My new (old) house had a seriously gunked up oil boiler that hadnt been serviced since 2012. It was so bad that our home inspector turned it on and promptly turned it off and told us to seek professional help. After combing through a few review sites, I called ARS to book a cleaning. They sent Jim C. to come do a cleaning, and he was excellent! He took the time to do a really thorough cleaning and cleaned up after it. Our basement is just as clean as when he arrived. Major brownie points to Jim for his patience. I had about a thousand questions since I have never dealt with oil heat before, and he took the time to answer them and explain to me how the system works. He even explained an add on that the previous owner had put on the boiler that required it to be "on" year round. He said the fact that it is been off for so long is part of the reason why the boiler was so grimy. Jim did a great job with cleaning and was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely do business with ARS and with Jim again. Thank you!

Very - very quick to respond to a non working gas furnace. Very punctual and polite. Explained all the work he was doing. Offered recommendations for maintenance. We plan to use them again.

It went well, especially the secon guy.

Showed up on time. Was very professional, I had just bought the house and not familiar with the system. He showed me things that had been replaced and the overall condition of my heating sytem. Cleaned and tuned my furnace as well as making sure each heating zone was functioning properly, through out the house. Was also able to advice on cost and types of new boilers that are available if I wanted to upgrade my current system.

He tuned it up fine, but the problems that we were having were not fixed. They were wonderful the guy was great, and gave me tips as well, but I think the problem really has something to do with the system itself.

*I am still waiting for the job be completed* The technician arrived at the tail end of the expected window. Kind of an interesting experience, he brought out all his tools and I told him that it would be a leak check and that I had already spoken with someone in the office about it and that it was a flat rate for $350. He said ok and had to call in with the office to confirm; fine, but it seemed odd that he had no idea why he was out there and it seems like the pricing may vary, based on his reaction. So he returns and confirms everything that I had told him and I ok the quote for the leak check and he gets to work. Guy appears to be very thorough with his work, even cleaning out my compressor (which wasn't really dirty) but was unable to find a leak anywhere. He comes back and says there is a blockage in some XTC valve and that it cause all the coolant in my system to leak out. The valve is a special part that will need to be ordered. He says that it is a special part that they don't carry and will take about a week to order. 2 weeks later I called to see what the progress is and am told that it is still on order; no one contacted me in the meantime. Now its three weeks out and still no contact from the company and am still waiting for them to finish the job. Currently I am left with AC compressor with no coolant and a blockage three weeks after they had come out and no contact about an ETA when they can complete the job. Thankfully its no longer 90+ degrees.

They came when they were supposed to. It took a couple of weeks for them to come out for additional services, but I would hire them again. I have already contacted them for another job already. They were also very professional.

The installation was smooth and very well-done, with the technician explaining to me everything that was done, how everything worked, and how to operate the machine. Work appears to be of high-quality, and they took their time to do all the extra fits (each heating zone getting its very own valve) to make sure that the project was top-quality. My only gripe is that when the appointment was scheduled, the assistant on the phone told me this would be a one-day job, when in fact it was a two-day job.

I also asked Nick (the service tech) to check the radiators that I suspected had issues and he gave me a fair price to come back and make the repairs. Nick was in time and professional (he used booties over his work boots on a rainy day today while coming in and out of our house). I had an appointment for next week and due to a schedule change at work had a day off today. When I called to see if they had a last minute cancellation so that I could get someone here today I was shocked when they were able to make this happen. WOW!!

Service technician, Ryan Love, was excellent. A professional and expert technician, who was personable as well. Would definitely call ARS again.

It went very well, the individual was extremely professional and polite. They noticed that the last provider had used way to much coolant, causing the system to not work properly. He corrected this issue at no additional charge, and from the looks of it, it didn't look to be a really simple process to correct. I would recommend their services, although, it did seem a little cheap to not include the usual benefits of this service such as changing the filter (which we all know doesn't cost much of anything), and the additional support they provide after the service is performed, which are both included when you pay full price. I might look around to get a more complete package next time, as this time around I had little time to compare companies.

The service man arrived within the estimated window and spent a lot of time telling me about what he checked on my heating system and answering my questions after a what seemed like a thorough inspection. He found the hot water heater to be soon to go which wasn't a surprise as it was 12+ years old and recommended a heater that ran off of my boiler. He thoroughly answered all of my questions including subsequent emails and phone calls. After I got other estimates, I found he was in the ball park and went forward with them for the indirect water heater. Also none of the others that gave me estimates even mentioned the rebate so with that included, ARS was substantially lower in price. The plumber did a great job, was courteous, and cleaned up, and even did it on a Saturday as that was more convenient for us. Our water comes out of the faucet hot now and we don't have to wait for it to heat up. We also have plenty of hot water so that multiple showers can happen in a row. I would definitely use them again.

It went great! Matt Knight was our technician and he was courteous, professional, on-time, and did a very thorough job. Our furnace was in good shape, but he cleaned it out, checked the performance, and made a few minor adjustments to improve how it runs.

Person was highly professional, punctual, knowledgeable. For $99, the service was OK. If money is no object for you at all, I'd strongly recommend them. If you are not bleeding money, I could not justify them. For example, normally the call would have been about $250. Not worth it for a check. If the system is pushing cool are, the pipes are sweating, the motor is more or less quiet, and there is no smoke, there is little chance you need anything. $99, to feel OK might be worth it. But the rest of the products and services were astronomical in pricing. For example, I "needed about a pound" of R-410A. The charge was $179 for 1 lb = $4,475 for $25 lbs while retail on-line it's $88 for $25 so > 5,000% mark up in the worst case. A complete do-it-yourself kit retails for about $85 with 1lb of R-410A and you can subsequently just by the R-410A yourself, again saving quite a bit. So if you're up for spending about $400 per unit per year for AC and more per unit per year for heat pumps if you use them in the winter, then go for it, these folks are professionals. If not, don't.

The tune-up went well and I was overall happy. My AC had stopped working and they were able to get it back up. They also changed some filters and their pricing was reasonable. There were no issues with scheduling -- they came out right away. They were very knowledgeable and helpful in answering my questions, and were very professional.

It went well and I was impressed how they reached out to me right away and scheduled me in as they had a technician in the area on another call.. I was looking to test a new company that does heating and plumbing as the person I like in the business that does heating and plumbing work for my house had moved. Dave, who came out was very pleasant to deal with, he went abt doing his thing and explaining things to me as to what he was doing. Since I also have some plumbing work to do in the house and told him abt stuff i needed done, he reached out to the plumbing team and told me who I need to talk to and who will come out if I needed an estimate. I appreciated the prompt service all round.

Taze was very knowledgeable & helpful during the estimate/proposal process with the Mass Save loan process. They were prompt and friendly when they arrived on the first day of demolition of all the old pipes/heating system and cleaned up after themselves! Chris took the time to explain every step of the process so we would know exactly what was going on. They were neat in installing the new plumbing/heating & hot water unit for the new gas fueled system. They promptly asked us questions so they made sure they installed everything where we wanted it and where it needed to be installed legally. They took away the old oil furnace and pipes and left the basement swept and cleaned out. I would definitely recommend ARS for any plumbing/heating/hvac work needed. Bob & Ruth Abington, MA

Service was excellent. Very responsive and very knowledgeable. I was pleasantly surprised by not only how fast they responded to my request but also how thorough the technician was. .

I would recommend them to anybody. We had a house that underwent significant work. We had multiple folks from the HVAC world come out and try to update the system. They failed miserably. ARS came out and did a very detailed review and fixed everything. It works like a charm now. They were expensive but I was willing to pay whatever it took. I would absolutely use them again.

Everything turned out well. The technician was on time, courteous, did a good job with the work.
