Belmont TV Repair

Artie arrived at 09:15a which was well within his 'between 9 and 10' commitment to be at my house. He successfully repaired my television within one hour. During this time Artie launched immediately into action, politely declined my offer of coffee, and had the back of the television off within 5 minutes of arrival. He indicated he would need about 30 minutes. He diagnosed the problem as a flawed part on the mother board that blew the fuse and said it would cost $180.00 to render the television fully operational. I consented to the repair, he went to his truck to obtain the part, and returned to continue the work. He offered to reinstall the TV back into the entertainment unit, reconnected all the cables including those belonging to other devices, and ensured everything was back in working order. Artie was very professional yet sociable, efficient, and courteous. Oh, I have this thing about people removing their shoes (which, in this early spring weather means caked on mud that gets tracked into the house) and Artie did so without being asked. This is an indicator of his sensitivity to his customers and I greatly appreciate that. I highly recommend Artie to anyone needing television repairs and troubleshooting.

Immediate response, knew exactly what was wrong based on the model number of our Sony. Explained the model number has a known problem and insisted only on OEM Sony parts. Ordered part (said it would be 3-5 days and it was) came back, fixed the TV and made sure it was all connected correctly. TV works great. Gave 60 day warranty. Very professional, very knowledgable and very prompt. Well worth the money. Applied initial visit fee to total cost.

He was professional and helpful and told me to fix it would cost almost $900. I decided not to go forward and he took the TV away.

responded in an hour from my phone call. (on a Saturday) Warned me within 10 minutes that it didn't look promising from what he could see on the screen, but said he would like to try something. After some more dis-assembly he explained what was wrong and that he would not be able to repair it satisfactorily . Only charged the original house call fee. And removed the unit free of charge.

Overall, it went very well even though I found out that my Samsung tv is crap. I was impressed with his honesty with me as he could have charged me $250 to fix my tv, but told me that I should just put the money towards a new tv. He could do a repair on it, but because of the cheaply made parts, the repair probably wouldn't last more than a few months. He didn't feel comfortable taking my money and then having me be unhappy a few months down the road. He did look at another tv that was probably 11 years old and he tinkered with it enough to get it working, but didn't charge me as he couldn't warranty his work. (it probably needs a new part which would not be cost effective). I have actually told a number of my friends about this gentleman as many people assume that they have to buy a new tv when their old one acts up. I only ended up spending the $50 fee that he charges to come to the house and he was here for probably an hour.

Called him at 10 and he showed up at 12 the same day. He was very polite, very professional and courteous. He made sure that I knew everything that he was doing. He finished the job very quickly too. Before he fixed it he explained what he needed to do and he made sure I agreed with the payment.

My TV wasn't working. I called at 9:00 on a Saturday morning and he came by noon that day. Was friendly and polite, worked efficiently and neatly. Gave my kids a suggestion to fix a PlayStation problem they were having. Very helpful, good service, great results.

I would absolutely use them again. They did good work.

Overall great experience. Called on a Monday and he came out the very next day, exactly on time. Did the repair on the spot, including gluing some broken pieces on the exterior of the TV.

This man is a fabulous find. I wish I had found him sooner for another TV that I ended up disposing of. I also thought the cost of the repair was reasonable and much cheaper than buying a new one.

We found Art on Angie's List and decided based on the excellent reviews to give him a try. We called at 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. To our wonderful surprise he was able to come that night--he spent about 45 minutes testing the various parts of the circuitry in the tv, and asking us questions about what problems we had experienced. He is a genial, friendly guy who is talkative and honest about his work. He told us, and I believed him, that he is the only tv repair service in greater Boston that does component-level troubleshooting. Most places will just isolate the problem to one of the 3-5 boards and then tell you to replace the whole circuit board, which seems both unnecessarily expensive and wasteful. Once Art isolated the problem component, he found that it was not one he could easily fix that night because he didn't have the part on him, but he promised to call the next morning and let us know whether he could come back and fix it soon or whether he would need to order the part. He called at 10am the next day, which happened to be Easter Sunday--a day of the week that I believe they are actually closed, especially on a holiday. He said he had found the part and could be by in 30-40 minutes if that would be ok. He showed up, and 20 minutes later we had a working tv. The $50 diagnostic fee was applied to the overall fix, and this was well worth the money since (a) most other places would have told us to replace the entire board for definitely more money, and (b) if we had not found someone like Art we would probably just have bought a new tv. If you have any tv issues at all, absolutely go to Belmont TV first.

I found Belmont TV on Angie's List and was impressed by the reviews. I called Art at around 3PM on 04/07/11 and he was available to arrive within 35 minutes. He closely listened as he described the problem and quickly went to work. Once he discovered the likely problem, he stopped his work, called me into the family room and explained how much it would cost to repair. He completely the job about 20 minutes later. He also stayed a bit longer to ensure that the TV was working correctly. He was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I would absolutely use his services in the future if needed and would recommend him to anyone!

called belmont tv and described the problem. i was told he had another call in my area later that morning and would stop at my house on the way. mr. gukasyan was on time and told me that there were 3 possible problems with the tv and had the part for one of the problems (the other 2 problems would not have been fixable). the problem was fixed within 1/2 an hour.

Art was available the next day for an appointment. He came to the house to do the work. The work took less than 1 hour. He had the part and tools with him.After he completed the work he carried the TV upstairs to where it belonged in the house. (I had carried it downstairs because I didn't know at-home service would be so well priced and readily available.) He hooked it up to the cable and to the s-video cable. He taught me how to set it up to watch a dvd and how to use the tv without a remote control since I had lost it during the six months the tv was broken. When I had paid the bill, he went back over how to set it up to watch tv or a dvd. He was great.

Art was very responsive from my first phonecall until final completion of the repair. He arrived at the appointed time, completed the assessment and removed the offending assemblies quickly. Repairs required ordering of parts and work on the offending components in his shop. These were completed in the time promised, and the TV returned to function cleanly and efficiently. I'd recommend Art in a heartbeat.

Nice guy, knows his stuff, courteous and helpful. Don't know if the price was high or low; but I do know that the tv is too big for me to wrangle downstairs and out to the car, so I think getting a housecall deserves a housecall price.

I called and learned they don't repair any TV that has a TV/DVD or TV/VCR combination, even if the problem has nothing to do with the DVD/VCR portion. However, he gave me the name of someone who can fix it, and I just talked with him and will be bringing in my TV this afternoon. Thanks for taking the time to refer me!

I was very happy to have the TV repaired. We did not want to replace it. Artsvick fixed the problem promptly, professionally and provided an additional service by programming the remote. We will definitely call him again if the need arises.
