Initially, we were very impressed by RT9 Carpet. During the visit to the showroom, the sales person was very professional, knowledgeable and very easy to work with. He described the different carpets and provided written quotes. By far, the best "sales? process we had experienced. We scheduled a free measuring with Walter(the owner)and placed the order for the carpet. Since we were moving into a new house, it was critical that the installation was performed on the scheduled day. We were assured that it would not be a problem, since we placed the order a week and half before the installation. On Monday, the day before the scheduled installation, I received a call from Walter saying the carpet had not arrived and that they needed to reschedule the installation. That said, Walter explained that they could still rip up the old carpet on schedule and install the carpet the next morning?causing only a half day delay. With that I was able to reschedule the cleaning crew for the following afternoon. Unfortunately, the installation crew showed up on Wednesday afternoon-the day after the initial schedule-and the carpet was not ripped up and disposed as agreed to expedite the process. They got 1 room done on Wednesday and left around 5 o?clock. Unfortunately, the crew was not willing to work late to accommodate our schedule. As you can imagine on move-in day, I was left with carpet installers, cleaning crews, and movers all at the same time. The movers had to move all the bedroom furniture into the finished room first then after the carpets were all installed and cleaned, the movers moved the furniture into each bedroom. Now that we got the carpet installed, I received the final bill and noticed the discrepancy between the quoted prices and the actual bill. The bill stated the carpet and pad were 4 cents more per square foot and even worse, the charge for the rip up and disposal of the old carpet was 10 cents more per square foot. Lastly, I need to hire a cleaning crew to finish cleaning the bedrooms at an additional cost. In total, I had $300 of additional expenses. After speaking with Walter about the financial issues, I was told that he would take care of it. I was reimbursed for the additional cleaning expense and the quoted carpet price, but not the rip up. I was told the initial quote for the rip up was wrong and that he would not reimbursement me. Lastly, I was left with approximately 200 square feet of carpet padding in my garage, which I returned. It does beg the question, if he order more carpet than I needed, but I'll give him the benefit of doubt. In conclusion, I am very disappointed in RT9 Carpet and cannot recommend their service. In addition to not sticking to their schedule, Walter chose not to honor his quoted price for the rip up.
