We moved into a home where we were told had been landscaped by Macauley Brothers for years so we stuck with them - the past year I have been nothing but impressed by the team that comes to do the work and Nolisha (the admin) that answers the phone and emails! They even come for special requests for events etc to make sure our yard looks great for the occasion, I am so glad we inherited them as a company to take care of our home!

Their crew did a great job. Looks great. Adds lots of value to the home. Cleaned up everything when they left.

We had an extensive amount of work done by Macauley Brothers - a large retaining wall, pool patio hardscaping, steps, and landscaping. All work was done quickly and efficiently by a wonderful team of landscapers. It came out more beautiful than we imagined- the team was meticulous from start to finish! We were very happy with the results of our landscaping project done by Macauley Brothers. The new paver walkway looks fantastic. The front lawn was graded and and seeded and new grass started to appear just 4 days after it was sown. Grading was a challenge due to the roots of a large silver maple on one side but the crew was able to tackle it. The planting of the 8 ft arborvitaes required the removal of a few new sections of fence. The trees look great and the fence was put back up without a problem. Bernie Macauley was so easy to deal with from the initial estimate through completion. His crew was AWESOME too: polite, hard working and asked questions during installation to ensure that we got exactly what we wanted. The office staff communicated well too, keeping us appraised of start dates and working hard to source the exact Techno Bloc material that we wanted. Not an easy feat during the production issues and high demand caused by the pandemic. I highly recommend Macauley Brothers. Book early as this good landscaper's dance cards fill up early.

We've used Macauley Bros for ~7 years now, and they are hands down the best contractor of any kind we work with. Most recently, we asked Bernie to advise us on removing some older yew bushes and replacing all of the plantings in our front yard. Not only did he do the removals quickly and without any issues, but he advised on some beautiful new plants, shrubs, and trees that his team installed perfectly. We love how it turned out! (& so do our neighbors!) Bernie also went the extra mile by clearing a stuffed gutter that was giving us some drainage problems, and installed beautiful reservoirs at the bottom of our downspouts, to further help us when big storms hit. Bernie's crew is always professional, efficient, and extremely hardworking. We experimented with another crew a couple of years ago, and it wasn't even close -- they were nowhere near as talented or detail-oriented as Macauley Bros. If you go with Macauley Bros, you won't regret it.

The workers were/are excellent. They were efficient, timely and are professional brick layers & masons. They removed & disposed of old material, measured, layed bricks/stones, leveled, cut stone and removed & replaced landscaping. The quality of the work done is excellent. They answered all questions and showed me everything I was curious about (in ground sprinklers). It took a while to get my project done, but it was well worth the wait. My stairs/front walkway & retaining wall are beautiful !!!

Best yard has looked!! Professional, on time, courteous! Called office and Kathy answered and got me on a schedule right away. Crew came exactly when they were supposed to. I was out front when they arrived and Ed the foreman introduced himself , covered the scoop of work (he knew exactly what I asked for) and crew got right to work. Ed did the edging exactly how I asked , curvy and deep. Ed was extremely friendly and professional. Crew never stopped working and did more work in hours than previous landscaping company did in days!! When job was done Ed rang bell and had me walk yard to make sure it was done to my liking. Better than I expected!! Ed and crew even fixed up a few areas of yard that I had never really paid attention to and it make a big impact. Already booked next lawn cut and fall cleanup!!

I have used Macauley Bros Inc. in the past for fall clean up and this time I need a full yard fix. I find their pricing to be reasonable and their crews they have are very professional and do a great job. Most of my yard is on the curve of a hill with a steep incline and due to the rain in July and heat in August it was a hot mess. I had Edson and his crew arrive at my house and they worked non stop until the afternoon and what an amazing job they did. My yard looks like a yard is supposed to now. Would definitely hire Macauley again and in fact will be as they are replacing the fence around my dog's pen area.

Bernie showed up, on short notice, and gave a clear honest assessment of several failing retaining walls on a prospective property, allowing us to make an informed decision. He was great, fast, honest, and spelled out the challenges clearly and honestly. Thanks!!!

They answer their phones! It’s nice to talk to a person. We got a competitive quote from them. We liked Bernie who came out and gave us the estimate. We choose to go with Macaulay brothers and we were not disappointed! The crew showed up on time worked long days and did a beautiful job on the paver area that included a fire pit area. They were precise and left our yard better than when they arrived. Great crew of people. We look forward to doing our next project with them.

I put N/A on price since I didn’t get more than a couple quotes. I had previously used Bernie several times for various landscaping design and he’s a pleasure to do business with. Straight shooter, tries to save you money where available. My patio was a big job. It was 22 x 30, sitting walls on 2 sides where there was a couple feet of slope. The crew was masterful, great communication, clean job site, finished on schedule, and the pride they had in doing a great job was obvious. I’m a perfectionist and I was relieved to see they didn’t cut one corner. They landscaped the surrounding area beautifully. It came out fantastic. I never write reviews but will sing their praises to anyone. True story.

We could not be happier with the work Bernie, Gus and his team did on the front of our house (new walkway, driveway, new lawn with sod and two ornamental trees). Bernie is very responsive and constantly communicated with us throughout the process. Most of all, he cares. They did the work as if it was their own home, not only making it beautiful but using their expertise to make it more functional/useable. His crew, Gus and team, are highly skilled, professional and hardworking. They are very customer service oriented – Bernie and Gus listened to my requests and addressed every one of them to my complete satisfaction. The team worked efficiently and they leave the job site clean and tidy every day. The front of our house is totally transformed and we received numerous compliments from neighbors and walkers around the neighborhood about how great it looks. We highly recommend Macauley Brothers!

I've been around the block with hiring laborers that get the job done, but it is rare to see a team as honest, professional, and dedicated as these guys. I was recommended to them by my neighbor, since then, half of my neighborhood has used them for paver patios and walkways. Bernie's team of workers make the magic happen. They collaborated with another contractor who would be building a deck over the patio as well. I cannot recommend them enough.

The experience was wonderful from the first meeting. Macauley Brothers were professional, offered expert advice, and fair pricing. Bernie met me at the Garden Center and we hand picked every plant together. The entire crew was professional and polite, working hard and efficiently. And we're thrilled with the result! I had a fantastic experience with Bernie and his crew. Bernie helped me to plan a privacy wall of arborvitae trees in my yard, and his crew came and planted the trees, edged the bed, and put down some mulch. It looks great. The crew did an amazing job. They were polite, did a good job communicating with me, and made sure I was 100% happy with the work before they left. I will be hiring Macauley Brothers again!

removed 12 tree trunks, remove railroad ties retaining wall and rebuild a new retaining wall using landscaping lumber, install a large patio, removed a one car asphalt driveway and install a 30' plus walkway, install a low wall about 24' resurface all yard and seed for grass and help select plantings, plant a tree and 15 perennials and remove and replace crushed stones with warm tone stones and mulch where needed. They also installed a matching stone apron at the end of the driveway.

Incredible. Our project turned out better than even our wildest imaginations. Bernie and Gus had some incredible and creative ideas for our space and to say we are happy with the end result is an understatement. Beautiful, high quality work, extremely professional and responsive throughout. The crew worked so hard and got things done quickly. We couldn't be happier with everything.

Macauley Brothers do a great job. They really do. I had a 300-square foot patio installed. When I started the project, I made sure to receive quotes from several companies. Bernie Macauley stood apart from them. First, he showed up to my house on time. Second, he was well-informed about different ways to navigate some of the obstacles in my yard. He was the only one who brought reading material of the products he frequently uses, which gave me direction for my selection. More than the other companies, Bernie was personable, direct, and honest. After we discussed options, he emailed me a quote with a detailed breakdown of the work, along with the cost. Unlike the other companies, his quote explained the step-by-step work to be performed, and his price was less expensive than the others. Throughout the process, Bernie was incredibly responsive. He always, ALWAYS returned my calls or texts, and he had the answers to all my questions. During the install, the crew worked carefully and efficiently. They were meticulous and precise to make sure every square inch of the space was exactly how it needed to be. The hard work and professionalism shows. I am very happy with my new patio.
