I think the guy was on time and professional. He also communicated with me. However, when he looked at my air conditioning system, he said that he couldn’t do it for the $99 the Big Deal cost. He said that the previous owner had not done tune-ups before.

In a world where poor customer service seems to be the sad norm, it's so refreshing when a company comes along that exceeds your expectations. Such was my experience with ARS Boston. We were having trouble with our central AC cycling off/on quickly and repeatedly after running for a while. I had called an AC contractor who recommended that we replace the outside condenser unit. Sensing that I was staring at thousands of dollars of expense, it seemed like a good idea to get a second opinion. Based on a neighbor's recommendation I called another contractor, repeatedly -- never got a callback. Out of desperation I joined Angie's List, praying that I could find someone who could help me. Best 10 bucks I've spent in a long time. ARS Boston quickly floated to the top of the search list, based on 100's of excellent ratings and the fact that they service my area. I began by speaking to a very helpful phone rep, who told me that a field rep would call me back within the hour. He did. The next day, a very nice tech by the name of Matt came to our house. He was courteous, articulate, very professional and willing to answer all my questions. He quickly determined that the problem was with the pipe that is supposed to drain water away from the air handler. The quickly remedied the problem and we were back in business. At just over $200, I feel like I saved thousands. I was so pleased with the level of service that I'm planning to have ARS come out every year to proactively tune our system and hopefully avoid problems like this for good.

They were good. They set up an day to do the estimate. Someone came and gave me a quote, but unfortunately I will not be able to use this Big Deal.

Scheduling was done quickly. The service was wonderful. I have been happy with the thermostat.

I purchased the $99 AC tune up package only for my upstairs unit. The air temperature was not as cold as it used to be. Marc explained the possible reasons and advised on cost of adding refrigerant. He gave a range since the actual amount to be added would be known only at the end of the process. After adding he checked all vents and temperature was a lot cooler than before. I would definitely recommend ARS and Marc for a professional and thorough job.

The service worked out and they gave us an estimate for additional services. However, after the tune up we had a Freon leak. We had a different provider come out who told us the additional work was not necessary.

In May ARS installed a new air conditioning system in our home. Unfortunately there were two problems. However, and much more importantly, the response to the problems was quick and professional. Initially the system was installed incorrectly and called on the a/c and heating system to both run at the same time. John, the service manager came out straight away and rectified the problem. Then when it got hot enough outside to see how the system really worked, we realized it wasn't actually cooling at all and the fan was just blowing air around. Once again I placed a call and straight away Marc E. came out identified that the system was installed with a faulty part. He rectified the situation perfectly. Once again, I believe how a company responds to an issue is the best indicator of whether you want them working on your house. ARS did a great job for me!

Went well. Arrived on time, no extra charges.

He was punctual, straightforward, provided information as he went, and saved my marriage by having our central AC working within an hour.

These guys were the best - they were very responsive and I had an appointment, estimate, and installation before I was even able to meet with some other contractors. Everything was done in one day and the work was excellent. I would definitely recommend ARS and Taze to anyone in need of heating or cooling.

ARS did an awesome job. They were booked pretty solid due to it being the summer and a heat wave, but managed to squeeze us in knowing that we had a 2-year-old and our AC was down. They showed up on time, did a thorough job, and told us the cost of anything extra before doing it. They even found a couple leaks without charging us more. I would use them again in a second. A++

The service provided was OUTSTANDING! The following day a tech by the name of Matt arrived and did the entire installation by himself. He was so thorough he tested the system to make sure everything was working properly (which it was). He even swept the area when he removed the old unit before putting in the new unit. Matt was a pleasure to have around especially since he was at my home for many hours. I highly recommend this company and will continue to use them in the future.

That turned out excellent. They contacted me directly and they were out to my home within a week. They found out some issues and added a battery in the compressor. He was knowledgeable, pleasant, talked to me about something and I wished Angie’s List would let me give me give him an A+.

ARS did a great job - the provider they sent was knowledgeable and took the time to explain exactly how our system works and how to keep it in good working order. He cleaned and inspected our entire heating system, making sure each and every radiator was working properly before leaving. We will definitely call them back this fall for our annual cleaning and inspection!

Looked at furnace and determined there were cracks in heater that could not be repaired. Turned off the gas and said I needed a new furnace. Said it was too dangerous with the cracks. Offered to apply the $99 I paid for cleaning towards a new furnace that they would install. This seemed fair to me but I hired a different company to install the new furnace. Did not try to get the $99 back because felt the visit to the house and discovery of the cracks was worth the $99 I had paid for the cleaning.

Everything went as expected. Technician was courteous.

The technician was friendly and professional, arrived on time, and did the work as promised. However, I'd advise others to turn on their furnaces prior to the technician's arrival so that he isn't standing around for hours waiting to find a problem.

They did a great job. I would recommend them. It was an expensive service. They were responsive. They were honest. They did a good job. They were thorough. I think they just got the job done quickly.

They were great and everything was fine. There were no troubles with scheduling and the technician called when he was on his way. The technician was very informative and took the time to explain things to me. I told him that I didn’t know much about the system and he explained to me what I needed to do for it in the future. He called his office and got estimates for me on the other things that needed to be done. I feel that he went beyond what I was expecting. I was completely satisfied with the work.

The A/C in my rental unit was pumping warm air instead of cold air. So, I purchased a big deal through Angies List for HVAC tune-up. Every employee of ARS I spoke to, over the phone was courteous and efficient. I tried several HVAC servicing companies before I called ARS and none of them had dates available for atleast 3 weeks. ARS was very accommodating. They gave me an appointment quickly. The technician arrived on time. He checked everything with the HVAC unit. Made sure it is working fine for now. Since it is a very old unit, he also recommended we have it replaced. A week after that, my tenant said the vents were pumping warm air again and I called ARS hoping they would send someone in a day or two. I was truly surprised and extremely pleased when they said they would send somebody the same afternoon. Now, that's what I call 'excellent' service. However, I did call them back a few minutes later, and cancelled because my tenant said it just took a little more time to cool but it did finally pump cold air. I used ARS a few months ago for a plumbing issue too and I remember I was happy with the plumber that fixed the leaky faucet in my kitchen. He did a good job. I highly recommend ARS - Heating & Air Conditioning Services for not only your heating and cooling but also your plumbing needs.

I was going to have to pay more for the service I needed as opposed to the big deal that I purchased. I found another company that would perform the work quicker.

Great service and expertise.

It was fine... I got an A/C "tune up" but discovered I needed a diagnostic, not a tune up. The man was polite and suggested it was quite easy to get a refund and purchase the service I needed separately. Unfortunately, the soonest they could come out was over a month away, so I made an appointment with another company on Angie's List. I have no complaints, it was handled very smoothly and I got an appointment for next week with another of Angie's list service providers.

Marc is very knowledgable , he checked the main unite and recharge it ,checked the blower and the drain line. He is very professional ,friendly and helpful with his suggestions to get the best of the A/C. Definitely will use the company again and highly recommend their service.
