Same Day Service Company Inc

My dishwasher was not draining. Same Day came and it appeared that they had solved the problem, but the tech stuck around to check the dishwasher 3 times. The third time it did not drain fully. He returned with some new parts and spent several hours fishing out a small plug that had gotten trapped in the hose. I am sure it was really frustrating, but the techs from Same Day kept their good humor and continued working until they solved the problem. I always worry when I get a service contract, that when there is a problem, the company will tell me that this problem is not covered by the contract. Same Day was excellent, spent hours solving the problem and did not charge me a cent. I have used Same Day 5 times in the past and have always been delighted by their punctual, knowledgeable, good naturedand effective technicians.

I've got a pretty good response from them. I've used them several times and they send out people who really know what they are doing. There are many different manufacturers and they send out people who really know the specialist in the product. Their price may be a bit high but I consider it worth it.

The guy was really kind and informative.

They made it to my house the same day. The gentleman that came was very professional and nice. My mother was home at the time and he was very polite and friendly and even very friendly with my dogs. He called me to tell me what was wrong with the dryer to let me know what my options were. He even let me know that my dryer vent was not up to code and fixed that as well. The prices were reasonable and I am very glad that I called. I will definitely use this company again when I need appliance work in the house.

This is a professional company with a heart . Because of illness , my Big Deal purchase expired. Kathy, a manager spoke at length with me compassionately to go over the best applicable use of the certificate regarding my appliances . Kathy sent over a very kind and intelligent technician the next day named Merkie who couldn't do enough to help me with my washing machine and refrigerator . His breadth of knowledge is impressive and he eloquently explained and answered all questions intelligently and with a positive spirit. Thanks, Kathy and Merkie for your generosity and kindness and delivering the news that I need a new washing machine painlessly. Thanks for honoring your commitments in a most understanding way. The guy came and within 10 minutes immediately figured out the problem which was a bad gas valve, ignitor, etc. He said he had to order parts and that I had to pay for that up front which I did. A whopping $394. He estimated the parts would come in by the follow Tuesday. The parts came in a day early, they called me, scheduled the appt for the next day. The guy came and in 30 minutes everything was fixed. He told me the root cause was a broken dryer lint filter and that I should order that online. I followed his instructions and got it ordered. Bottom line -- it couldn't get any faster or easier -- but WOW it was expensive!!

Waited about a week for parts. NOt exactly "same day" but repairs have held up.

I recently purchased a 2-family house and this was the first maintenance issue that arose with my tenants. They called me Saturday evening to let me know that their refrigerator wasn't working. I took a look, but realized this was well beyond my area of expertise. I found Same Day Service Company on Angie's list and called, leaving a message on their voicemail. (You can also request service on their website, which is extremely handy.) I heard back from them on Sunday and arranged a Monday afternoon appointment. One thing to know: if you plan an appointment for first thing in the morning, you can pretty easily plan your day accordingly. Because of my work schedule, I needed an evening appointment. The appointment was listed as "after 4:00" which means they could show up any time depending on how the rest of the technician's day goes, which is much harder to plan around. Around 7PM I had lost hope and expected that my appointment would be bumped, but minutes later I got a call from the technician that he was on his way! I was impressed (and thanksful) that he was working this late to get through all his clients for the day. He was personable, professional, and extremely informative -- showing me exactly what the problem was and, because it's an older fridge and not a very complicated machine, how I can fix it myself if happens again. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.

Our washing machine, which is only about two years old, stopped working suddenly for unknown reasons. The electronics all seemed to function correctly, but the machine refused to turn the drum. I was heading out of town for a week, and I didn't want to leave my wife with no washing machine. I called Same Day Service on Saturday and they came out first thing on Monday. I wasn't there, but my wife was very happy the service. The technician identified the problem quickly -- apparently, a number of kids' socks had escape the drum and become tangled in the belt drive! The price was not super-cheap, considering that no real "repair" was required, but the punctuality and professionalism made it worth the money.

They fixed it in about 5 minutes. Unfortunately we could not replicate the problem, but the stove has operated properly since.

Not only did Bruce fix the issue we called about he also fixed the root cause, too. A slowly draining washer was prematurely wearing out a critical piece between our washer motor and transmission.

I called Same Day Service at the recommendation of another contractor, and they literally came two hours later. I guess with the name I should have surmised that, but when does that every happen? Not only were they incredible punctual, but the tech was very professional and very thorough. I had called because of issues with my dryer and dishwasher, but while the tech was here he inspected all of my appliances for me. He found a problem with the door on the range, which could have led to other problems down the road. I ended up signing up for the service contract for 4 of my appliances. They aren't cheap, but then again what appliance repair place is. I've dealt with others that have charged way more for much poorer service. They still have to come back to finish the repairs once the parts arrive, but I have been very pleased so far.

It went very well. Greg was polite and professional. He quickly found the problem with my refrigerator and fixed it. Without me even asking, he gave me a discount for a little mark he made inside the freezer. The shelf was very difficult to remove and scraped the side. It wasn't a big deal for me at all, but Greg felt it important to try and compensate me for it. He did a great job with my repair and cleaned up after himself (even brought in a towel to wipe up the floor). I was very satisfied with this service call.

This is an update to my original review. My initial experience with Same Day Service was unacceptable. I am glad I gave them the opportunity to turn things around. They pulled out all the stops. Both the service manager and a repair technician came out to replace the heating element in the dryer and the pump in the washer. The dryer is working perfectly. The washer has exactly the same problem as before -- standing water in the bottom of the basket at the end of a load. Call me "halfway to happy." I revised my initial overall score to "B" from "F." Even though the washer is not fixed, I have the impression that Same Day will work with me to resolve the problem. It is evident that the diagnostic tech misdiagnosed the problem. He cut me off when I was explaining the problem to him. He claimed to be able to diagnose the bad pump by sound alone. The new pump is somewhat quieter than the old one, but the washer still does not drain. I wil update this review again after Same Day has a chance to respond to the washer issue. --- original review below --- I first called Same Day Service in the early morning of 12/17. The phone agent offered to send a technician to diagnose the problem with my washer and dryer in a few days. After some pressing, the agent agreed to send a tech the same day. I found this mildly off-putting. After all, they picked the name, "Same Day Service," not me. Their website boasts, "... you want quality service TODAY, just pick up the phone and give us a call ..." (emphasis mine). You shouldn't have to press for the company for timely service if that's what Same Day advertises. The technician arrived on time and took about 15 minutes to reach a diagnosis: heating element in dryer burned out and water pump in washer needs replacement. They charged me $725.15 at that time. Same Day needed to order parts, so repairs could not be completed at that time. A different technician returned one week later, on 12/24. He had the parts, but he was not able to complete the repair. The repair technician was unable to remove a screw on the washer, which prevented him from replacing the pump. He informed me that he would not repair the dryer because of a problem with the vent that the diagnostic technician failed to diagnose. The technician said he would submit my bill for reimbursement, but he was unable to tell me how much I would be reimbursed. I called the company right after the technician left. Same Day got back to me quickly and promised to refund the full amount. Overall, this was a complete fail. Working with this company was a colossal waste of time. It is one week later, and I am no closer to a repair on my washer and dryer. I am happy that they will refund my money, but I would much rather have had working appliances. I rated this company a "C" on professionalism. On the minus side, the original technician did not properly or completely diagnose the problem. On the plus side, Same Day agreed to a full refund. The repair technician seemed very experienced. The diagnostic technician was not careful. He did not check the vent at all. The phone staff was helpful -- other than having to press for a same day appointment during the first call. I gave them an "B" on punctuality. All of the technicians were very good about calling half an hour before they showed up. But I had to press them during the initial call to get a same day appointment. I gave them a "B" on responsiveness because they agreed to a complete refund. I did not give an "A" because they did not offer me a way to get my repair completed in a reasonable timeframe. The price was on the high side, but I was completely willing to pay it for timely, quality service. The quality of the diagnostic work was unacceptable. Hence, the "F" grade on quality. I would be more comfortable with this company if the charged after completing repairs instead of before.

I called on Wednesday when we realized the oven had stopped working, but realized that I wasn't free to let the technician in until Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised that their Saturday price is the same as during a weekday. I liked how they phone 30 minutes ahead of arrival; this is extremely helpful as you don't get a window of time for arrival. (That's fine with me, but I really needed that 30 minutes heads' up!) The technician introduced himself and wiped his shoes off on a towel as soon as he stepped in the door. That was quite thoughtful. He got right to work and fixed the oven, after describing the two options for the part that needed replacing. He mentioned a service plan, but I wasn't interested, and he was gracious about that.

I still am doing business with this company. They sell insurance and insure my appliances. If you use them for repairs, they are quite high. They do a service contract, they wanted $206 dollars for a full year service contract for 3 of my appliances. They wanted to come out for $90 and inspect my appliances. I have a stove, dishwasher and a refrigerator. It turns out my electronic stove igniter is effecting one of the burners and loosed up. They want to replace that for me for about $230 and that is cheep. Since one of the burners inst working, they had to disregard my stove in the contract. The attitude with this company towards their customers are not professional; I feel like they do not know their own policy with withholding information from the customers. I want to let members be aware that they buy the parts at a discount, but then they charge the customers a huge amount. If the customer purchased the part themselves, the provider will refuse to repair the part.

They come out within the same day so I get my service done right away and I can use the appliance right away. They dress in a professional manner.

After calling to make an appointment regarding our gas range we were given an appointment the next day. The person I spoke with was very courteous. The service technician called about 45 minutes prior to arriving. He arrived promptly at the time he mentioned. He had diagnosed the issue to be related to the wiring and mentioned that we have to purchase a new range because the cost of replacing the wiring would not be economical. But just when he put everything back the gas range started working fine. So he mentioned it may have started working after something he has reseated. So he mentioned he was going to hard wire a connection. But after he did that the range controls did not work. So he had suggested that we purchase a new gas range and left. Having the oven worked at some point and later didn't I got curious and opened the panels in the back to take a look and we noticed a lose wire that was not attached. We called the service technician and he mentioned that he did everything possible. I had called the company and explained the situation and I was told that the issue will be discussed with the technician who did the work. I mentioned that I had already spoke with him but he was not available for further help. I offered to take a picture and send it to them about the loose wire but they didn't need it. Our call ended when I was informed the situation will be discussed with a service manager. Wayne called me and asked about the situation. He patiently listened and had informed that he would stop by. He came promptly and fixed the loose wire after which the gas range worked fine. Wayne was very professional and patient and he was a great teacher as well. The fact that they had come again was very appreciated. That shows that they value the customer. We got lucky that the gas range started working otherwise we were recommended to trash this and buy a new one and would have to spend hundreds of dollars. So overall we had a positive experience.

They came on the second day, hence the B for punctuality. The technician was excellent, clear and informed. He saw the problems quickly, consulted with a technician in the office - a plus - gave us an immediate estimate and options - the price of a new appliance, how many years we could hope for in our old appliances - and then did the work efficiently and smartly.

Requested service via web page on Wednesday evening (11/13) for broken Whirlpool Cabrio front loader washing machine. Received callback on Thursday morning (11/14) stating that they didn't have the part in stock that would be required to fix the particular error code that the machine was showing. I agreed that once the part was in stock, I would schedule an appointment. On Friday afternoon (11/15), received call that the part should be in stock by Tuesday (11/19) and the friendly receptionist worked with me to schedule the best time for service on Tuesday. Wayne and another repairman were on time (actually waiting for me) and promptly got to work. They found a different error code that didn't require replacement of parts ordered. They patiently explained my options with regards to repairing the machine: replace the parts for error code (which may not fix the problem) and/or replace the control board (which would be difficult because of the positioning of the machine and the board underneath it). Given the price of the combined repairs (close to $500) that Wayne felt would be necessary to fully repair the machine, I decided to instead buy a new one. I appreciate Wayne's honest assessment of the situation, he even recommended a couple of washing machines to consider when we shop for a new one.

They came out within an hour to diagnose the problem. I did have to wait for parts. They were efficient and what I really liked is that they called 30 minutes before arrival so I did not have to sit at home all day waiting for them.l

We have used them multiple times. They were helpful and informative. We appreciated their work very much.

Guy really knew what he was doing. He taught us a lot.
