All work was done with care and an eye toward the finished appearance. Communication was timely.

Wes and crew were professional, courteous and responsive through the whole process. They showed up on time and delivered everything on schedule and within budget. The work consisted of 7-8 days of labor addressing issues in two bathrooms. I was very impressed through the whole process and wish that all contractors performed at the level S&W tile does. We will definitely use them again if the need arises.

From the beginning, Wes (owner) was very responsive and very helpful in making our decision on what to do in our bathroom. He kept in touch with us confirming the dates and time. We never had a doubt they would be on time. We had our main bathroom done. We demoed our own bathroom. We also installed the new subfloor. S& W tile came in did all the prep work and tile installation. Domingo and Renato did a great job! They were very personable and kind. Everyone was on time. It took about a day and a half for the install. The work is absolutely beautiful. We went for a 2 inch Carrera marble hexagon tile with the dark grout and look absolutely fantastic. We can't wait to have them back to do our Master bathroom! Highly recommend them!

This is the second time I have used S&W for a backsplash install. Both experiences were excellent. This latest project was not cheap, but in fairness, it was a lot of work to install individual glass tiles in a reasonably large area. I have to commend Wes and company for sticking to the original quote, despite the project taking much longer than expected, and not cutting any corners along the way. They stayed until everything was done properly. I feel like this is rare in the world of home improvements, and it was very much appreciated. The install team was on time over multiple days, professional and just generally nice. Attention to detail was excellent. Would highly recommend Wes and his team for any tile projects.

I contacted Wes on March 7 to discuss having the tile work done for our remodeled bathroom. In our phone conversation, he was able to answer all of my questions thoroughly and was extremely patient and nice. He suggested that I send some pictures to him of the bathroom so he could give me a more accurate quote. I did so, and within 24 hours, I received his quote for the work. Ultimately, the cost for the installation was out of our budget so we have chosen another option. However, I would not hesitate to use this company for future work based on their professionalism and responsiveness. I have no doubt they would have done a great job.

I contacted Wes at S&W Tile last December. You see, the tiles in my original, installed in 1969, mosaic tile floor in the bathroom were starting to pop up. I tried to cement a few back down, but as soon as I'd get them in, a few more would pop up. So I got fed up and called Wes. He was very nice and responded to me very quickly. He explained that I needed to pick out the tile, that they were installers, not designers. Seeing as how these guys pretty much walked on tile lined water according to other reviewers, I said OK, that I would pick out the tile and grout and get back to him. Well I got busy and let it slip. Meanwhile, my time warp tile floor was losing more tiles, so much that I had to lay down plastic. Further, the tiles were laid down on bare plywood, without any sort of backing. This meant the plywood was starting to separate as water got underneath. So I had to cover the open space with plastic. I finally got around to picking out my tile and grout and got in touch with Wes again. We agreed on a date and I mailed in my deposit. Wes confirmed with me a few days later to make sure we were still good to go. The guys showed up on the 28th right on time and immediately got to setting up. I showed them where the tiles and grout were and got out of their way. They started to tear up the old floor, which, owing to its age, didn't take long at all. I did expect a fair amount of dust and to my surprise there was some, nothing you could call anything close to a mess. They really did a great job of keeping the dust down. Let me tell you, digging up old tiles floors is really messy and can be VERY dusty. They took care to keep it to a minimum. Both men worked with near surgical precision, cutting and laying the tile with great care. They really worked their tails off. They cleaned up and left when the final tile was laid. They cleaned up the garage where they worked and left the place in cleaner condition than before they got there. The next day one man showed up, again right on time and laid in the grout. He left long after I got home, leaving a beautiful new modern looking floor. Now, There are cheaper out there, but I have yet found better. The work is superb and work every penny. The cut tile is precise and follows even irregular shaped molding like a mirror. What makes this even more impressive is that I picked out porcelain tile instead of ceramic which is harder and much harder to cut. These are real craftsmen and professionals and you will get professional results. If you want something of quality that will last, don't cheap out. Get the best. S&W absolutely qualifies as the best.

I am so happy about this install! I had noticed mold behind the caulking in my bathroom and had two people come out to clean out and re-caulk the bathtub. Each time, the people who caulked didn't tell me the mold might actually be on the walls BEHIND the tile. So, I paid a couple hundred dollars for nothing, as the mold returned soon after they left. I sent a picture to Wes, asking him how much it would cost to re-caulk, and he told me how mold was growing on the walls behind my tiles. He responded quickly to all emails/texts/calls (and believe me, I am a communicative person!). He came out and assessed the bathroom, and I scheduled an appointment right away. Turns out, he was definitely right... On the first day of my install, Wes, Renato, and Domingo came to my house very early, to accommodate my work schedule. They were completely professional and got right to work. After they removed the tiles and the window frame, they discovered a completely rotted out frame -- they sent me pictures during the day, and it looked like fire damage! Renato also discovered my uneven, plywood floors. Seems like the people who "modernized" my condo had simply slapped on some quick, temporary fixes. At first, Renato thought he would have to put the tile on in a different way to accommodate for my uneven floors, but you can tell he takes great pride in his work. I said adjusting the tile was fine, but, imagine my surprise when I got home from work that night, Renato managed to fix the flooring and lay the tiles how I wanted. That was such an awesome end to the first day -- especially after I had seen how terrible my walls and window had been! Then, Renato and Domingo worked the whole next day to fix up the walls, waterproof the new boards, and start to install the tile. They were both friendly, funny, and completely professional. They cleaned up each night when they left, and they made sure to be cognizant of my tiny living space. I really appreciate their awareness of space and their conscientiousness. Finally, Renato came back to grout the shower tiles and replace my shower head. I was heading to Home Depot for more bathroom supplies, and he helped me make a list of what I needed. Then he installed my new shower head and faucet and cleaned up the entire place before he left. The bathroom looks great! The floors are gorgeous and the shower is clean fresh. I am so happy the whole shower is actually clean and nicely finished. I feel much better that the mold is gone, and I am no longer going to be damaging my house each time I shower! Wes was helpful and responsive the entire time, and Renato and Domingo work hard and clearly take pride in their craft. My bathroom is beautiful, and I appreciate S&W's professionalism at each step of the process. Thank you again!

We are very pleased with the results. Wes was extremely professional, polite and punctual from the start when we engaged him. He has extensive knowledge of waterproofing using the Schluter shower system and we were intrigued enough to understand it well before we hired them. Renato and Domingo were his guys on the project and they kept everything clean and professional. Wes was also kind enough to introduce thru his contacts an professional plumber and that helped as we were relatively new here. Wes and his team worked very hard and did a great job helping us choose the design and the approach as issues arose. We liked the way the showers ended up looking like and are now moving forward with giving him a much bigger job in re-tiling and water proofing our master bath. We look forward to the same excellent work on that as well.

Highly professional, quality detail-oriented work, prompt completion. I could not be happier with the work completed by Wes, Renato, and Domingo. The finished job is perfect, even more beautiful than I had imagined. It's porcelain subway tile with a stone finish throughout the shower, matching 2x2 on the floor, ceiling, and niche. The shower bench and thresholds are Caesarstone. The floor is 12x24 darker porcelain tile with a stone finish. There were several specific areas where they excelled: Initially, I was worried about acting as my own general contractor. Seriously, I have to draw pictures of things because I don't know what they are actually called. Wes made it really easy for me, answering all my questions and providing references to other service providers when I asked (all of whose prices were very reasonable). Each morning when they arrived, we would discuss what had been done the day before, what the plans were that day. Then I was off to work and everything moved smoothly. If there were any questions during the day, a quick text message took care of it. Renato and I share a very similar aesthetic. I was trying to explain what I wanted in a drawing (basically none of those tiny little slivers of tile in the corner), and he showed me a way that we could do it by placing tiles against the wall. By figuring out the pattern that way, I was extremely confident in the appearance of the final product even though I could not be there during work hours. It was absolutely perfect, completely justifying my faith in Renato. One factor behind choosing S&W Tile was how quickly they could finish the job. By using the Schluter system, they were able to complete the tile quickly and with a waterproof installation. Because the time was shorter, my husband was concerned that they might take longer than promised. Nope! We had added some buffer days because I knew that part of the house was bizarrely constructed (studs in weird places and not exactly vertical), but they finished in exactly 7 working days. That even includes one day when they had to stop early because Renato was sick. Accommodating and educating me on what I needed to know on other pieces. Wes helpfully answered my questions about types of stone for the bench and threshold, preferred types of tile with the Schluter system, and exactly how to explain what I needed to the stone fabricator. When I messed up and the door threshold was too thick, he told me exactly how to explain what I needed to get it fixed. Plus, one of the guys stopped by the fabricator on the way in so that I didn't have to take time off from work! Wes provided clear explanations of all of my options. Before even visiting, he told me his guess as to what was likely wrong and that I had two options: a $2000 patch that may or may not work, or a $11-12,000 permanent fix, which would require redoing all the tile. After a look at the household budget and the fact that I never really liked the old tiles anyway, I decided to just redo the entire bathroom. The final estimate (which was exactly what I paid) includes some extras in the shower plus redoing the floor plus installing a floor heat system. Very reasonable price given the competing quotes I received. In case it is not clear from the novella I have written, I whole-heartedly endorse S&W Tile. I have been telling everybody at work who mentions they are doing tile work. And now I have told you. Give them a call and check out what they can offer.

This is the second time we've had Wes and his team do work on our bathrooms -- a few years ago they put in new floor tiles in another bathroom, and did a fantastic job. This time the results were even more stunning. His team made great decisions on how to lay out the rather large wall tiles, coming up with a perfect fit for the space. They removed the wood around the window in the shower/tub and installed stone pieces instead. They also installed new granite floors, and two granite threshold. Wes recommended a local tile store, which was great to work with; the quality of the tiles and the quality of Wes's work make the bathroom quite stunning. I enjoy working with Wes. He is easy to reach, and the installation process went so smoothly we didn't even need to be in contact during that process. We definitely plan on using them again in the future.

I could not be happier with my new bathroom and S & W tile's service and work. I first contacted Wes in late January because I thought our shower needed regrouted. After looking at some photos and coming out to our condo (on a Sunday no less), Wes concluded that the waterproofing in our existing shower was failing. That made sense to us since our shower had already started leaking into the bathroom of the unit below. Luckily Wes had a cancellation for late February and we were able to book for that date. I was incredibly impressed by how helpful Wes was with describing and documenting everything we would need to do to prepare for the work. Along with the contract he sent us an itemized list of all materials we would need to purchase and all of the other people we would need to get in touch with (plumber, trash removal, shower door company, etc). It made it very easy for us to figure out exactly what we needed to do and when, so that when the job started, it would go smoothly. Wes was also very responsive to questions between when we signed the contract and when the job was going to start. He also helped us figure out what sorts of questions we should be asking other vendors, in particular helping us make sure that the new shower door we are having installed would be just as watertight as the rest of the shower. When the job was starting, Wes again checked with us to make sure everything was in order. He and his guys showed up exactly when they said the first day and explained all the steps of the process and made sure I didn't have any questions before starting. I was most concerned with the demo phase because we already knew there was a leak, but everything went as expected luckily. The guys showed up right on time every morning and I was incredibly impressed by how conscientious they were about keeping our bedroom as clean as possible every day, since there was really nowhere else in our condo for them to work. They finished exactly when they expected, and Wes was great about stopping by and checking in over the phone as the job progressed to make sure I was happy with the progress. The new tile is absolutely beautiful and I couldn't be happier with it! I really can't say enough good things about the quality of S & W's work and their professionalism and I would absolutely hire them again for any tiling work I needed.

Wes and his team were great to work with. Our neighbors had used them last year, so we reached out to them hoping they could fix our problem. Our beautiful marble shower was leaking into our kitchen, and after numerous attempts at recaulking, we gave up. The original contractors installed the shower without any waterproofing, and used a copper pan system. We kindly payed the $75 fee to have him out to look at our shower. By the end of the visit we had come up with a gameplan which involved tearing out our all marble shower, installing a Schluter Shower System, and retiling with a porcelain tile. Wes was very thorough in outlining all the steps, what we needed to purchase, and what he would provide. Never once did we feel like he was trying to upsell us, or steer us in a more expensive direction. They showed up on a Monday at 7:00am, and were completely finished by that Thursday evening. We think out of all the contractors we've ever used, they by far were the cleanest, most efficient, and punctual.

I asked them if my job was too small for them and they insisted it was not. Before coming to my house, the provider, S&W Tile, asked me to provide pictures of the bathroom, which I did. They missed the first appointment and had to reschedule. At no time did they mention a charge for coming up with a written quote. It was clear after looking at the bathroom, Wes O'Connor (617) 785-5128 www.sandwtile.com went into a long sales pitch as to why I needed all new wall tile, a new shower stall and why I should spend, at least, $15,000 - $20,000 with him. When I asked him for a quote just for the bathroom tile floor, he said that he had to provide a minimum because he would need two workers. It was clear all along that he was only interested in big jobs. His verbal quote was double what 4 others were quoting. He insisted that I pay him $75.00 for this verbal quote, which I did. I found him to be highly unprofessional. He is, in my opinion, untrustworthy.

Wes arrived on time to provide the estimate and was very specific about the details of the project and cost of each item in the project. His estimate was higher than others I had obtained, but I chose to hire S & W tile based on their Angie's List reviews. Wes and his two workers (Renato and Domingo) arrived exactly on time on the first day of the job and did a great job updating our bathrooms and stairway (last tiled in the 1990's). Renato and Domingo were very meticulous about their work---and took great care to avoid soiling other areas of the home. They cleaned up very well at the end of each day and made sure the house was properly locked upon their departure.

S & W did a terrific job! Wes is a consummate professional who truly knows his business. He was organized, focused, and kept to the schedule. He laid out in advance a game plan and provided a timetable to accomplish it. He made excellent suggestions at key points in the process. His staff were skilled professionals - courteous, efficient, prompt, and maintained a very clean work environment.

Ours was a peculiar request, we did our countertops from Lowes and we had to demolish our existing backsplash and relay new tiles. Wes from S&W Tile was very helpful in making us understand how the process goes and how long it would take. Especially when the job was at short notice and during the holidays. We provided them with grout and the tile, one day for demolishing and prepping the surface and another to relay the tiles. His team was very punctual, professional and did a lovely job.

Then Wes came out to scope out the job and give me some ideas of different ways to approach the problem with our shower. S&W Tile recently finished installing our kitchen backsplash, and we are very happy with their work. The gentlemen who did the actual tiling were very prompt, hardworking and professional, and the final result exceeded our expectations. I am overjoyed by the quality of work that was performed by S & W Tile. Wes and his team finished the job in three days, from start to finish, including scheduling the plumber. Wes was able to find a tile that matched the existing wall tile, so that we did not have to take all the wall tile off, and it blends seamlessly. Wes' team clearly take pride in their work, they put in long days to finish up the job before the holidays and did a nice clean up at the end. They came on time. The did a quick job. It was high quality work. They were very clean. They were easy to communicate with.

Working with Wes was easy because he was very professional and provided all the necessary information. Determining that we needed the service was easy because the shower floor had started to collapse. Needed to protect the investment. Wes walked us through how to purchase the tiles and other materials we wanted at the lowest possible cost. Buying tiles is never a fun experience but we got it done. Wes was able to start the job early which was a plus for us. Demo was completed quickly despite over-construction (lots of studs and screws). The guys always showed up on time and worked long days to keep the job on schedule which we really appreciated. Dust and debris were kept to a minimum and the guys cleaned up after themselves. The job was completed as scheduled in four days. Wes was able to cut $800 off his price because the guys were able to save the bullnose tile outside the shower door. Add the refund for the new bullnose and we saved quite a bit. Our shower was very good looking before the job despite the collapsing floor. I was worried that we'd end up with a water tight but not as snazzy tile, but it ended up looking even better than before. Terrific job Wes & crew. My wife and I recommend this company highly.

Excellent experience start to finish. Everything was completed as discussed during the initial consult / estimation. Arrived on the day quoted, completed the job a day early and the quality of the work is superb. Highly recommend Wes and his team.

Wes was very professional and always showed up on time. He was also very responsive when setting up the job. The job itself went very smoothly. The two men who worked every day installing the tile did an awesome job, they were very nice and respectful. I was very impressed with how clean the area outside of the bathroom being worked on was kept- minimal dust for ripping out shower walls and cutting new tile. I was also happy with how the bathroom itself was cleaned and tidied before they left every night. The job took 6 days, and the final result is beautiful. The tile work is excellent, and the detail work is perfect. And I'm a perfectionist so little mistakes jump out to me... haven't found anything yet, and am not expecting to. There were a couple things that were not clear upfront, because I needed to "be the general contractor"- things like the fact that the shower door is installed by a separate company, that the marble we got needed to be pre-drilled with holes, that the pick up of the bagster used to dispose of the construction material needed to be scheduled and paid for by me. Nothing was a big deal, but I felt like it could have been more clear from the get-go. There was also a miscommunication about the sizing of the marble, that left us with an overhang larger than we would have chosen ourselves... but again, not a big deal. Overall we are very pleased with both the finished work and the experience of working with the S&W Tile guys.

This is the second time I used this company and they are wonderful. The quality of the work is completely dependable. They not only do an excellent job, they keep the customer fully involved in communicating any potential issues with choices we may be considering in terms of how things would look or work functionally. This is very helpful in avoiding extra costs or problems down the road. Also, they are very knowledgeable, they even provided us with counsel on how to avoid mold down the road; educating us on the source of mold... Shampoo/conditioner as the actual source of mold growth due to its organic compounds. Wes, the owner is a wonderful on all levels leading a great team of professionals.
