Description of Work: I was very happy with Scott. He was timely, fair in his pricing, and did a good job on 3 "small" but important jobs involving carpentry, gutter repair, and fixing wallpaper. I would hire him again.

We thought they were great in the beginning and in the end we felt that we were left hanging in many ways. We finally had a few things resolved after they finished their construction. Basically, we got what we needed done. We disliked the plumber that they used, and we did not feel that Scott really listened to us when we first told him about that and eventually, he did. We just felt we had communication problems with Scott, and I am not sure we would use him again. We just felt that Scott lost his gusto at the end of our project, and that made it difficult for us. We got quite a few quotes prior to having the work done, so, I think his price was pretty much average. They came when they said they were going to for the most part.

Scott was referred to me by Wilmington Building Supply - they provided me a list of recommended installers but highlighted that Scott had installed most of the windows in Wilmington area and is highly recommended. I met with Scott and he is very professional, agreeable, and has an overall pleasant disposition. He assessed the work and looked at the windows/cable install kit that i had received ordered/received for the job. I checked some references and talked with Scott a couple of times before moving forward. We agreed on the installation and continuation of the skirt roofing from the house to blend into new hip style roofs for the bay windows. Insulation needed to be added to window roofs and below windows. (Sep'10) In short - the installation was completed within 2-3 days of start of the project, as agreed upon. There were a couple of snags that required re-routing some electrical and plumbing (for which i used a referral of Scott's due to the short timing and need to progress the project - essentially i was over a barrel so overpaid his referral for a simple diversion of 2 lines to go around the newly framed window - not unexpected). The windows are in and they look relatively good - i asked questions about the drip edge as they didn't look right. (Jan'11) Fast forward - only a few months after the install and i notice the drip edge was actually used in place of the upper part of the trim (soffit) - after a short time the drip edge is mis-aligned and bending outward in several areas creating voids. There were also voids left where the roofing was extended from the skirt roof to the new hip roof on the windows - i filled these with foam sealant. Also, the roofing was completed without a starter row - this was discovered recently by a roofer i called out to inspect my entire roof - he stated, and i quote - the bay window roofs were not done correctly and should be removed and redone to ensure appropriate coverage and sealing of the roof. Additionally, through 2 winters now i have noticed the ceiling and seat area within the windows are very cold and indicate inadequate insulation. These items were/are annoyances, but not my main concern. My main concern was that the windows began to sag within a short time and it wasn't until a few months after installation that i fond the windows sagged so significantly from the house that there were air gaps to the outside (mind you these are Marvin wood clad windows that do not leak). I had to call Scott several times and leave numerous messages before hearing back and being told that he would come out after his vacation that was about to start. Finally made it out and agreed that the sagging was severe and claimed the windows were not what he was used to (e.g. Anderson) and they didn't allow him to fasten them well - same applies for the cabling system. End result was a re-visit after some time to jack the windows up and add bracing underneath each window and framing/closing this off (i proposed this fix) - defeats the purpose of the cabling system, but in the end we agreed on a panel design that looked good. Being the nice guy that i am, i paid for the additional materials the block the framing in. This took a full day of work to complete in ~April '11. Since this new work was completed the windows appear to be stable and no new sagging has appeared. I have since needed to redo the trim work, as it was left incomplete now that the window was framed out much lower than originally done. Also, i am in the process of getting quotes to redo the roofs properly and ensure a tight seal, as well as reconstruct the fascia/soffit appropriately. While Scott seems to be a very nice guy and is capable of doing good work - i did not see a quality product during the first or second set of work. I may have saved a few dollars with Scott - but i've paid the price in rework, time...and now additional cost to redo the roofs. I caution those that are considering Scott to do work where quality and longevity of the work done is important.
Description of Work: Two new bay windows for the front of the house. This entailed removing an existing double-hung/picture window on one side and removing a standard double hung on the other side. Materials were predominantly supplied by me: windows, cables for installation, roofing material.

Scott and the gang were responsive and did what they said when they said. He was easy to work with and allowed us to be involved where we wanted to be and took over some things we did not want to deal with. It was a challenge as we lived there during construction but it could have been worse!

The project went very well and the cost was right at our target. The workers were prompt, efficient and the end result was exactly what we wanted. Clean up after the job was excellent. the entire project took only 4 days.We highly recommend Scott Robichaud.
Description of Work: Scott rebuilt a side porch and replaced / repaired damaged vinyl siding as well as lattice work on 2 additional porches. He also repaired our gutters over the back door entrance.
Everything about them was great. They did a great job and were prompt. They were good value for the money. They did a beautiful job. I just can’t say enough good things about them. I would recommend them to anybody.
Description of Work: We used Scott Robichaud Custom Builder & Carpenter three weeks ago. I got some water in my basement and I had another company come and take out the impacted wall surface. They put the basement back together.
My wife and I had called can set up an estimate appointment with Scott. He was right on time as we planned. He seemed very knowledgeable about the questions I had upon the roof damage that I have in my home, as well as a small renovation in our mudroom and a fix up on a wall that once had a window. I, of course do not know anything about home repair, ect. I became very aggravated, because he was not efficient about keeping in contact with me about the estimate. I had to continue calling him every week. I understand that in this business, it can become extremely busy. But what really upset me was when he told me, that he didn't know that I was so serious about performing this work, so he didn't really prioritize putting together an estimate for my roof repair, and the small renovation in our mudroom due to water damage from the roof leak. I do not understand why he would assume that this was not something we were serious about, considering that I have an infant, and this water damage may result in mold. So, because of this, unfortunately I will not recommend him to anyone who is looking to get work done fairly as soon as possible. But as far as having him come by for an assessment, I have nothing negative to say.
Description of Work: Only an assessment was performed.

Description of Work: scott gutted and re did a kitchen, added a new bath upstairs and remodeled an old bath upstairs
Scott and his company did a fantantastic job making our ugly unfinished basement into a beautiful finished basement that anyone would be proud of. He gave us an estimate of when he would start and finish and he was pretty much right on the mark witht he date. Scott was easy to talk to and listened to what we wanted to accomplish but also added what he thought could make it better....and he was right. I would recommend this company to everyone and have already hired them again to tear down a wall in our kitchen and add beautiful hand crafted columns. I will definitely look no further then to call Scott and his coworker for our next project!
Description of Work: Scott and his company did a fantantastic job making our ugly unfinished basement into a beautiful finished basement that anyone would be proud of. They installed a beautiful bathroom with a tile walk in shower, they installed the hardwood stairs, and pergo flooring, installed all wood work and moulding, added multiple storage shelves, and a storage room with doors, and created a beautiful built in corner unit, which I had requested. Very creative solutions to maximize all our space issues! Fantastic work!

It was a good experience. Scott was the first one to call us back, came out promptly, and gave us a slight edge on price of all 4 or 5 people we tried. One place quoted 22k, not including architect drawings, just for reference. Normally I would not go with the lowest bid, but he was clearly really experienced and had good reviews. There was some lag to starting the job due to the condo association and the city requiring tons of paperwork, and he hung in there with us. He coordinated the architect and other aspects like electrical. The work was completed quickly and accurately, and all his workers/vendors were pleasant and professional. The blueboard and plaster looked great. We are happy with our new space, and it even came in slightly under budget, which he reminded me when I went to write the final check.

We would of ended up using them, some personal things just interrupted the project. The worked was willing to reuse some material and was also very responsive. We was really professionally and we would use them in the future if needed.
Description of Work: They gave us an estimate on some remodeling around the house.
We were extremely happy with the work Scott did for us, and working with him was a pleasure. He really "got" what we were trying to do with the space, which was make it safe and comfortable for our two daughters to play in, but keep the project on a smallish scale, and keep it reasonably priced. The other 2 quotes we got to do the work wanted to make it into a much grander project, almost on an addition type scale. I was 8 months pregnant when we started the work, and we were anxious to have the project finished before the baby came - he got us from estimate to finished in under 2 weeks! He helped us with several small details that we hadn't even thought of, like raising the new floor so there wasn't such a drop for our small children running out there, and was very honest with us on things we could do to reduce the expense of the room, like hiring an overnight carpet company to install the rug instead of having him do it - for half the price. The room is probably the best money we have spent on this house since owning it.
Description of Work: We hired Scott to renovate an existing 3-season porch, and turn it into a playroom for our kids. Scott reinforced the existing structure with concrete footings, installed and insulated a new floor, put up and insulated new walls, and insulated the existing ceiling. He also removed the existing exterior door that separated the old porch from the house entirely, and widened the opening to make the room seem seamless to the rest of the living area. He also painted the room for us, and worked with his electrician to install a new electric outlet and a small electric baseboard heater.
