On the day of the service, one of their employees provided an estimate to complete the installation of the toilets and remove them. My wife called me (I was on the train on my way to work), and I thought she said it would cost $500 total. That seemed high, but minus the $200 in credit, the additional $300 was close the high end of what I thought I'd be charged in extra fees. I was shocked to find out I was being charged an ADDITIONAL $500 on top of the $200 in credit, for a $700 total bill. To install two toilets. They did not deceive my wife about the price; I misheard her while answering the call on the train. But nonetheless, charging $350 for each toilet installation is about twice as much as a reasonable market rate. I do not plan on using ARS Heating & Air ever again.

Eric was on time, professional, helpful and informative. It is reassuring to know all systems are OK. He took extra time to answer my questions and show me how to check the system. I will definitely call ARS in the future, probably for AC maintenance in the spring.

The technician came out and didn't actually do a tune-up for the toilet, he only told me what is wrong with the toilet. He installed a shower lever that directs the water to the tub or the shower and charged me an additional $50. I paid $49 for a tune-up of the toilet and inspection, but he didn't do what I had initially paid for! I am not happy with the service and would like my $49 for the toilet tune-up back, as he didn't actually do the service.

Technician was on time and very professional, explained everything he was doing as he went along and answered all my questions. He was very thorough and I will not hesitate to use this company in the future for heating, air conditioning and plumbing.

My experience with ARS - Heating & Air Conditioning Services was excellent. They, again, were very easy to schedule and in fact I think the day that I contacted them, they came out the very next day. The gentleman who showed up, the technician was on time, he was very polite and very thorough, when he was checking everything out he also then went and checked the thermostats and one of the thermostats needed a new battery and asked me if I had a new battery and replace it, so that's much appreciated. I would use them again and I have.

My experience with them went alright. The guy came out and worked on the furnace. I did not watch him, but it seems to be alright. He opened the thing up and checked inside. The price was pretty good because it was under $100. They were very nice when I called and talked to them. He came right out when he said he would. He was really professional about it.

It was good. The guy who came out was really nice. We liked him. The service was done within the same month of the big deal purchase because I think that you have to use the coupon within 30 days and we wanted to use it right away because we wanted to have it done before October before we turned the heat on. We just paid for the price of the deal. My husband was the one who really talked to him but he liked him. We were absolutely happy with the service that he provided. From what I understand, my husband was totally happy. The price of the service was definitely really good because before that showed up on an email from Angie's List, I saw what other places were charging.

Fixed all problems. Replaced all parts. Very satisfied. The technician (Eric) was very professional and very nice.

They came out on January 21st to provide an estimate. They gave me a window for when they would arrive, they called beforehand and showed up right on time. The service was good!

They emailed me the day after I purchased the deal to set up the appointment. They did have to reschedule but it was handled professionally. The overall service went well. I had mixed feelings because they said the glass tube was cracked. The amount they charged me to replace it seemed high from my discussions with other people. The representative they sent was friendly, polite and arrived on time.

It was a situation where we were not sure what the problem was. They did the minimum amount of work to save us on costs. They were fine as far as service and professional.

ARS claimed that this would require $1080 for materials and that they would have to come on two days for the work, which might have also meant that I might have to pay extra for travel time (this issue was not discussed). That plus $89 already paid to Angie's List would have resulted in a cost of over $1100 for what was to me a simple installation.I thought this was excessive and told them to not darken my doors again. I was able to install everything, including several trips to Lowe's to get the materials needed, in about 4 hours; not bad for someone who is 75 years old. My total bill from Lowe's was under $75 for various fittings and fixtures.I understand that plumbing can be expensive, but this is too much.

At the start of the heating season, I was unable to start my furnace. My own troubleshooting found that the pilot light was out and would not stay lit. Around this time, ARS was offering a tune-up special and I quickly purchased it and called to schedule an appointment. Despite the friendly office staff, scheduling an appointment did take some effort, as I didn't receive call-backs to confirm an appointment. I finally had requested to speak to the supervisor/manager to confirm receipt of my Angie's List coupon and an appointment. While it wasn't an emergency call, I did appreciate that he tried to arrange their schedule to process my service request at a particularly busy time of the year. So within a week of first contacting ARS, the technician, Marc E., arrived on time at my home. He was able to quickly replace the thermocouple to confirm that the old one wasn't working. Marc was very professional, courteous, and he was willing to answer all of my questions about what he was doing to check, clean, and fix my furnace. I also appreciated his recommendations for future care and preventative maintenance of my system. While he was diagnosing the health of the furnace system, he showed me how an auto-feed/back-flow valve was sticking and I should consider replacing it, but it wasn't necessarily urgent. He provided me a written estimate of $347 for the parts and installation of that flow valve/combo. Overall, I give ARS an "A" rating for the $89 cleaning and and the additional $70 for the thermocouple replacement. The only reason I gave them a "B" for responsiveness was for the multiple calls that I had to make to schedule the appointment, which I have to think was some sort of office-communication error that was eventually resolved. Once this initial communication error was addressed by the manager, their responsiveness was very good. I would definitely use them again in the future and I recommend them to anyone else.

January 2014 ($99) Marc E. arrived on time, answered all my (many) questions about my current HVAC system as well as gave suggestions about what makes sense for us in a new system (did not push items we did not need). Work was done in a very professional manner and pointed out an item that may be of concern in the near future. I plan to use ARS of Boston again in the near future for a new HVAC system consultation. April 2014 (~$15,000 before rebates) We went through with updating our old HVAC system (~15 yrs old) with a new top of the line Lennox Home Comfort System. Was not cheap but given our location of the A/C condenser the quietest system on market was needed. The ARS sales rep walked us through the selection process, covered all of the permits, scheduling and rebates. Given the location of our unit there was some demolition required as well as a crane, which made me a bit nervous but the team that came to install (and remove) was top of the line and made what was a decent size job run pretty seamlessly. We've had them come back a couple times to do some minor tweaks to the system (which are expected on a new system) and the result this summer was night and day. September 2014 ($2900) Our water heater finally went and was actually leaking in our basement. I had known it was on the down-swing but did not expect it to be this fast. I called ARS in a panic as I have 2 small children and having warm baths is a must. They were booked solid for a week but given that I was a repeat customer and in a real bind they seemed to move heaven and earth to get me in that day! Me and my family were extremely appreciative of the continued superior customer service and workmanship that ARS of Boston has shown and will certainly use them again if the need arises.

My service technician was Gordon. If I could request Gordon for all of my needs regarding my home care, I would. 1) The time frame they give you is the arrival time. Why I didn't realize this is a mystery to me since I have been a home owner for 15 years. I suppose because it was first call of the day, I assumed he'd be here at 7. NOT his fault. Just for frame of reference & traffic info, it took him almost 2 hours from West Bridgewater at 7 am. 2) Not much to be said except I get VERY secure leaving him tin the basement & knowing things were checked & taken car of. He gave me a lot of info on the filter selections and tips about when to know they should be changed. He also was thorough in explaining what he did & how things work (although I wasn't listening since I am sick). 3)came up to one of my units that has a cluster**k HVAC layout since it has been piecemeal together since 1901. While he didn't have a lot to say regarding making it work better since it is such a mess, he was very willing to give me ideas & input. 4) he noticed a huge leak from first floor no one else has noticed. He was very helpful in walking me through some things & gave me a coupon for plumbing work. Lucky for me, AL ran a deal on plumbing service that same day & I just scooped it up. I would not hesitate to use them. I am a house manager for a family in Newton so I am always looking for technicians & providers for my property as well as theirs.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went very well. There were no problems. They were there on time and they gave me a good explanation of what shape the system was in which is good because it's relatively new. I felt good after that, I shouldn't have any problems with it, and I haven't. They came very quickly and there was no extra charge.
