I submitted the request through Angies List and Kevin came to give an estimate the same day. They gave the estimate within an hour and I reviewed and considered it a fair price. They scheduled for the next day to install. Plumbers came early Kumar and Michael - a team of 2. They inspected what was in place and went to get parts and the new water heater. The only issue they ran into was that the new heater had the connections in different locations vs the previous one. So they had to go get extra parts and spend time configuring the unit. This took approximately 6 hours. They also fixed the outside faucet. They took extra time to be neat and clean up materials and debris. They ran a test of the system to make sure the hot water ran fine. Overall a good experience.

I went down to the basement around 1pm and found the hot water heater over flowing out the top of the heater. Called Big Blue immediately and they had a plumber at my house with a new water heater within 3 hours. I was up and running at about 6:30pm on a FRIDAY!! Very happy with the immediate and professional service.

Great experience. Am so burned out from epic fails by every person in the trades I hired last year, that I was extremely grateful for the competency and ZERO BS. I asked a lot of questions and the plumber answered everything clearly, and offered advice on some burner concerns I had. He gave me a clear idea of how to handle another issue when I'm ready to take on the project. I was really glad for the whole experience. I would caution any homeowner with granite or stone counters, around which metal tools are used, to remind the plumber to cover the stone with fabric or tape first. My bathroom counter got lightly scratched from the wrench; I wish I'd put down tape over the stone first. Fortunately, it's light and can be fixed easily. And after I remembered to tell him to take extra care there, he did.

They showed up within an hour after we discovered water in our basement.

Great, the scheduler was extremely courteous and tried to find a way to squeeze in the service call. In the end, I was able to figure out the cause of the leak and stop it myself,

Kevin came out to my house on time and gave me an estimate to replace the cast iron pipe with PVC. His quote was lower than another company by $150. He was super friendly and professional and gave me other tips and advices regarding plumbing for an 100 yr old house. It took two weeks for them to have an opening, which was the Monday that hurricane Sandy arrived. I called them in the morning to make sure they were still coming and the woman on the phone confirmed that they will arrive around 9am. Shortly after 9am, two young guys showed up and started to work. They were done around 3pm. The work was great and what was better was that the basement was super clean. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave any trash or PVC trims. They even swept and wiped down the kitchen floor where they had to walk thru since my basement didn't have an exit. The price was exactly quoted and they worked fast and quiet and had no drama. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and they would be the first place I call the next time I need plumbing or HVAC service.

They were prompt and courteous. The system was installed and the old system removed on time, and everything worked well as first. As the weather got colder, the pressure in the heating would surge and water would leak out, so they scheduled prompt tweak which didn't work, then a second visit where they added an external expansion chamber that did the trick. All this was done smoothly and without additional cost. The only problem came in getting them to bill me promptly (I wouldn't complain, but I needed a bill within 60 days to get the government rebate on efficient systems). but it did get billed in time.

It went very smoothly overall, and I had confidence that they were doing high quality work. Kevin and Josh were both consistently helpful and patient in explaining what needed to be done and how. I was comfortable leaving them with a key to my house, and now (a year after the new boiler was installed) we are still happy with the work and the equipment. I did have to nag them a little to finish patching the chimney after the new boiler was up and running, but on the whole they were prompt.

I love big blue plumbing!!!!! Nicest business owner I've ever had the pleasure of meeting - smart as well as fair. Great great work - very impressed and satisfied.

Their communication and follow-through was excellent. They explained the various parts of the job thoroughly. They didn’t do the work, since I went with another company that was a lot less expensive, but I’d definitely trust them to do a good job.

They were good....they had pretty low prices and they got the job done.

Excellent work, and I recommend them highly. This started earlier this year with broken pipe in the drain line which cause several disastrous plumbing back ups at my house in Somerville. The first call to Big Blue got the immediate repair work done; this second call was the planned follow-up to that. Kevin Ghiozzi's crew is fabulous in my book: prompt, professional, polite. They really know their business and have made me a very happy homeowner. I recommend them highly.

When Kevin did his estimates on the first time he was polite and you can see that he is concerned about your situation willing to explain all the details that you want to know related to plumbing. On the day of the service the guy they sent to do the job was very nice and friendly made sure everything works fine, he even helped me to install the water hose for my laundry free of charge. The thing that I'm not satisfied with them is that there are a couple of plumbing works that they 're suppose to do that day but rejected it since the plumber thought of another solution which is great that you can see their initiative and concern. But when I tried to call them for another estimate it took them at least 3 weeks to reply and schedule for another appointment. Then the day came Kevin went again explained all the stuff that needs to be done did a rough estimate he said that it's going to be expensive ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 a much higher than I expected. He even proposed another option that is not a "guaranteed" that will fix the problem (which is bad why spent a couple of hundreds that is not guaranteed). He said that he will sent the estimate and up to this date he haven't send any estimates. So I called another guy referred by a good friend of mine when he look at it he found out that the problem was the pipe was clogged. He did the snake thing and spent a $100 compared to $1,000+.

Work was done in a timely manner. Plumber is very professional and explains the work to be done in really plain Engish.

They were good and I will use the same in future.

BBP did a fantastic job quoting my Oil to Gas conversion project. They ensured I knew every detail of the products they reccommended, and also ensuring the products met my personal requirements of cost effectiveness, easy of use/maintain, and energy effienciency. BBP makes sure the entire job meets the highest of standards and quality. They even found a leak in the middle of the project and fixed it without hesitation. They even offered some cost saving alternatives to the project that wouldnt compromise the quality of the overall installation.I am a new homeowner of 1 year and I have found my new plumber for as long as i live in this home and within their service area.All my neighbors overwhelmingly reccommended Big Blue Plumbing and now so do I.thank you to Kevin and the rest of the team!

overall, It went well. I might make SURE next time I need them, I have EVERYTHING I need so I don't pay for the travel time.

I used them several times. They have been very responsive. I had some billing problems, so they didn't get paid for quite a while, but they remained very reasonable. I had a problem with getting one of the bills paid because I had to pay back someone else. I had a bill to pay for about six months or something, but they were very accommodating. They were responsive, which is what I needed. They took initiative to do what they needed to do, which is good because I wasn't there. It was a rental house. They are reasonable, and you can trust them.

Big Blue came to our rescue - woke up to a basement full of water & at 7am they walked us through turning the water off, and then promptly showed up that morning to investigate. Turns out our water heater had a broken valve, which they ordered, and installed the following day. Would call them again in a heartbeat.

Our heater broke in the dead of winter and we had a new born. I called them and basically the guy I talked to was Kevin. They were busy but he recommended some other places. He did not hesitate to recommend people he thought were reputable. I couldn?t get them over here and I called him back to ask him for some other references. He said he would come over on his way home and he came over and fixed it and it was even cheaper than he had warned me about. He under promised and over delivered - he really exemplified that. When he came over, he brought space heaters for my wife and baby to my mother-in-law?s house when I stayed here with the space heaters and the cat. We would absolutely use him again in the future.

They did a good job for us. They were prompt, reasonably priced and we would give them high ratings. We spent about $200 or $300 on that service. We are probably going to have some more plumbing work done and we will have that done with them. We would tell others that they seem like they are reasonably priced and they know what they are doing. They charge by the hour and around where we live some people charge by the job, where the customer eats the risk, so I am not happy about that. These guys seem to be honest and competent.

They are all right; they are a little pricey. We've used them a couple of times. We haven't had any problems with the work they have done. They were easy to contact and they came right away. They were good. Everything except for the price was fine.

The work went fine. They called me back and showed up on time. The person who did the job was nice, and I did not have any problem with him. There was nothing above and beyond that. He also fixed something in the tub.

Kevin met me straight away & carefully looked through the entire issue & clarified all questions & concerns. Within a day, Kevin put together a very thoughtful, detailed & very competitive proposal. Kevin was also able to provide a very favorable local reference for a similar type of pipe replacement/work. Kevin's quote was very competitive (it's a big job & a lot of work) & I ended up using a plumber I had previously worked with. If I hadn't had such a positive experience with my previous plumber, I would have very much liked to work with Kevin based on my personal experience w/the bidding & his careful & thoughtful (& very competitive) proposal. I really hope to get the chance to work with Kevin/Big Blue on some future plumbing projects!

Somehow I have managed 6 years of home ownership without ever calling a plumber. When I needed to disconnect my old oven I decided to just call a handful of plumbers and see who would get back to me first. Kevin promptly returned my call and told me the cost of disconnecting the gas over the phone. He was punctual and friendly.
