S & W Tile

Wes and Steve did a fantastic job installing tile flooring in our basement. Wes was incredibly responsive to our initial calls to discuss the project, coming to check out the size and condition of the space, and via email when we had questions about the project and selecting the tile and threshold/trim. His quote was reasonable (and he stuck to it), plus he was able to start the project about two weeks later (other places would've had us waiting a month or longer). Wes was very open and honest throughout the process and also was understanding and helpful as he knew we were on a tight budget, not having anticipated the need for new floors in our new home. We purchased the tile and grout with his guidance and are very happy with the choices so far. He even provided some expertise on a couple other issues we'd noticed in other parts of the house while he was here. Wes and Steve completed the project within a week, as promised, and were professional, courteous and on time each day. When our trash and recycle bins were filled from the tile packaging and other trash (our town limits us just to the bins provided), they were even considerate enough to ask when our trash day was and how they could make sure it was all cleared out before they were done! They are the epitome of professionalism. Oh, and we can't leave out the fact that they actually redid a portion of the tile that was just shy of reaching a doorway (it led to a storage area anyways and didn't bother us at all). We really didn't mind it at first, but at the end of the day, they went back and made it better, got a new trim and it now goes through the doorway - and we're glad they did that for us! Overall, we are thrilled to have our basement complete and very happy to have gone with S & W Tile. They do quality work and are great to work with, providing top notch service and are true professionals in every sense of the word.

Wes worked collaboratively with my tenants and me to find a convenient time for this work. It was not clear if there would be water-damage when the tiles were removed. Wes set appropriate expectations about the which parts of the job would require another contractor if that was the case. Wes and his partner were able to creatively problem-solve when there was a minor issue with the placement of the studs. They communicated with both myself and my tenants, making coordination easy and insuring that the bathroom was ready for them to begin the work. Wes and his partner were prompt and courteous; they minimized disruption and cleaned up after themselves, except for a little dust. They were able to finish the job in the time frame predicted.

this my third tile install with Wes and Steve. I'm very happy with the latest finished product.. Wes returns calls immediately and schedules the job quickly. Steve covered everything, installed the kitchen backsplash and left the kitchen very neat and clean. I would recommend S and W to anyone who wants professional service.

Quote- First the quote process. Wes could not have made it easier. We spoke over the phone and I sent him photos and the specs for the tile. He made a Quote (which was actually the price) that day over the phone. He also told me to check out their work, which was available online. First Meeting- Wes came to our home to confirm the details of the job. He was so extremely friendly and nice, and offered excellent ideas for how to address the window tile area and another section of the room that we hadn't finalized (a post). We were so impressed by his knowledge and loved how nice he is!! Installation- Wes told us the project would take one day, and it did! He arrived at the time he told us (7am) and executed the work perfectly, without making a mess. Now we have had lots and lots of contractors! I never imagined that I would say such a thing about tile work! We had other contractors do tile work at our home before, WOW did they make a mess. Not Wes and his team. They had a special piece of equipment that did an amazing job and NO MESS. End Product- The end product looks amazing! The tiles are installed perfectly and he even installed some granite that we purchased for the window. Do not even bother to read other reviews! These guys are the ones to hire. I wouldn't suggest any other tile people in BOSTON!

Wes and Steve were great from the beginning to the end. Responsive upon first phone call. Assessed the job over the phone to save time. Gave an honest appraisal of what I should do and not do (and what was just a waste of my money). Steve showed up on time and was obviously expert at what he did. I paid attention to every detail and I couldn't find anything that was missed. The overall job looks fantastic and most importantly, Steve gave us advice to make it durable. Prices were reasonable in comparison to others but we really saved because they took care of it all in one day and we didn't have to take another day off of work. The job was a little more than anticipated by S&W did not charge us a $1 extra. SUMMARY: Awesome job, Highly recommended. I will call you next time.

Great work! These guys were prompt, responsive, and did beautiful work... they were able to complete the entire backsplash installation within one day, and even provided my husband some good insight about an upstairs bathroom that's in horrible shape. I just called Wes today with a follow up question, and he was very helpful in providing me good advice. Great job, guys!

Wes was very responsive, punctual and helpful. He guided us through the entire process and helped us make the right decisions without forcing us into anything. He had to come in and re-do a job that was poorly done 4 years ago. I had done my homework reading reviews etc - but instinctively knew Wes was the right person for the job the first time we met him. He just knew tiles and is confident in his recommendations and his work. The work was done in 3 days flat. The price was reasonable and we are very happy with the way it turned out. Wes also put us in touch with an excellent plumber and helped us out of a jam with one of his contacts so we could get the stone work done in time. We waited until we finished all related bathroom work and actually used the new shower to post this review. Didn't want to rush it. We have been using it for a several days now and we are very happy with it. All in all great work. Highly recommended.

Installed bathroom floor. Wes is very knowledgeable and straightforward. He gave a detailed explanation of all the work to be done and what to expect in advance of the job. I won't hesitate to call him again for any tile work.

Stephen and Wes were a pleasure to work with. From my first call, Wes was helpful and clear about what he could do for us, how much it would cost and his timeline. Communication is key with a finish job such as tiling and Wes was excellent in communicating with us throughout the duration of the job. He and Stephen worked with us on a design that would work for the space and be beautiful. The quality of the workmanship is excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending these guys 100%.

S&W was hired to follow a pre-designed large format tile pattern that I gave them to price the job with. The installation workmanship was excellent. They left the job site clean everyday which is amazing because I let them cut heavy commercial grade porcelain tile in the house. Very punctual with all appointments. Best of all S&W was in and out as promised within 5 days. I would definitely hire them again.

We're extremely happy with the work. From the beginning to the end, it was very easy to work with Wes, and we knew that we were in the hands of a true professional. I first called by phone, and he returned my call in less than an hour while he was out of town on vacation. He came out, did an estimate, and scheduled the work for a few weeks later after coordinating with the plumber he works with (who, by the way, was also extremely responsive and did outstanding work). During the intervening weeks, he was proactive in contacting us and was extremely responsive to our emails and phone calls. The extent of the work that needed to be done was significantly more than initially thought and resulted in a higher estimate, although we felt this was quite fair. The previous owner had done a quick, terrible job renovating the tub area before the house went on the market (e.g., there was rot and mildew on the old plywood, not to mention old newspaper from the 1960s stuffed into the wall). Wes and his crew did a thoroughly professional job and completed the whole thing in only one day, and the tub area looks absolutely beautiful. He also made an outstanding recommendation for what color to repaint the bathroom, and now our entire bathroom looks like it was remodeled. We would definitely use him again if the need arose.

Wes was fantastic to work with and did a great tile job! I am a new homeowner and was trying to do as much of the bathroom renovation work myself. When Wes came to give me a quote for the job I explained that I was going to do the preparation work and that this was my first time doing a bathroom renovation. Wes was nice enough to explain what I needed to do for preparation work before he could put the tile down. During the preparation work I had several questions on if I was doing things correctly, Wes made himself available via phone and email to answer my questions. Wes even gave me a referral to a plumber to a repair last minute plumbing issue. Wes and his partner Steve came promptly on the morning of the day we scheduled to start the tile work. My house is over 110 year old so the tub-surround tile installation was a challenge as none of the was were true. Steve was up to the challenge and laid out the tiles so that the slants and unevenness of the wall are almost unnoticeable. On the second day of the job, Steve again came promptly at 8 am and finished the entire job by noon that day. I am very happy with the work that Wes and Steve performed and would/will hire them again for other tile installation work.

Wes and Steve arrived as planned early Saturday morning to begin install of my tile tub surround. Before beginning they thought through the interface between the existing wall and many other details that would never have occurred to me. Because I hadn't demo'd the walls other than in the immediate tub alcove the transition was somewhat problematic but together they brainstormed a solution which worked great. After installing Durock and Kurdi membrane, they planned the pattern so that it was symmetrical on all walls and the glass accents were strategically located. Perfect symmetry was not a simple matter as I had a limited number of field tiles but somehow they made it work by reusing the cuts. Finally I had a gap between the existing floor tile and the newly installed tub and had no idea how to bridge it. They suggested we fill it with similarly colored grout and it came out awesome - even better than if the tile had gone all the way to the edge. Steve and Wes were creative problem solvers, perfectionists and highly skilled artesans and professionals, and throughout the twists and turns, they never charged an extra penny above their initial quote. The end result is beautiful and I couldn't be happier!

S&W installed a kitchen backsplash in our kitchen using travertine tiles with a mosaic band which we provided. Wes promptly answered any questions we had about the job via email or phone. The job was done on time and on schedule. The quality of the work was excellent and they made sure to leave the kitchen as clean as when they arrived.

We had a great experience and will use S&W when we remodel our bathroom. Wes came to our home for an initial consultation and gave a very clear and thorough explanation of the process and options for our floors, as well as clear and detailed pricing. He also pointed out important safety measures that we should incorporate into the subfloor to make sure the job was properly done. One thing I really appreciated about Wes was that he gave us options to work within our budget, like giving us tips on how to take up the old flooring so we could do it ourselves and save money. He even offered guidance on what types of tile to purchase and where to shop. He was very friendly and professional. On the day the floor tile went in, he and Sean were on time and walked us through the whole process. They were both very friendly and professional. Afterwards he gave us a thorough review of the services performed and prices for everything as well as the steps we would need to take to care for our floor in the future. I would definitely recommend S&W.

Initially reached via phone, S&W moved to email and photos to try and establish the scope of work. Given the complexity, they quickly arranged for an on-site visit. Negotiations over the job were conducted on the spot, and we were able to both close the deal and schedule the work all in the same visit. The company reached out via phone and email to make sure that the house was ready on the scheduled work date with all materials on-hand. They repeatedly took special care to make sure any questions and concerns we had were fully addressed. On the scheduled day, they showed up promptly and did the entire gamut of the agreed contract in a single day flawlessly, professionally and even cheerfully. After, they took the time to walk us through their work in order to give care instructions and answer any follow-up questions we had. They again reached out to us afterwards to make sure we remained happy with the work done. All in all, no complaints, and we feel we got good value for our dollars.

Went great! Prompt, communicative, took the time to explain the pros/cons/costs of lots of different options, came in under budget, and *returned* on the weekend to fix a very minor problem. A pleasure to deal with.

The experience was great from start to finish - I reached out to 3 contractors and Wes responded within an hour of my email. The other providers were much slower to respond. Wes and I went back and forth over email and he was able to provide a quote based on some pictures I sent him. On the day of the job Wes showed up on time and identified a problem with my plan. The floor of my house wasn't level and therefore he had to correct for this in the tile work. Wes intelligently and clearly presented options for how to overcome this situation and I was able to quickly decide how to move forward. The job was done quickly, professionally, and Wes' crew was extremely careful around my house. Wes followed up after the job to make sure I was happy with it and answered a few other questions. Overall very happy - I would use S&W Tile again.

Steve was punctual and very professional. The walls for backsplash are angled on each side of the range. Steve was very detailed oriented. He arranged the tiles such that the tiles aligned at the seam. We are very pleased with the outcome of the backsplash.

Wes was excellent from the start - professional, responsive, and direct. He worked with us on the timing of the job because it was in a tenant's apartment, and was very respectful of the tenant and the space. The job came out great. I would definintely use him again and recommend him to anyone else.

He was punctual. That's a very important quality for me. He told me what and how he was going to regrout. He answered all my questions with lots of informatiion and patience. His work was immaculate. He did a fantastic job with our little bathroom, cutting the tiles to fit around the toilet and a heating vent. Highly, highly recommended for any and all jobs.
