Titan Plumbing & Heating

Jared came on 10/31 (right after the big storm) to look at our system (though we didn't understand that was all they would do at that point). He talked to us about what it would need and discussed the different plans they had available. It made sense for us to buy the Gold plan given what it needed in our recently purchased house with a boiler that had been given the minimum attention. Turned out to be a good plan so far, as the thermocouple also needed replacing, and he was super nice and replaced the air vent too, which wasn't letting air in or out. The system had never been cleaned, so we're hoping this helps our heating bills a little if the system is more efficient. Jared was very professional, called when he was running a little late (because of the storm), and looked out for our cats while going in and out the door. He cleaned up his work area well, too. We had to reschedule the appointment twice; once because the computers were down after the storm and he got double booked and once because he was up all night replacing a boiler for another customer and was going to be a zombie. (Turns out it worked better for us since we would have been zombies after a night in the ER with a sick kid!) I'm looking forward to the cleaning and "get to know your house" tour in the spring.

When the bid came in for that work, the price quote was around $4000. They wanted $2000 just to replace the kitchen sink. Since we had picked out a sink and fixtures that cost approximately $600 for the sink, we felt $2000 was excessive, so we asked for a breakdown of parts and labor to install the new sink. Titan told us that they didn't do cost breakdowns and refused to explain what the other $1400 of charges were for. Also, replacing the toilet and two faucets for $2000 seemed excessive to us, so based on the total pricetag of $4000 and their refusal to do a cost breakdown on the kitchen sink, we declined their offer. We felt that their behavior during the process, although polite, was arrogant and their refusal to do a cost breakdown of the repairs was unacceptable. We will not be using Titan Plumbing again.

plumber was on time, professional and knew what he was doing. gave helpful advice and was very pleasant as all of Titans employees seem to be.

I was having an energy audit performed and my furnace failed the test. The gas company had to be called and they shut down my furnace. Fortunately, it was May and the weather was warm! I called Titan and spoke with Jared. I explained the situation and he scheduled an appointment with me within two days. He came to my home and assessed the situation. My furnace was an old oil furnace that had been converted to gas; the "gun" was replaced with a gas gun. He advised me that he could "tune up the furnace" but it looked like I should really replace it. This did not surprise me. The furnace was quite old and as I said, had been converted to gas more that a decade ago. When I said I'd be interested in replacing it, he began taking measurements of the rooms in my house, making calculations based on the number of windows, checking vents, etc. in every room of my home. He was very personable and professional and took the time to explain what he was doing and why to me with tremendous patience. He made suggestions based on his assessment and I settled on a furnace. We made an appointment for a replacement and he and a co-worker showed up on the scheduled day at the scheduled time. They dismantled my old furnace and removed it. They installed the new furnace within the time frame Jared quoted me. They were both very down to earth and hard working. Jared called me down to the basement several times to show me problems and/or concerns that he felt needed to be addressed. He pointed out several places where gas had been leaking out of pipes. Again, he was very patient in explaining everything to me. They wound up having to replace some pipes and make some adjustments to the piping to my hot water heater. Not only did they do all that for free, but they also found some issues with my hot water heater that they took care of at no extra charge to me. I could not have been more happy with their work. Every time I called, I got a response within an hour. Any questions I had, they answered. Anything I didn't understand, they explained until I did. Plus, Jared even came by a week or so later to help me fill out a rebate form. That was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise. Another employee (I don't remember his name) came out when the town inspector arrived to approve the work. Again, very personable,very professional, very knowledgeable (even more so than the inspector! He had to explain code to the inspector!!). Jared even called after the inspection to confirm that everything was OK. Titan's concern for the customer was just incredible to me. What a welcome change from other contractors I've had to deal with over the years. I would highly recommend Titan with absolutely no reservations. In fact, I have told everyone I know what a great experience it was working with them.

I was given a window of 10-12 and at 11:15 they called to say they were running late but were in our town & on their way. In my mind they weren't late yet, so that was a pleasant surprise. I met the plumber out front and explained that my dog will be on a leash and is afraid of new people, so please don't reach for him to "make friends" since it terrifies him and he'll pee. I've had about a 50% success rate getting people to understand that, but this guy was GREAT. He walked in and ignored the dog, in 5 minutes the dog was completely comfortable around him. Score 1 for the plumber! The range came with some tricky anti-tip brackets and it took several tries to get them installed correctly. He persevered & got the range into a very tight spot after several tries. Overall, I don't think Titan is going to be the cheapest plumbing company to use. But when it comes to water and gas I really don't want a leak (gas will kill & water leaks grow mold & mildew). I'd rather pay a little more and be sure the job is done well and with attention to detail. When you factor in the quality & timeliness of their service (we called the day before & they squeezed us in) I think they are a very good value. We have a bathroom remodel coming up and I hope to use them again.

Jared is very professional, knowledgeable, and thorough and takes great pride in his work. From the beginning bid process through install and followup everything went smoothly, all of my questions were answered and the work is of the highest quality . The work is precise, they used the best materials, they were on time and they cleaned up when they were done. It was a pleasure to deal with all of the crew and I am extremely pleased with the results. I can't wait to see how much money I save in heating costs next winter.

I bought a special for them but I was not satisfied with them. The first thing they tried to do was sell me a contract. They told me that if I signed on then I could pay up upfront and then I don't have to worry about anything. They would honor the warranty. He basically said that his company would do things that other companies wouldn't. I asked him how he could make that statement and he told me because he knew. It felt like that they were pushing for the warranty for plumbing and hot water heating. I did take out a contract but then I thought about it and canceled. I tried to ask him a question and he didn't let me finish. He kept filling in the blanks and I told him that was not what I was going to ask him. He was going on telling me what he would do in that case with out listening to my question. I wasn't happy with them at all. I didn't like their attitude. They just came and checked a few things which were leaking. They were just checking to see how the systems were working in general and I had them replace a new water heater. They were on time but I would give them a poor because they did not listen. They had an agenda to sell a contract and that they would provide services which no other company would provide which I thought was not the right way to go about it. He was on time and he got back to me on time.

The person who actually performed the inspection was a young man named Jason, who showed up on time and did a great job. He explained everything he was looking at and gave us a detailed list what he found, along with recommended plumbing work. I found the recommended work a little pricey, but not terrible.

The folks from Titan were nice enough but I left with the feeling that I was schmoozed and overcharged for the service. They didn't fix it correctly the first time and came back a second time to bill me just as much. In all, I paid $800 for them to replace a simple mixer valve. The tech acted more like a salesmen. He was late one of the sessions and didn't leave me with a good feeling.

Jared is so punctual and easy to work with. On a previous visit he had pointed out that my water heater was way, way past its expected life and during the plumbing inspection he performed most recently, he again pointed it out. I know most fellow condo owners have already had to replace theirs so now was the time. I never felt pressure from Jared; we just had an intelligent discussion. He performed the work in a very reasonable amount of time, showed me everything, and left everything cleaner than he found it. I will definitely continue to use Titan Plumbing.

We wanted to use them for a Big Deal. They never actually did the work. It was a bait-and-switch. They came out and said they couldn't do it because we didn't have the right type of heater. They ended up not doing the primary thing they were supposed to do. We had to pay the money. They were supposed to flush our basement water heater. They said it wasn't accessible. We thought it was really cheap. They should have explained the deal better. We paid for something they didn't do. They gave us a $300 quote to do the work, which was fishy. I thought they were dishonest. They didn't do the work that they advertised. It seemed like they just wanted to make money giving estimates. They were punctual.

The plumber came out and was very thorough with his inspection and gave us a list of suggested updates. I had my plumber come out and go over the list of suggestions and he was impressed with the thoroughness. The original price from Titan to perform all the suggested work was very high when compared to what my plumber was willing to do.

Jason was great from the very beginning. He took his time checking everything before giving us an estimate, and even had the owner of the company come to the house to double-check how he was planning on running the gas line (the placement of the furnace complicated the job quite a bit, as it was in exactly the wrong place). He communicated very clearly with us and explained what he would do and why. He actually had to come back on a different day because our dishwasher wasn't the right size, and he installed the replacement dishwasher once we got that in. We were extremely happy with how friendly and professional Jason and the other two guys who were helping out during the gas line installation were, and we signed up for their yearly maintenance program because we will absolutely use them in the future. I was also quite happy that someone from their office called after the work was completed to ask some survey questions about the work done to ensure that I was happy with Jason's work and professionalism. I was floored that a plumbing company would take the time to do that (since most of the other companies I contacted never got back to me, and one company simply said "If you have someone else out to do an estimate, let me know what they say and I'll tell you how much I'd charge"!), and it really impressed me. We would very, very highly recommend Titan to anyone looking for a good plumber!

They gave me and estimate to replace my faucet it would cost $431 not even including the actual faucet. The representative that came out was very nice.

Their estimate wasn't the cheapest, but it was the most comprehensive. They happily priced out multiple options for the project, including the last minute addition of the laundry sink during the first site visit. The install went smoothly (even if Jared acquired a scar to remember the job by). Since the install was spread over two days, they were thoughtful enough to leave the hot water working so we could shower on the second morning. The resulting system is well-built, has kept us nice and toasty this past winter, and is even beautiful to look at.

We have used Titan prior to them being on Angie's List. Titan is great. They replaced our heating system from oil to gas a few years ago so they know our system. Tim is the owner. Jarad is an employee that we use regularly because he knows our system well. He is very knowledgeable and punctual. He is a nice, trustworthy guy. We recommend Titan to our friends. They are pricey, but I think all plumbers are!

Contractor was prompt in responding and showed up as promised to review the job. Responded promptly with a quote but was too much for our budget.

I worked with Jared, who was exceptional. He walked me through everything, and didn't mind me watching him work, and he explained things as he went along. I also purchased a service contract through Titan, as I was so impressed with the service. He cleaned up everything as he went along, and was very personable. I can't say enough about this company. I have worked with a half dozen plumbers in the past, and usually it ends up in me finding someone else to correct it. While I found it to be pricey, I'd rather pay 10% more for excellent service than get garbage service that I have to fix later.

We have a rear outlet toilet that was leaking. Upon removing the toilet from the wall, we discovered that the flange was broken. When they did the plumbing in our building in the 80s, they did a very poor job. Jared from Titan did our work. He was very pleasant and professional. Because the flange was broken, he had to cut the pipe to the stack in the wall and replace that portion of piping and put in a new flange. Our water line was also bent - again, poor work from the original plumbers who put everything together in 1986. Jared re-piped the water line and replaced the shut off. We had one appointment where he cut the pipe out, and a second appointment where he installed the new flange, toilet, and water line. He had to do it in two installments because we had to cut out a big section of drywall for him to access the pipes. We repaired the drywall and he came back a second time to install the new flange, toilet, and water line. He did quality work, was very responsive over the phone, thought creatively about how to solve problems related to the poor construction in our building, and and finished the work in a timely manner. We now have a toilet with no leaks! I would definitely recommend Titan to friends and family members.

Titan Plumbing and Heating did an excellent job; I cannot say enough about their work, they are professional, courteous, and efficient. The quality is excellent and their responsiveness and customer service is some of the best I have ever had with any contractor! Tim is excellent and his crew Jason and Dan were awesome, very nice guys, knowledgable and personable. I highly recommend them and their work. We plan to use them again in the future for some planned bathroom and kitchen remodeling. I did not expect or want to do all of these repairs; however, I am very glad I chose Titan for the work. Use them; you will not be disappointed!

I was nervous, but things could not have gone smoother and I was very impressed with how swiftly they were in and out. They were courteous and professional as well. I especially appreciated the fact that when they came out for the initial estimate I was not given a sales pitch on furnaces. Instead he performed a very thorough assessment of the job and discussed what he could offer for furnaces, but readily admitted that the special deals through National Grid could not be beat. I will definitely call Titan if I'm ever in need of heating or plumbing services in the future.

Excellent experience overall, would/will use Titan again, was my first experience with Angies list, first time out more than covered the cost of membership. Titan promptly returned my calls, they showed up on time (actually early) gave me pricing options and fixed the problem first time with minimum drama. The only reason that I did not give A overall ranking is that I am by nature a hard grader.

Someone always answers the phone when you call which is nice. I was able to get scheduled within a short time. They are knowledgeable and fairly neat for being plumbers.

They are very dependable, they have been great so far. They did have some major work to do for us over a year ago and the technician was great. He got the work taken care of and was very good with explaining the options and when I checked him out independently, everything he said was accurate.

They are the only people we would trust with our steam heat. Our heating bills have gone down since we have started using them. They are expensive, but they are cheaper than having someone do the wrong work and pay more to have it fixed.
