough, and helped me out with everything. The main problem was my disposall, which they checked and let me know that the motor was dead and it needed to be replaced. Thankfully they had a new one on hand and could put it in right away. The part was about $300. I was extremely pleased with the work and found them to be very trustworthy and would absolutely use them again. They also taught me some tricks to get more life out of my appliances, which really helped me to trust them.

They did a great job with the work they did. They tried to sell and extended warrenty for the appliances I had, which I did not need. The people were very nice and knew what they were doing. They also came out - the day after I bought the Deal.

I could not believe that we got this repair done "same day". The technician, Dave, was very courteous and professional. He explained the problem and the repair, and our refrigerator was working again in a little less than two hours. The ultimate charge was in line with the estimate and when he left, his work area was perfectly clean.

I called them because my dishwasher wasn't rinsing my dishes completely. They installed a new washer arm, but there was still residue on the dishes. I called them again and they said I was using too much soap. Also, they didn't completely reattach the dishwasher when they finished the repair, so now it wobbles and leans forward whenever I open it. Lastly, everything they were here, they sent someone different. During my three visits, there were three different technicians that came.

This was the second time we used this service to repair a leaky refrigerator. Kevin went above and beyond, taking extra time to help remove wet wall board after he fixed the leak. He also gave us valuable advice about preventing a reoccurrence. I recommend them and ask for Kevin.

I have used this company for years to insure my appliances. They are excellent. They guys that come out are always very nice. Just like they say, they are out in the same day. Every time I call the company I always get to speak with a live person. They have been wonderful for me.

I SCEDULED THEM TO COME ON A WEDNESDAY, SINCE THAT IS MY DAY OFF. I TOLD THEM I HAD ANOTHER APPT THAT DAY AT 2PM. THEY SAID NO PROBLEM, THEY COULD BE HERE EARLY MORNING. I WAITED AROUND ALL MORNING FOR A CALL. FINALLY AT NOON I CALLED AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE STILL A HALF HOUR AWAY. I TOLD THE WOMAN THAT I HAD WAITED AROUND ALL MORNING AND THAT I HAD SOMEWHERE TO BE AT 2PM. SHE SAID, "OK." NO APOLOGY, NOTHING. DONT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU HAVE ALL DAY TO WAIT AROUND FOR THEM!

They really mean Same Day Service!! We had same day service repair a refridgerator that was not defrosting. First off, let me say that I did not think that their name, Same Day Service actually meant same day service. I was wrong in a good way. I filled out their onlineservice request form at 11 pm and they called me at 8 am the next morning to set up a service appointment that day. So if you need attention right away these are the people to call. The service tech came out within 18 hrs of my inquiry, examined the fridge and told us what the fix would be, and the cost to do the work. It was a fair price and they finished the work within 48 hrs of my first contact.

i picked this company based on angies list review. true to their name, they scheduled service call for the same day. I phoned on monday morning at 8 and the job was done by 1pm. the tech took a quick look and diagnosed the problem. replaced a broken condenser relay piece which looked like it couldn't be more than $10 at a hardware store. the refrigerator is working and i did not need to buy a new one. The bill is a bit shocking at $285 for less than 10 minutes of work. he said it is billed by the job, not by the hour. You be the judge of that. I was happy that the problem was solved, not so with the price tag. Update: this company would come out and give an estimate for the repair and if the consumer declines they will charge you $90. i was told that repeatedly on the phone. Contrary to that, Dave the 20 year veteran did not give me an estimate before the job started and afterwards did not offer any explanation as to the breakdown of the bill. Their manager Rich basically said the same thing, that they bill based on their years of experience, not by the hour. Is there a pricing book? Couldn't tell. I guess it's trade secret. Angie's List could really set up a standard pricing menu for a standard job in a particular area. In the end, Rich offered me $50 future credit, but based on their elusive pricing practice, I don't think I will be a repeat. Also next time stay close to home. A local repair man from West Roxbury will probably charge me $100 tops. While I agree with Rich that experience does matter, so is customer care these days.

One of the things that I did like about them is that they are true same day service. So, I called and they were here that same day. We have used them several times in the past once for the oven and once for the cook-top, and they did come out that same day. If you end up using their services, then they subtract the cost of coming out and giving you the estimate, the service call, which I liked as well.

The technician was thorough, professional, and willing to answer questions. The washer fill hoses and shut-off valve needed to be replaced. It was not cheap, but we are grateful he caught them before we had a disaster, and installed better equipment than was there before. We subsequently discovered a relatively minor problem with the dishwasher. They sent a technician over right away. We decided it was unrelated to the service visit and not worth the cost of repair, and there was no charge for the follow-up visit.

Technician was very professional, went above and beyond what was required, gave us pointers on maintenance.

Wonderful education on the care of high end appliances and what the owner can do to maintain all appliances. Also recommended a warranty product for the Sub-Zero as any work or part replacement would exceed the cost of the warranty. Indepth knowledge on all appliances and smart thinking about approriate service and use of warranty.
