I am watching my TV again!!!!

When I spoke with Tony , he asked me to describe the problem that I was experiencing. When I told him, he said that it sounded like a part ( name I cannot remember) , and that it would not be worth the expense to repair it, that a new TV would be the best way to,go. he offered to come out, for $40, instead of his usual $50, since he was only down the street. I et up an appointment for the next day, then cancelled it, as I thought taking his advice and getting a new TV, and saving myself $40 was the way to go. I then called him back and thanked him for his honest advice. Since he does not sell TVs, he was not trying to get business for himself. I appreciated his honesty.

Tony was great to deal with and very knowledgeable. I called multiple places to find out what it would cost to have someone replace my DLP chip in my Samsung TV. It is a very common issues with this TV purchased about 5 years ago. No one would give me any kind of estimate. They all wanted to come out and see the TV, diagnose it, and then schedule a repair, which I would be charged for. I was not sure the repair was going to be worthwhile so why waste my time and money to find out. Tony Knew what I was talking about right away, had experience with this issue and gave me a ballpark figure right there and then on the phone. Ultimately, he had to check on the price of the chip which was a little more then he expect, but still within the range that I was willing to pay. He showed up on time when he said he would. charged me what he told me he would, and did a great job for a good price. The job even took longer than expected, but he did not try to change the deal as some have done to me in the past. Overall he did a great job, and was one of the few people left in this business that really knows their stuff. I would definitely use him again, but hope I never have to.

I had worked with Tony Max before in 2009 when he came to my house to fix a broken 13" TV/VCR combo which eventually broke after a year or so. VCR quit altogether. Yeah, I am old school. I had another one that needed fixing. He charged me $50 to take it away to his shop. Then after several weeks he told my husband it would cost $130 to fix. We told him that's more than we paid for it and said forget about it. He then offered it for far less to repair. We said go ahead but then he said he could not get the parts. I do not know if that was true or not. Se again we said forget about it, you can keep the TV. I got a DVR through Xfinity/Comcast and I am very happy with it.

He knew what the problem was before seeing the TV and was able to order the part in advance of a site visit. He showed up as scheduled, on time and provided prompt and friendly service. The cost included the replacement part and labor. It took less than an hour to install and cost almost as much as the part, but it was worth it for good reliable service.

Terrific job! A power surge had damaged the TV's power supply board; a new board would have cost $150, but Tony said he would attempt to replace one component (a blown-out resistor) on the board. Successfully done, the cost of parts dropped to $5. The TV is running fine again after a prompt and highly professional service visit.

He was reliable, he came when he said he would come, and he was professional. It may be the going rate and I've never had a service person come for my TV before, but it did feel expensive.

This was the 2nd time we had Tony come by. Our 50" Panny went on the fritz last summer and he did such a great job and was such a pleasure to have doing the work, that we procured his services for this repair. He's very courteous, honest, and professional. He met us at our house after 6p when we were able to be home, diagnosed the problem with a thorough examination of the boards, wiring, and screen. He double checked his diagnosis with the Panasonic service website and proceeded with the recommended fix. He didn't attempt to up-sell or misrepresent the trouble. Where others might have recommended purchasing a new board, he fixed the actual problem right then and there. Highly recommended.

Right on time. Tony is polite, intelligent, clearly explained what needed to be repaired. Answered all my questions.

Had Tony come out to see my 50" Samsung plasma tv, which at about 6 years old lost it's video. I started with an email through Angie's List, then a phone call, all very prompt and professional. We discussed possible problems and arranged for a home visit to take a look and make a firm diagnosis and repair estimate. I was not home for the visit, but my wife said Tony was a true gentleman, polite, etc. We ultimately decided not to do the repair and to use the opportunity to get a larger set with some newer technology. The price was certainly fair, we just decided to go a different route. I would definitely have Tony in my home again and will recommend to any friends and family who have a need for his services.

Tony was great! He responded to my email within a few hours about my TV. We spoke a few times on the phone before I got home from work. Once home he walked me through some diagnostics and we got the TV working. No charge. No hassles. This from someone who first knew of me 7 hours ago. I wish I could find someone like this for all of our fixing needs. Highly recommend! Didn't even mention that he was willing to come out to Natick from Roslindale the next morning (a Saturday) if we needed service

I emailed Tony Max TV and he responded very quickly. He came to my home which was very good because it was very heavy and he looked at it and he told me that there was a major component which would cost about USD 800 and he couldn't guarantee that, that was it because he would have to go to Sony, so he basically told me that 800 could be a minimum for that part and after fixing the part, there would be other parts which could go bad. I was not happy about paying the 800 so he educated me about other plasma TVs. He explained to me the difference between the LCD and LAD and as a result of his education and recommendations, I went and got another one and it has worked fantastic. I bought the other TV for USD 500.

Our rear projection tv wouldn't turn on. Tony came out and made an assessment. It cost $50 for him to come out, but that money would be put towards the repair if you decide to go with him as your repair man. He explained what was wrong. We needed a new fan as well as a switch. He ordered both parts, and installed them when they came in. He also took the time to clean out all of the dust that has accumulated inside the tv (it's about 7 years old). We liked him enough to recommend him to our friends who were in need of a tv repair man. He assessed their tv and told them that they could have a manufacturer's technician come out and do the repair free of charge. Tony is very honest!

From the first email communication to job completion, everything went just fine. Turns out I needed a new fan for my TV. Tony was able to get exactly what was needed and complete the job very quickly.

Very simply, I wanted to get an estimate of repairing a 10 year old Sony 60" TV. I was able to determine what I thought was the problem by web search. Tony confirmed what I thought was the problem and gave me an estimate of what the cost of repairs would be, if a part could be located. Based upon the estimate, I determined that I could purchase a new TV, same size, maybe even bigger, but probably not with the same quality for the same price quoted. My decision was to do nothing at the present time. The service provided by Tony was exactly what I requested.

My initial experience was not great. I got the TV repaired. I brought it back and it didn't work. And when I called Tony about it, he was rather abrupt. But he called back and apologized and said sorry I'm having a bad day. He took the TV back and got it fixed and it was really great. I was very satisfied with the work that he did. I think I would use them again.

There was also an underlying issue that led the TV to blow which he could only determine if we could turn the TV on (which would require doing the initial fix). He was quite candid about the riskiness of this approach given how old the TV was, and that it may be more worthwhile just to get a new TV. He also offered to look into less expensive options for used parts etc., and called me back several days later saying there were none. I elected not to have the TV repaired. I was very impressed with his punctuality, honesty and professionalism.

The service was A+. We setup the appointment from 10 am - 11 am. At 10:30 am, He called to let me know he ran into a problem and was running late. He apologized and ask if it would be ok for him to be here by 11:30 am. I said yes. At 11:20 am, he arrived. He started looking at my Plasma TV and in short order found the problem. I would say within an hour he found and fix the TV's issue. He asked me to try the TV and use all the different function on the set. He want me to be completely happy with the work, before leaving. I would recommend Tony to my friend and use him again if the issue happen again.

My Panasonic TH-50PZ800 -- 50 inch plasma TV from 2008 -- died. I called Tony and despite the fact that Somerville isn't his usual area of coverage, he arrived the next day right on time. He and I dismounted the unit from the wall and he went to work. Within an hour he had diagnosed and fixed the issue. More importantly he noticed another problem that would eventually had led to another fault. He took care of that proactively. I highly recommend Tony for your TV repair needs.

We had called up a couple of other places and the price we were given was much more than what he charged us. He came in the house and fixed it right here, we didn’t even have to bring it to him. He is very good, we are very happy with him and if my TV breaks again, we will call him. We compared prices and he was very good; others had given us prices that were way, way over.

Flat screen went dark, wouldn't turn on. Called the manufacturers service line, but was offered little help.Called Tony Max TV in Roslindale. We made an appointment for him to arrive at my house in JP next day, mid-afternoon. Next day, around noon he called to let me know he was running behind and "could he arrive an hour later ' than we'd scheduled. He is polite and conscientious. When he arrived, he determined that the TV required a replacement "board." This he ordered on his phone from my house. He explained that he could try to fix the old board and should that not be possible, he would install the newly ordered board. He explained the costs involved in each approach. Ended up that the new part was used and i got my TV back by the time he promised. Tony is a real straight shooter. Polite, punctual and competent. Plus he's local. High recommendation.

They did an excellent job. He was great!

We found Tony's name on Angie's List. Tony came to the house and fixed the VCR. He explained beforehand that if he couldn't fix it there he'd take it to his shop. We liked the fact that he came to the house because it saved us a trip. We would definitely call him again.

They were great. Everything worked out fine. The TV is still working.

I called Tony Max in the morning and Tony came in the afternoon in the same day. He fixed the problem in one hour and gave us 60 days warranty. The price is reasonable. The TV has been working great so far. Will recommend him to friends.
