Not well. I never received a return phone on how to proceed, or an offer for a full refund.
Description of Work: I purchased 1 Year Supply of Bio Clean Organic Drain Cleaning through Angie's Big Deal. I called no less than three times to find out when I would receive my product. I was by a cordial woman at Titan that she would get back to me, but that the product would be too expensive to ship to my home. I understood that, but suggested that Titan deliver the product when working around my area. The Big Deal did not specify a limitation on area of service - don't know whether this was the responsibility of Angie's List or Titan.Never received a return phone call. Very disappointed. Note that Angie's List requires a service date in order to submit a review. As there was no service provided, the date is approximate around the time I called.

Sorry about the mix up. As you were told by our office manager, the Bio-Clean deal did not include delivery or shipping. Titan does not take payment for The Deals Angie's List does. Please contact Angie's List to get your refund or schedule a time to pick up your product. We are sorry you are not happy with the deal, it is still redeemable if you wish.

Our issue is an aging sewer line that needs frequent cleanings (every 6 mos. or more), we are considering expensive excavation work and want to see the condition of the line prior to spending upwards of $4000. On date of service, the technicians arrived, were punctual and courteous, set up televising equipment, new and high quality, some difficulties in making a dvd copy and locating the camera once in the sewer line, technicians were generous with their time in trying to figure out the equipment, a little disappointing not to have a more detailed product, but very helpful considering the televising was offered as a free service. Then the technicians rodded the line - I think this is basically using a mechanized snake. No problems there, and our sewer line seems to be operating with no issue following the procedure. For $99 a great service - since even the rodding alone usually costs $250 or more. Now we also have a DVD as a resource in determining our next course of action.
Description of Work: sewer cleaning / rodding plus televising

We purchased two home humidifier coupons through an Angie's List Deal of the Day, one for each unit in our building. The folks from Titan came out to assess, let us know that some modification would be necessary at an additional cost, and offered to cancel the coupon if we didn't want to do the modification. We chose to proceed. They returned on the service date and installed the equipment. Professional and courteous, no issues with the installation, new humidifiers have been working fine.

I needed a gas stove disconnected to have new flooring installed. I got a quote of $580 to have my stove disconnected and then reconnected at another day. That is an outrageous amount of money for what amounts to 10-15 minutes of work. I ended up doing the work myself. I'm very disappointed with this company. They seemed to be taking advantage of the situation as I was already in the middle of having my floor dismantled and needed the stove out.

Sorry you feel we tried to take advantage of you with our estimate. We do provide a service that requires licensing and training in gas repairs and installations. There is quite a lot that goes into running a legitimate plumbing corporation that you may not see. Overhead is a major part; trucks, gas, advertising, training, payroll, phones, schooling, etc., not forgetting insurance. Unless you had a qualified installer provide your gas service you will not be covered for a gas issue, for example an explosion. Installing gas appliances in MA without a license and permit is a criminal offense, and is also very dangerous. Again sorry you did not like our price. I wish you luck and hope you and your family remain safe. Hire a legitimate gas installer please! Best Regards, Tim (Owner) Titan Plumbing and Heating Inc.

During last year's annual plumbing maintenance visit (we have a service contract with Titan that includes these visits), Jared warned us that this toilet was going to need to be replaced. And he was right. Thanks to the warning, we were able to budget for the replacement - much better than having to scramble to find the money! We got a lower price because of our service agreement, and were able to use one of Titan's Big Deals to get a discount. When we were ready, Jared came out to discuss options for disabled-friendly toilets, and recommended a particular Toto model. His recommendations matched my research, but then again, I've always had good, thoughtful advice from the folks at Titan. Jared came back a week later, and in less than two hours he was done. He left behind a tidy bathroom....and a sparkling new toilet!

At first we went with Titan for our new furnace. We found them to be the best overall cost as well as the most professional and personable of all the quotes. They were not the least expensive but I found their pricing to be fair for larger projects. The owner Tim was very friendly and helpful on the estimate and made the whole process very easy to understand. The workers who came in were clean and polite. We were so pleased we have called back several times for various projects. We had a hot water tank break and Titan was there in a day to fix it. We have called in on the weekends and recieved a speedy response and quick service in our emergency. They have a great service and work ethic. I would recommend them to anyone who need a good honest plumber.

Used the $349 offer from Angies list for installation of humidifier. Was told that the unit for water supply was not legal in Ma. so I would have to have a shut off installed. The cost would be $257. What was I to do, I told him to go ahead and do it. The person was on time and did good work but the bait and switch was not appreciated. The $349 job ended up $606. For that reason I would not use them again.

First, I appologize for how you feel that Titan gave you a less than honest proposal. However, I reviewed the proposal given to you and you were clearly provided other options than the one you chose. Yes the valve (existing in your home/ installed by others), is illegal per MA plumbing code regulations. We will not install an illegal valve and jepordize your home and safety. You did not have to choose that option, nor did you have to choose us to install the humidifier. I am sorry you are unhappy, however I am not sure what else we could have done or provided to make you satisfied. Best Regards, Tim Cossette

12/16 Never arrived for first appointment I had to call them to find out they were not coming rescheduled for 12/29 showed up late in day, did not have proper equipment had to go back to previous job. Spent little time at furnace most of time spent getting specs for other work I asked to have done at later date. Six weeks later, furnace malfunctions, should have been caught if inspection/cleaning had been performed properly. Called early in morning no response til late in day, had to call another heating cont. who also showed me how dirty my furnace was suggesting I have it cleaned. Told him just done he took me down and showed me, obviously not cleaned 6 weeks ago. Also never got estimate for other work - need more returns and heat ducts for recent addition also a whole house humidifier. Through Abbie's list requested full refund rec'd it this week.

I want to apologize for our scheduling issues and for our technician Jason leaving a part to his soot vacuum behind on the way to your home. That day he found out his dad was rushed to the hospital. He was not in his normal frame of mind, so to speak. He did return that night and clean the furnace per the coupon requirements. We have all time and travel recorded via GPS tracking. You did not get your proposal due to Jason not returning to our office for 2 weeks during which he endured hospice and the final passing of his father. He had the paperwork. Upon your original complaint, you did not ask for a remedy. We called and told you we would refund you in full. We did clean the furnace. You specifically told our office manager that the reason for the furnace was not working was the batteries in your thermostat died. Six weeks after the appointment. Thermostat batteries were not part of the deal, though Jason did check them at the time and they were OK. I feel bad about the situation. Jason is one of our best technicians. For all who read this please look at past reports about Jason for verification. I hope this solves the issue with the customer. Best regards, Tim C.

We had a loud humming sound develop in our pipes that resonated through the house. First thought it was the water meter - no change when the city changed it out. Called Titan Plumbing & Heating and they came out within 2 hours. I found the cause prior to Jason's arrival (slow leak in the outside faucet). He looked around to be sure there was nothing else wrong. He didn't charge us anything and was very professional.

Inspected toilet. Replaced flapper. Did the Blue Dye test. Evaluated further need for repairs (floater). After consulting with Client and agreement on price, they replaced it. Overall service was for around 30 minutes.
Description of Work: Hired them as a result of a coupon code from Angie's List to inspect and tune up a toilet. Very professional, punctual, and work done very well. The work promised in the coupon was completed to our satisfaction. They do offer to provide extra services (like replace a toilet floater) at very high prices - don't even discount the fact they are already at the house looking at the same toilet included in the coupon code. We decided to purchase their services, so it is not their fault. Just be aware they are probably expensive.

I'm new to the area and didn't have a plumber. The dishwasher was an immediate problem and the old toilet was something I'd been meaning to have looked at since we moved in. I went to Angie's List and chose Titan Plumbing & Heating because of their high ratings and because of their proximity to where we live. The plumber, Jason, arrived promptly and it was immediately apparent that he knew what he was doing. Jason was pleasant, professional, personable and thorough and very knowledgeable on any issue that we asked about. He was very responsive to our concerns and to all questions. After numerous tests of our plumbing, tubes, drainage, disposal unit, etc, he concluded that the dishwasher problem was an issue with the appliance itself (an analysis that ultimately proved to be correct) and not a plumbing issue. He told us that we would need an appliance repair service. He even offered to help find one but we knew we had Angie's List as a resource. He then went to work on the 2 toilets. Jason offered and priced out 3 options for the toilets - a minor rebuild, a major rebuild and replacement. On the final option, he suggested two alternatives: either have Titan supply and install a new toilet or have us purchase our own toilet and have them install it. He specifically outlined the pros and cons (as well as specific relative costs) for each option and patiently responded to all of our questions and concerns. We did not feel pushed or led in any direction and, at all times, we were impressed with Jason's professionalism and scope of knowledge. In the end, we decided to purchase our own toilet and have Titan install it. There was no charge for Jason's prolonged visit and we willingly agreed to pay half down on the ultimate cost of Titan's installation. We left it that we would call Jason for the install when we received the new toilet. Jason left for his next job in another town. Some time after Jason's departure, I discovered that water had begun to seep into the dishwasher again. Without much hope of assistance at this time, I called the company again, fearful of another dishwasher overflow. They were pleasant and concerned on the phone and told me they'd try to get hold of Jason. They were able to. Jason called me right back and said he'd be on his way back to our place. Wow. In the meantime, he said he'd pursue some further thoughts on what the issue could be with the dishwasher and would share them when he returned. Upon return, he patiently repeated all his tests and confirmed his original diagnosis. This time, he turned off the water to the dishwasher totally so that we'd have no concern about more leakage until we could get an appliance repair person in. He apologized profusely, when he hold us that he would have to charge for this 2nd trip to our house in the same, but he only charged us $100 for the visit - less than Titan's normal house-call charge and, in my opinion, extremely reasonable for all the time that the ever-pleasant and engaging Jason spent at our house. Jason returned and installed the toilet after it was delivered. Very satisfied with his service. The only negative about Titan is that I think their prices are high. But they do good work.
Description of Work: I called Titan because our dishwasher had overflowed twice and then leaked to the room below. I needed to find out what was causing this or at least have the water turned off until I could get it fixed. I also had some trouble with 2 toilets - the worse being an old one that had a deteriorating seal (causing the water to refill on a regular basis) and that collected mold in the bowl after a few days of no use.

It was no pressure, extremely easy, and thorough experience. The prices were not very high, I think they were on par with plumbing services. He was just a nice guy and patient while I have a 2 year old running around. He fixed the issue and was very knowledgeable about our steam system (many plumbers don't know what that it is anymore). He advised us without upselling what else we need to do in our old house. He gave us options and notified us what could wait. We ended up signing a gold level maintenance contract ($350 of the cost) with them. We will probably change the hot water heater at some point.

Jared was professional and he and his team explained the process and work that needed to be done with the boiler. We initially signed up with the Big Deal promotion but misread the deal to include gas forced hot water systems. Jared explained our poject was more labor intensive and instructed us to contact Angie's list for a refund. Angies list promptly refunded our money. Jared was also able to give us quotes for future maintenance related work that needed to be done as well. He was very thorough and provided all the pricing and services up front. They have an annual maintenance program that you can sign up for which would get you discounts on future services and priority emergency service.

Excellent service, I filed a report yesterday that Titan had been unresponsive but they contacted me immediately . They sent Jared out the next day and he carefully examined my heating and disposal issues. I like that he gave several options for each problem and found one or two other issues he noticed while working. The pricing was reasonable and Jared is very knowledgeable . I have used Titan for years and will continue to to so, the phone issue I had last week is under investigation by Jared himself.
Description of Work: I had a disposal reconnected that had been installed incorrectly by another plumbing company and I replaced an electrical valve on my heating system. Jared also tightened up a leaking supply valve on a sink.

All my experience with Titan to date has been excellent. Jared's knowledge and competence, along with his open and informative personality, made everything very satisfactory. I wil say that I probably could get the work done elsewhere for less but I have learned over time that you get what you pay for. I feel that prompt response, competent work and peace of mind are worth something extra.
Description of Work: I responded to Titan's Angie's List coupon offer of $89 to clean my furnace. I have both a furnace and a boiler for the old and new parts of my house. Forced hot air in the old and radiant heat in new. Other than 2 expansion tank replacements, I had not had service performed on either system for nearly 10 years and had grown increasingly concerned that service was long overdue. When I had recently had an expansion tank replacement I used a local company in hope of finding a good long-term service company. I wasn't impressed by the service tech's knowledge and competence. (I'm in construction so I know enough to be dangerous.) When Titan's tech, Jared, arrived we talked about my furnace, which is old. He showed me deterioration caused by age and use that I had not noticed. He recommended that I install CO detectors (which I have done) and, at my request, gave me a price to repace the furnace which i am considering. He then, at no extra charge, examined my boiler/radiant heat system with me and impressed the heck out of me with his knowledge. This system is in the addition my wife and I built so I know a lot about it. Jared was able to point out several features that should have been installed differently that would improve the efficiency. (I had a plumber, not a heating tech, install the system.) Since then Jared has cleaned the boiler and modified some of the piping to significantly improve the system's performance. It is no longer short-cycling as it had been. The boiler flame is back to a healthy blue color. And noises I now know were caused by entrained air are no longer there. And he also helped me make some modifications that I had intended to do myself.

I had a new water heater on my mind for awhile due to the age of my current one and after buying a discount membership for a toilet installation (not related to this review but that one went fine) I decided to have Titan come back and do the installation. I had noticed a slowly growing stain on my dining room ceiling and asked him to troubleshoot that as well. Jared guessed at condensation over the hot summer due to the unuse of the upstairs fixtures and that it would be a fee for him to open the ceiling to take a look and that I should do it myself. I did so and discovered a very slow leak from a water line solder joint. Jared and colleague came back to repair the bad section and further opened the ceiling and replaced the pipe for $245, which appeared to be a standard price from his list. I was given a few options for a new water heater and chose a power vented one. The quote itemized much of the work, except electrical which I would need to handle myself. Jared recommended an electrician but after looking him up on the state's licensing website, he showed as an apprentice with an expired license. Needless to say, I chose another company from Angie's List. Jared and colleague returned after the electrical work to install the water heater. He took time to place the unit and piping carefully in a cluttered area and efficiently completed all the hookups and flushed the system. Jared is polite and knows his stuff but talks quickly which may come across to some people a little salesman-like, but will answer all your questions to your satisfaction.
Description of Work: Jared fixed a leaking water pipe in my ceiling and installed a new gas water heater. Price reflects a discount from a previously purchased service plan.

I was upset that the "diagnostic fee" was not disclosed, and that the $188 fee for the second visit with the part was simply rewarding Titan for not having the part in inventory. I refused to pay the diagnostic fee and terminated my business relationship with Titan. To his credit, the young serviceman was very polite and diplomatic about this.
Description of Work: Upstairs gas furnace was not working. I was told that a man would be out at the end of the day, and that there would be a $150 fee. The serviceman arrived punctually and spent 1.5 hours trying to diagnose the problem. He said he would need to order a part the next day which might solve the problem. I was then told that there was an additional $270 "Diagnostic Fee". When he came back with the part there would also be another $188 service fee plus the cost of the part (which the serviceman did not know). In other words, the combined charge would be over $600 plus parts for a solution that MIGHT work. In addition, I was subjected to a sales pitch on replacing the 13 year old furnace (also the case on earlier visits from Titan with regards to my other furnace.)

Jarod came out to replace 3 parts on my furnace (expansion tank, T&P, pressure relief valve) after I discovered water in my basement. This repair should've been $200 in parts plus labor and they charged me $1138!! I paid it because it was an emergency. These 3 parts simply screwed on light light bulbs (no solder)!! About an hours worth of work. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!! One problem was that Jared didn't solder back the copper pipe on the pressure release valve which is REQUIRED by code! He put it on with a coupler and told me it was okay like that! I asked him about it and he said it was "fine like that so you can change the valve without cutting off the pipe every time." Also, because he didn't purge the system after replacing these 3 parts, he caused an air gap in my 3rd zone which made us lose heat all night on the floor where we sleep!! When questioned about purging the system after he replaced the 3 parts, he said it was $200 if I wanted him to purge the system! NONSENSE!! I called Jarod the following day after we lost heat and he said "well it wasn't anything I did yesterday." MORE NONSENSE!! Lastly, he tried to seem like he was saving the day by showing me that the temp in my furnace was at 220 degrees. He turned it down to 180 where he said it should be and blamed the plumber who installed my furnace. Steam is made at 212!!! He thought I was a stupid homeowner!! There is no way that I've been living with this newer boiler for 7 years at 220 degrees! I would've had a ton of serious problems!! I've never had any issues. I will NEVER use this company again...even in an emergency!! The F rating for price, quality, and professionalism are obvious from reading this post. The A rating responsiveness and punctuality was for how promptly they called me back and showed up at my home. The A ratings simply could not raise the overall experience with this company for the work they performed.
Description of Work: Jarod came out to replace 3 parts on my furnace (expansion tank, T&P, pressure relief valve) after I discovered water in my basement.

We believe they replaced the flapper on our toilet with one that is too big. You now have to hold the handle down for it to flush completely. They said our toilet could give way any day because the tank has been repaired. I am not satisfied with their service, price and reason for being late. They said they had a flat tire but they did not call me to let me know. If they would have just called me to let me know they were going to be late I would have understood.
Description of Work: They came out to replace a toilet flapper. We had other jobs we wanted them to do but they did not complete the first job in time because they were hour half late.
