They were just absolutely wonderful. We just bought this house that's over a hundred years old and he goes up and said, "This isn't dying for." They don't make the parts for these anymore. He's gonna be putting in an estimate price to replace the systems. He's absolutely excellent, gave a wonderful service and he's very, very thorough. I thought the price is so reasonable and they were right on time. He researched for us and that's why we loved that.

The gentleman called us immediately after purchasing the Big Deal, and he was very professional during our interactions in person and by phone. Ultimately, the deciding factor will be the estimate of the project itself.

ARS Boston showed up as scheduled, on time, and ready to work. The tech was Dave ("Daw") and he was fantastic! He was full of questions and gave a kind of walking/working tutorial on how to get the most efficiency out of our (new to us) gas heating system. He was very good-natured, quizzing me about the system, filters, thermostat settings, etc. And giving me expert advice about keeping the system clean and happy. He tested the system with more thoroughness than I'd ever seen a tech do. He suggested half-dozen small things I could do to make sure pipes didn't freeze, lines didn't leak, and filters worked best. The whole experience was way better than I anticipated, given the usual "quick and dirty" service calls I'm used to. I will definitely use them again, and hope Dave returns!

It went well. They were professional and competent. I described it as pretty good in terms of intensive service quality.

I received a mailing from ARS that alerted me to their plumbing services. I called ARS to schedule an appointment to check a ceiling stain from a leak on a Monday and they could accommodate my schedule for the following Friday. I also re-jiiggered the appointment to be water-tank-drain-and -plumbing-inspection package which turned out to be a better deal than what I had originally thought I would arrange with them. I received a call Thursday afternoon to confirm the mid-afternoon Friday appointment. A few minutes later I received another call from ARS mentioning that they had a cancellation and did I want to schedule for earlier in the day. I did so. Dave arrived exactly on time on Friday. Although the service I had arranged was a package deal (drain the water tank and then do a whole house inspection), Dave immediately asked me what my top plumbing priority was (stain on basement ceiling) and tackled that first. He performed a thorough inspection of the ceiling and the nearby plumbing and provided me with a sensible assessment of what had happened. He spent a full 2.5 hours draining the water heater and looking at all the plumbing, provided thoughtful answers to my questions, and offered workable solutions to many what-if scenarios I presented him. During the plumbing inspection, he found the leak at the kitchen faucets and took a photo of it so I could see it for myself. He called back to ARS for pricing for the replacement parts and installation and, although it seemed rather steep (he told me the parts themselves at Home Depot would cost about $28 (but were not plumber grade parts)), the photo he took showed that the connections were rusted on to the faucets and were in a very narrow and awkward space. I opted to have him deal with it all (and take them up on their 1 year warranty). I have used ARS (through Home Depot) for installation and maintenance of an A/C system and they have always been top notch.

Serviced furnace. Shut it down to potential Carbon monoxide leak. Gave quote for new furnace which was higher due to the quality of furnace he was going to put in, a bit out of our budget.

They showed up on time and were very professional. They took their time performing the maintenance and even took time to explain what they did and give us recommendations on what else we may want to think about in the future.

Chris was professional, patient, and very helpful. He was on time and immediately put on shoe covers to protect my carpet areas. He quickly fixed the running toilet and had the necessary part in his truck to improve water flow conditions. After inspecting my basement, upon my request if he had time, he wrote out all the parts that needed to be replaced and gave me an estimate for the work to be done if I chose their company to do it. After I called another place to compare costs, I decided within 1 day to hire back Chris to take care of the list of projects he suggested. Looking forward to my new plumber!

The initial furnace tune-up discovered 2 cracks in the furnace heat exchanger which could result in carbon monoxide exposure. They had to shut off the furnace and condemn it. I made arrangements for ARS to install a new furnace and had them also replace our water heater due to being about 17 years old. They sent out 3 men to do the installations the next day during January 2014 and the job was professionally completed in 6 hours.They protected our family room rug and furniture during the installation and cleaned up after the job. They went over all rebate information and also installed a carbon monoxide detector wired into the furnace system. The exhausts for the furnace and water heater were installed through the wall to the outside of the house and they capped off the vent leading to the chimney. We were very satisfied with all their work. The new furnace and water heater are working to perfection.

It went well. He was a nice guy. He came quickly and did a good job. I thought they were great.

Not really well. While he may have given me some insight on the status of the furnace I felt like it was really a sales effort to get me to upgrade. Hearing a lit of negative feedback about my unit is fine but feeling a little pushed to a new machine without real comment on how to correct what might be wrong today was frustrating. Called guardian care once he left they came fixed an issue and said yes the unit is old but you don't have to replace it today. Just don't like sales pitches or feeling pushed into buy. Need professionals who have insight and skill but who can be conservative. Being a home owner is challenging and finding reliable help and professionals is hard.

They were excellent! Matt adjusted my DHW and FHW off the boiler (original setting was way too hot!) Extremely punctual and professional (He put booties on before coming in the house even though I told them that wasn't necessary). System works great! Thanks!

It was great. They were fantastic. They were on time and responsive. They were also great to deal with.

ARS people came when I decided to replace my old (1975) furnace in Novermber. The price was reasonable. And they are always responsible in terms of answering phones. Then I decided to contract with them and both my heating and AC were installed in 1 day.

They did a really good job. We were surprised about a couple of things that was included in the Big Deal itself that ended up not being included, we had to end up hiring an additional company in order to cover some of the services that we thought were included in the Big Deal. We didn’t get as much as we thought that we are going to get. But the quality of the service that they provide was excellent. We were just disappointed that it didn’t include everything that we thought it was going to include. It was all great and wonderful, that part was excellent.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was great. They were thorough in their inspection and timely in their availability. They were pleasant to deal with.

He was very pleasant, explained what he did, while he was doing it.

it didn't go that well, after 5 visits the problem still existed. I was having intermittent heat from my gas boiler. initial visit the technician said I had loose wires on my taco heads but that it could also be the gas valve.. problems persisted. a second technician came out and said it could be the damper vent. instead of being on auto, the switch was moved to open. this worked for about a week. technician came back out again to get the model number and part number for the damper vent. the next day he came back and installed the damper vent. this worked for about a week. I called them back and said the problem continues and that I need to be sure what the real problem was. the manager, John, said it was most likely a roll over switch. I didn't think so because I still was able to get the furnace on it was not dead. the technician came back out again and said well I'll order a block vent switch or safety switch. the part came in, but it was not a complete part it was just a disk and I did not want my system jerry rigged. the complete part was ordered again and then it came in but I would be charged over $200 for a 20 part. ARS did not diagnose the problem properly, they had plenty of chances. Finally, columbia Gas was called because I was concerned about possible gas leak with not being able to have proper gas pressure to keep my boiler on. within 15 minutes of Columbia Gas on site they said that the flame sensor was not properly working , the pilot light was fine but the sensor to kick the boiler on was not consistently working.
