I called on a Monday to schedule an oven repair on the following Friday. They refused to give me a ballpark estimate of when someone would be at my house. I called in the Friday at 11 and was told someone would be to my house by 1. When I called at 2 they couldn't give me even a ballpark estimate of when someone would be to my house. At that point I cancelled and will call another appliance repair company. I can't believe they couldn't give me a time window for arrival. Even huge operations like cable companies and utilities can do that.

We have a delicate ice maker. This has come to matter very little since we got a Same Day Service contract for it, which I think is 3 or 4 years, though it could be 5 or more. They've been well worth while, and we just got another 2 year contract. The ice maker got very slow, which usually means it needs at least a new filter. Our filter takes both strength and know-how to change, so the last 4 or 5 times we've just called Same Day Service, and their very nice repairman, Mike, comes and puts in a new one. Occasionally this isn't enough, and the ice is still very slow to fill, so we call again, and Mike or someone else--or in this case, with someone else, a young man learning the business--comes back, puts in a new ice maker, and everything goes on smoothly from there. All the people from this organization we've had contact with have been very nice, but I want to mention Mike especially, since he's gone out of his way to be kind to one of our cats. This particular cat has a keen interest in "helping" any workman who comes to the house, and gets a little too enthusiastic, even pushy. It's not everyone who takes the time to include the poor thing in the party, so I appreciate Mike's willingness to encourage him.

I'm very bad with names, so I've forgotten the name of the person the company sent! So sorry. However, he was really great, said he was 67 and had been doing this forever, and knew basically everything about my unit. Unfortunately, my unit wasn't worth fixing - broken transmission and a dead motor, which would have cost almost as much as buying a new one - so, while that was bad news, I appreciated that he was able to assess this right away. He also gave me lots of advice of what to look for when buying new machines, as well as a history of the old machines, ways to get the old unit out, and advice for draining the water before taking the unit out. I would absolutely call Same Day Service again and ask for this person.

All of a sudden our 6 year old washing machine stopped working. It would drain & fill but the drum wouldn't agitate or spin. I called in the afternoon & they came the next day as promised. Unfortunately, it was an expensive repair so it made more sense to buy a new one than fix the old one. However, there were a couple of things that could have been wrong with it, one of which was less expensive. What I liked is that the repairperson checked everything to make sure what the problem really was so I didn't end up paying for a repair that would not have fixed the problem. I appreciate their honesty.

Fantastic! I was talking to my elderly parents who were having problems with their gas oven. Every time they turned it on to preheat the oven would not get warm/hot but they could smell a strong gas odor. They had no idea who to call. Since I am a member of Angie's List I started researching. I read a lot of reviews and settled on Same Day Service Company Inc. I gave my parents the contact info. I explained that they wouldn't get an Angie's List discount as they aren't members but we needed to get their oven fixed ASAP. Same Day did give them a Senior Citizen's discount though. A gentleman by the name of Nelson showed up and fixed their oven in a very short amount of time. I explained everything that he did. They were thrilled. They couldn't say enough wonderful things about Nelson. He was prompt, professional and very courteous. They have added Same Day Service to their phone lists and will contact them whenever they have appliance repair jobs. I too will be contacting them as I have a few needs myself. Thank you Same Day Service Company for taking such good care of my parents. It's nice to see a company revere the elderly instead of trying to take advantage. If you have appliance repair needs, please don't hesitate to contact Same Day Service Company. You will not be disappointed.

The first time I called there was a wait, so I called back 10 minutes later. I explained my problem to a nice woman who answered the phone. She had the manager call me back with an estimate for the job. He didn't take more than an hour or so to get back to me. He estimated that depending on the cause it would cost between 250 and 450 dollars to fix. He was friendly and professional. They sent a technician out the next day (since I was calling in the afternoon.) I told them was free between 10AM and 4PM. They told me the technician would come before 3, but would call first. I wasn't crazy about such a large window, but the technician, Bruce, called me at about 9:30 and was there by 10, as he said he would be. I don't want to complain about the timing, because the whole job was wrapped up within 24 hours of my initial call---not bad at all. Bruce was very friendly and professional. I watched him work. He explained what he was doing and showed my how the dryer worked. (I had never had a gas dryer before---this one came with the house that we recently moved in to and was about 25 years old.) He diagnosed the problem and changed the faulty part, an ignitor coil. He also changed a few parts that were worn and in danger of failing in the near future (to no great expense). He also cleaned 25 years of dust and lint out of the inside of the dryer. It looked really nice after he finished. The whole job took just under 3 hours. It came in at 265, so it was towards the low end of the estimate, which I was happy with. The dryer works better than before it broke. All in all, I am quite happy with this company and would recommend them. I am super picky about these sort of things, but they certainly made the grade.

We are very happy with the service so far. The people are very friendly and knowledgeable. There is no charge because it is under warranty. We would definitely recommend them to others and would definitely use them again.

They said that my washing machine was too far gone. They were punctual and they did solve the problem that we had. The solution was that they couldn't solve it.

The washer stopped mid-cycle. Same Day Repair (SDR) came (the same day). The repairman was very honest and helpful. He got the machine running again but made no promises as to how long the repair would last. Sure enough, although it finished that load, it stopped mid-cycle again on the next load. (NB: with a front loader, the door can't be opened until the cycle finishes.) SDR sent out another repair person, at no charge. He was able to get the load to finish, but said the machine needed a new control board, which would have to be ordered. When I called SDR to ask what my options were, I was given a price for replacing the control board, which included a deduction for what I had already paid. Although the price seemed steep, all the repair people recommended keeping the older machine because, they said, it's bound to be better than a new one. The part took several days to come in, and the repair people did not come during the time window I had been given, but they did eventually get here on the right day. The three repair people I dealt with all were pleasant and knowledgeable. It's been a month and my washing machine is still working. I would definitely use SDR again.

They service turned out very well. The technician was very good and competent. He also showed up right on time. The pricing was pretty high, but scheduling was not an issue.

It went well. It was a recurring problem. The Same Day service rep returned until the problem was solved. I was only charged for the original service call. I am very pleased with this company. They are professional and friendly.

I called on Thursday and they were out Friday Morning. Two technicians came and had the oven fixed in under an hour. They went so far as to look at the fridge and saw a lightbulb out and replaced free of charge. They were both very porfessional. We have a dog and they were both very considerate of the dog and had a spare treat for him. We will use same day service again in the future.

It was very easy to make an appointment, they were very friendly on the phone, and able to accommodate my schedule. They came out the following day, diagnosing the problem with the dryer and making a referral to have our dryer vent line replaced and brought up to code (reducing our risk of a fire). They returned later in the week to make the repair, coming literally the same day that I called them following the vent line being replaced. The technician worked quickly and was very neat. I would use this company for any appliance repairs needed in the future.

They were excellent. The price was reasonable.

My pipes froze in the winter. After they froze my plumbing wasn't working properly. My washer wasn't working after having a plumber come and look at everything. Same Day Service came out and I explained the washer wasn't working and my machine had a code displayed on it indicating the problem. He was on the phone a while trying to figure out what was going on and was trying to be really quiet so I couldn't hear. He didn't even try to figure out what the code was. All he really did was press some buttons to see if any water would come out. I asked him to take a look at the back to see if the water was even on and he did not. He told me they'd have to take the dryer off the top and it would take 2 people to move it, he gave me a quote of $700.00 to take the dryer off and check the washer out. I went out and bought a new washer and dryer as they suggested. The Best Buy guy found the error code for my current machine very quickly and gave me some information on how to fix the problem, I'm not sure why Same Day Service didn't do this. The delivery guy from Home Depot told me I didn't need the dryer because my old one would work with the new washer, but when he went to unhook the washing machine he said the water was turned off. He turned the water on and tested the machine and it worked. I feel this was poor service with Same Day Service because they didn't check to see if the water was even on as I asked them to. In response to the Providers Response: Not true! Since the water has been turned back on there has been no further problems with my washing machine. There was no need to unstack my units, there were no "additional issues" as they claim. The problem was just mere incompetency of the technician that came to service my washing machine. The manager that called me explained first that the man had been working there for a long time and they only kept him on for that reason. Then, later on in the conversation, he told me the technician was new and didn't know what he was doing. They can make up whatever they want to say about the situation, but I stand firm with my initial evaluation of very poor service by incompetent staff. Yes, I did get a refund, but that doesn't change my opinion of the fact that they sent me an incompetent technician. No, I still would not hire them again.

Scheduling was very easy. What made it a good deal was how inexpensive it was and their follow-through. They let me know other work was needed. The price was reasonable.

Repairman had to make two trips, one to pick up the belt from another location. He was prompt, courteous and efficient.

I spoke to Tim in scheduling at about 12:45 p.m. today (Saturday). He told me they could get someone out that afternoon. When I asked about pricing, he said it's $89.95 for a service visit / diagnosis, and then the service tech would give a quote for the whole job based on that diagnosis. He mentioned they quote flat prices per project, based on the diagnosis, and then we could choose to move forward or not. If we did, the $89.95 would be applied to the overall repair job, plus we'd get a 10% Angie's List discount on the whole job. He said the least expensive a repair would be would be around $150, and likely higher than that, which I thought set expectations well. Merki, the service tech, called about 1:30 to let us know he'd be arriving around 2. He called back about 1:50 saying there was traffic and it would be closer to 2:15 - again, managing expectations well. He showed up around 2:15 and took a look at the oven. When I described the problem we were having, he immediately said we'd need a new igniter, and explained why he was so confident that was the problem. He answered my questions about the igniter mechanism, and how a weak one (which we had) did not pull enough current to open the plunger and release the gas, even if it got hot enough to glow. He then gave a quote for the whole job at about $265. I asked him how much a new range would be, and he told me probably just under $1,000. I quickly looked up ranges on consumer reports, and found that good models go from about $800 to $2,000, so I told him to go forward with the repair. Upon pulling out the old igniter, he mentioned that it's a different model igniter than he originally thought, and it would typically run about $20 more, but since he gave me the original quote, he'd stick to it. While he had brought in the original model igniter he was thinking it would be, he also had the model we needed, and so was able to complete the repair. The whole job was done in under 30 minutes, and we verified together that the oven indeed worked after putting in the new igniter. He then also explained we'd have a 90 day warranty on labor, and a 5 year warranty on the part. Merki was very professional, personable and patient, answering all questions and working quickly. After the 10% discount, the job was just under $240. After he left, I Googled the part online and found a new igniter of that model runs $30-$40. Tim, the scheduler had told me on the phone that their labor rates are $120 / hour, so even assuming minimum 1 hour for labor, that means that after the discount, they effectively charged me $120 for the part, so about a 3x-4x markup. Since I watched the tech do the job, and it looks like there are YouTube videos on how to change the igniter, I'm comfortable that next time around I could do it myself and save about $200, hindsight being 20/20. However, as I had no idea beforehand what the issue was / no expertise on oven repair, and given the urgency of the need, I am still satisfied with the overall experience. So, in summary, A ratings all around, except for B on price based on the extreme markup on the part. If we have a similar situation with another appliance, I would still be happy to call Same Day Service again. Great experience.

We learned about this company using Angies List. We called the 800 number to see if service is regularly available in our area, since their office is about 45 minutes north. The dispatcher was very professional and assured us that they are happy to service our area, and offered to schedule the visit. Their process is to book for a specific day, then the technician calls 30-45 minutes before he can arrive to do the call. The process worked flawlessly. The serviceman was professional, discussed possible issues before starting. He was very thorough with his testing. After checking with us on how we wanted to proceed, he got pricing and expected delivery time for replacement parts from his parts team. The price of replacing the circuit board and one cable was about the price of a new low-end unit. In addition, there was a 1 month back-order for the part. The tech also felt there was significant risk that the new board might not fix the intermittentproblem, so we opted to not follow-up on the repair. We really appreciated his honestly and the lack of pressure to go the service route.

Service and technician were excellent.

Good. They came when they said they would. Diagnosed the problem. Ordered some parts. When they came in, they scheduled to do the work, and came when they said they would and performed well. We're happy. It was a little expensive given the amount of time spent on the job; then again, they really knew what they were doing.

Technician arrived on time, he was very knowledgeable about the Whirlpool clothes dryer, he had the needed parts on his truck, he worked efficiently and explained what was needed as he did the work. I was given an estimate before work was started and the final price was the same (less a senior discount).
