I called Merrimack Properties asking to do the aeration of a small lawn, after Scotts Lawn Services were not able to provide this service, as they do not use ramps to get an aerator over small stone steps/retaining wall. Fortunately, that was not a problem for this provider. David was responsive and came the following day after my call. He did the aeration, overseeding, and also said he added a fertilizer. Before leaving, he advised us about watering and future fertilization of the lawn. Overall, I am pleased with the service.

The service was done in a very competent manner, power aerating our yard. The provider was great at coming up with a mutally acceptable time to provide the service, showed up just when he said he would. We would definitely reccomend this company. Very happy,

The original deal was the Standard 1/4 acre deal posted on their Deals list. I let him know before he came (via Angies' list msgs) that my lot was closer to 1/2 and acre .. and I was interested in overseeding as well. He was On Time, courtious, more than generous with his time, his knowledge and his skills. I would have (I will have) him back any time I need work he is willing to take on. Don't hesitate. Take the deals he is offering and see your lawn improve!

When Dave ran into a problem (he nicked a sprinkler line by accident), he took the time to get the part he needed and he fixed the sprinkler line on the spot. Through it all he remained professional and focused on making sure that I was satisfied with the finished job.

My lawn was not in great shape so I contacted Dave for top dressing, aeration, and top seeding. Dave gave me an excellent estimate and has gone above and beyond to deliver his promise. First his team came out in the spring to aerate and dethatch my entire lawn so it could recover from the last brutal winter. Then last week, Dave order 10 yards on loam and he spent the entire day spreading it across my entire lawn. His work ethnic was so impressive to my neighbor and he came over the next day to ask him to do the same thing on his lawn. At the end, Dave and his team spread 10 yards of loam on the bear spots, aerated, spread seeds and put down fertilizer on the lawn. When I found out one of the sprinkler head was not working, Dave came over and replaced it for free. A true professional. Dave is courteous, professional, always returns email and calls on time. I am so excited about my lawn and looking for a beautiful lawn next sprint.

Dave did a lot of different things to fix up our lawn. I really appreciated how he took personal responsibility for the work and checked with us to make sure it was what we wanted.

David and his crew were great at communicating to me what was going on and giving me a straight, honest answer on how to tackle the problems that I was facing with my yard. This past winter had severely damaged my lawn and shrubs. He and his crew did an excellent job in not only re-seeding my lawn but also mulching and cleaning up the shrubbery surrounding my house. I have had some frustrating experiences with landscaping companies in the past, but that was far from the case with working with David. He was extremely professional, helpful, responsive and most importantly, the work was done right.

The owner, David Bernstein, is very professional. He always responded quickly and courteously to every call. When his assistant was unable to work, David called to alert us to a time change as he attempted to find a replacement. Unable to find one, and hearing we preferred the job be done on the day appointed, he arrived at his new ETA and performed all the work personally in the hot July sun. The work was not easy. Due to the configuration of our property and the location the 2 large, 50 year old foundation yew shrubs, the use of a stump grinder, even a small one, was impossible so they needed to be dug out by hand. David was the 3rd provider I called and the only one who would consider the job. The reason why we only give a B rating for the price is because $400 seems a steep price for just 2 shrubs but the special circumstances noted above made it more justifiable- at least David was willing to do the job! David was careful not to step on/ damage any of the surrounding plantings (NOT easy!) and left the area to our satisfaction. We will definitely engage his services for future jobs. Communication was excellent--David answered phone each time I called, while he was here responded well to my questions and explained clearly what was being done and why. He was willing to tackle a bit of an unusual situation--problem areas on zoysia lawn, in region where zoysia is not widely used...and made 5 calls to locate the type of compost recommended for zoysia repair by the university extension service. Michael, his helper, was a hard worker totally focused on his parts of the job. The cost was reasonable. I highly recommend them.

I moved in with my mother after my father died, to help her, but the yard, a half acre lot, was beyond me. She'd had a new septic tank installed a year ago in the back yard, and it looked horrible. The front yard was suffering from basic neglect. I'm pretty good with plantings, but not grass, and the weeds were out of control. There was an area in the front where a tree had been removed and that spot was kind of caving in, and also someone had driven up on the lawn at one point. Dave and his guys were incredible, worked like dogs, and the heat was terrible the two days they were here. They aerated, put down a weed treatment, and levelled the yard beautifully. The loam they put down over the whole yard was the best quality I think I've ever seen, and not the chintzy (spelling?) layer the septic tank guy put down. They cleared out areas of the yard that they didn't have to, and it looks fantastic. There's grass growing! I would highly recommend Merrimack Valley Aerating.

David and his team was a pleasure to work with. He showed up the day of the first contact to finalize the quote and give some ideas on potential money savings. The crew was out in a couple of days and worked pretty long hours to finish the job over a two day period. End result was a clean yard with well demarcated flower beds, mulch and some fertilization. one month in most of the bald spots have grown in with nice grass cover. Highly recommend and will use again!

All services should be this easy, prompt and effective. Merrimack properties gave me a full evaluation of our landscaping needs and set up a quick and reasonable service estimate. When I explained out budget limitations they prioritized our greatest needs. They performed the service quickly and efficiently. They worked with out budget and our scheduling needs. They also did some on the spot service by activating and priming our irrigation system. I will definitely be using Merrimack Properties again.

Happy with the service. Dave was very responsive from first contact, and job was done as expected with no unpleasant surprises. Felt price was fair for work done and would not hesitate to hire again. Felt he offered honest advice on what needed to be done and never had the sense of a hard sell. Very professional service.

Dave's team showed up around noon time and spent the two hours power rake and aerate the entire lawn. His team were very meticulous and went over the lawn multiple times and at multiple angles to de-thachet the lawn of dead grass from the brutal winter. Then he aerated the entire lawn. His team did a great job. The lawn might look rough now but the result will be better in the fall. Looking forward to top dressing and overseeding in the fall.

David and his crew were excellent! I had originally contacted David about de-thatching and aerating our lawn but expanded the scope of work to include a general spring cleaning and mulch refresh for all beds. Throughout the process David was incredibly responsive and professional -- I knew exactly when the mulch was being delivered, when the crew was arriving, and duration expected for the work. My only regret is that I wasn't home to meet David in person!

Dave was absolutely professional. I called him after having a bad experience with another Angie's list provider. I called Dave and he immediately picked-up the phone. He asked me a ton of questions about my property, what I was looking to achieve from his service, and if there was any out-of-scope work that I needed. The one thing that I expect from any service provider is good communication, and Dave was phenomenal. Most importantly, Dave was open an clear about his calendar and let me know when he would be coming to perform the work. He said that he would do the work on a Sunday and he was TRUE TO HIS WORD. Dave showed up just as he promised and his work was impeccable. It was clear that he cared about the job that he was doing rather than making a quick profit. Dave was great, he contacted me immediately after requesting a quote, answered all of my questions, and gave me advice on what types of seed and fertilizer to buy. On the day they came out it was a 2 man crew working for about 2 hours. They did a great job clearing out all the dead grass, and we had a lot. They cleared out all the debris, aerated, then seeded and fertilized. Overall it was a great experience.

Dave and his team did a fantastic job. The showed up when then they said they would. They did a great job and charged the agreed upon price. My lawn is already looking better. During aerating Dave hit a sprinkler line through not fault of his own. (The line was buried only about an inch deep). Despite it not being his fault, he fixed the line immediately. He and his team are very professional and I will definitely hire them again.
