Marc is very knowledgable , he checked the main unite and recharge it ,checked the blower and the drain line. He is very professional ,friendly and helpful with his suggestions to get the best of the A/C. Definitely will use the company again and highly recommend their service.

The ARS serviceman seemed knowledgeable and thorough. He gave a good explanation of what he did and a good evaluation of the system.

During our discussion I told the provider that I have an oil furnace and they informed me that they only surface gas furnaces. Unfortunatley, I had to contacted Angie's List in order to have the Big Deal refunded.

Overall, things went well. The technicians corrected the (freon?) charge level and the compressor unit needed two parts, one of which took about a week to obtain from a supplier, deliver and install (certainly not ARS's fault). Unit has been working flawlessly.

Provider did all the tests and follow-up with electric company to verify that the system was functioning properly. He also did all the required cleaning of the outside equipment and made sure that the thermostat was working efficiently. He also explained what he doing in each step of the process.

There was some confusion at first since the house has 2 air conditioning systems but it was resolved successfully.

Great from end to end - phone reservation to work completed. Lowered the refrigerant pressure in one system and provided an estimate to add refrigerant to the other. Laid out the issues (with a very old unit) without too much sales pressure. Very professional and courteous.

They were great and scheduled us right away. However the $99 was only for one AC not two, we would've been charged extra for it so I did not go through with the deal.

In talking to contractor friends later and also reading up online on this issue, it is a common ploy that these companies use to scare you into paying the money. CO is a problem that can cause death, but it is only a problem if there is a leak in the exhaust system. I bought a new CO test meter and no issue while walked around all areas in the house. Definitely a scam.

Was prompt, very communicative, and very fair. Explained how furnace was functioning - and let me know I didn't need a new furnace (as 4 others before that had recommended including Boston Standard). I wanted to zone my heating and he explained the plumbing was already set up, and tested everything. Recommended an electrician who was out 2 days later. Saved 100's in last few months of winter, was warmer, and didn't have to drop 7K for a new furnace. Will call again next year for a tune-up. Honesty, professionalism, and knowing what to and not to do go a long way. First and probably last review - but this is well deserved.

We just recently used them from the Angie's List website. They were very professional and they were great. The price was competitive. We paid $99 for the service fee and the part was $100.

Technician arrived on time and was courteous and professional. Did the tune up and explained all of our options for our old AC. We would recommend them and hire again. Their services are expensive, and they are clear and upfront about that, but they do a very good and professional job.

The technician told us that the work up in the attic was a mess with a long list of problems. Among other things it would require dampers to even out the temperature difference, insulation of the ducts, and that the ductwork was not even connected to the intake register, and additional repairs that cost $1300 with no guarantee. They suggested replacing the whole system. We were uneasy about dealing with this company because we had an unhappy experience with them when we used an Angie's list discount to have them here for plumbing, but we decided to go ahead with the repairs as we didn't want to get into the hot season with a problem. I called the office and told them to book the repairs. I was told they would order the parts and call me to set up an appointment. Weeks went by and I didn't hear from them and called the office again, they said they had no record of the parts being ordered. A day or so later the technician called to discuss the repairs and to be sure I understood there would be no guarantee of the system. He said that the parts were special orders and it would take at least 2 weeks to get the parts and I would be called when they got in and an date would be scheduled. 4 weeks went by without a call, I called the office again and they told me the parts had never been ordered. I asked to speak to the manager who told me none of the parts were special order, that they were all available in the warehouse but that they had gotten busy and it would be several weeks before they could come out. A few days later I turned on the AC and it didn't work. I was so frustrated and feeling even more wary of this company, and feeling that I could not trust or depend on them. I happened to talk to a contractor who had done work for me and he was able to get an AC person out the next day to help us. He looked at the system and found a wire that was disconnected and once that was taken care of the system worked. He said that the AC registers had dampers in them and he adjusted them so that the airflow down at the other end of the house significantly improved. He said the duct work did not need to be insulated as it was insulated duct work, and the ductwork was connected to the intake register. He said it was not how he would have connected it but it was working fine. I cancelled the repair work with ARS. We decided not to put a lot of money into an 8 year system that works. When it is time to replace it we will definitely not be considering ARS

It was excellent. The scheduling was very easy.

So we went to turn on the air for the summer and it didn't work. No problem, that's why I didn't wait until it was blistering hot. I called one company and they offered to come out.... in 4 weeks! I had even worse result with other recommendations from my friends. Then I tried ARS. They came on the next (business) day! They were right on time. They were very conscientious about keeping my floor clean (they wore covers over their shoes!). They identified and fixed the problem. As a bonus, they pointed out that we have 2 filters on our system, but that it would work more efficiently if we only used one. Great - good advice that cost us nothing. I will absolutely call them the next time we need service.

The first time I tried the central AC this season one unit had power the other did not. I put in a call and had an appointment set up for later that day. The tech was right on time. He found a bad fuse in interior unit and traced it back to the root cause which was some field mice had set up home in the exterior unit for the winter and chewed through some wire. Both items were fixed in no time. The tech was a great guy to chat with. It was painless. I would definately do business with again. Highly recommend.

This experience was outstanding. I can't say enough good things about Jim, the General Manager who coordinated our repair and Chris T. and Tom H. who repaired our unit. I called ARS based on their excellent reviews on Angie's List and they lived up to their stellar reputation. Our second floor A/C had stopped working and we were a panic as we had an impending closing on our house. Another company had come out and was unable to locate the cause - that was when I turned to Angie's List. Jim responded promptly to my initial contact and stayed in contact with us throughout. We had a situation that was time sensitive and Jim was able to arrange for knowledgeable and professional technicians to come out and repair our A/C days before we were to close on our house. The technicians, Chris T. and Tom H. were friendly, skilled and willing to put the time and effort in to properly diagnose the cause of our Freon leak and best of all, they repaired it in time for our house closing, during one of their busiest times of year for this service. I was blown away by the way they made customer service a priority and would not hesitate to recommend this company to others and will certainly use them again, if needed. A++

They did real good. Their service was great. They were great. They went above and beyond, it was wonderful. It was fine, it was great. They are professional, they did a good job. They knew what they were doing.

both required return visits. the furnace had a cracked valve that resulted in CO at several times the safe level. Fortunately, it was vented to the outside but represented a serious potential hazard. AC required return visit for final initialization and attachment of some wires.

It went great. We have an old AC System. When we replace the AC we will definately call ARS.

Did not do any cleaning, just gave me a large bill, saying doing the minor clean up won't help the A/C system. I understand my A/C system is old, but I expected the guy to spend more time looking at stuff and doing a tune up.
