I had been researching and saving up for replacement windows for about 2 years. In addition to being drafty, my storm windows made for a perfect breeding ground for spiders. Despite having professional pest companies bomb the house, the spiders were everywhere. I could not wait to get estimates and started calling contractors. Each and every one told me window replacement was too small a job, and they would consider possibly 'fitting me in' in between jobs, with no guarantee of when they would begin the job, and certainly no way of telling me when they would be done. After the 3rd contractor told me the same, I decided to look into the window replacement companies. I had seen a lot of advertising from one company, so I called them first. But I had a great deal of trouble getting an appointment. They kept asking me if anyone else was going to be involved in my decision making process - and I told them 'no.' They did not believe me, and kept questioning me about my ability to make this decision on my own. By the time they were willing to give me an appt, I was so disgusted, I lost interest in them. Next I called another company, and got the same response. I was not really sold on any window, so I decided to keep researching. I heard about Renewal by Andersen, and I liked the idea of having a reliable brand name window and installation done by the same company. I called them and could not believe that they made an appointment with me, and me alone after confirming that I was the sole homeowner. I had my appointment and it was not a high pressure sale, as some people cautioned me might happen with a window salesperson. They showed me their window, which is really one of a kind, and sold me on it's efficiency, great looks, and high quality of construction. Then they told me that once my windows were ordered, were custom made, and delivered, that my windows could be replaced in 2 days. They gave me an idea of the first day of installation. I asked them when they would be back to finish the job...they said the next day of course. I was like, 'you mean you are coming 2 days in a row?" I have had work done on my house before, and I was prepared for this job to be strung out for weeks. I was in shock, and could not imagine how great it would be to have this job done in 2 days. Meanwhile, my neighbor 2 doors down had hired a contractor to replace their windows as well as their doors. They hired their contractor 1 month before I even called Renewal. By the time my windows were ordered and installed, my poor neighbor had only 2 windows replaced. I was so happy with my decision and how easy everything was. The installers were so polite, and so neat - outside of having new windows, you would never know they were there each day. And the windows have really improved my quality of life. I used to have to wear a sweater to eat at the dining room table the drafts were so bad - now - it is great. The heat is even all throughout the house. I could not be happier!

Renewal by Anderson did an excellent job. They were very clear in explaining the windows, on time with my quotes and installation dates. They completed the entire house and cleaned every thing perfectly. Each member of the company was polite...answered all questions and completely the project on time and in budget. It was a great experience. The product is excellent the people knowledgeable with great follow up.. I even recommended them to a friend.

Be prepared for a strong sales strategy. They introduced their services through a door-to-door salesman. After follow-up calls, I made an appointment for an estimate. They explain their services and products well with brochures, samples, and a demonstration. After the presentation, they gave several prices, going higher if I waited longer to agree. But the price was more than twice as much as other estimates I'd received. I did not respond, and they followed up with a couple of calls and mail. They didn't pressure me after I said I'd accepted a different offer, but I did get another letter hinting that they were willing to renegotiate.

I was impressed by the quality of the windows in the sample demonstration, but the salesman was extremely high pressure. He "measured" (roughly -- apparently they would have to be measured again) the windows and then went to his car to make the estimate. He came back with a fixed price of $19,306 written on the back of a business card. This was for about 13 windows, installed. The price seemed a little hight, although the windows seem to be of good quality. Then he said that the price he quoted was including various "discounts" (5% special Andersen discount, 10% for signing today, 10% for paying all cash). I am very surprised that a long established reputable company like Andersen (he said that Windows by Andersen was 100% owned by Andersen Windows) would resort to such sleazy sales BS. But I did say I was nevertheless very interested and would like a written estimate (with rough window sizes and prices), and I would get back to him in a few days. He then began various high pressure sales pitches and said that if I waited I would not get the 10% "sign right now" discount. I did not sign, and I never received the written estimate, in spite of 2 emails to them. So much for Windows by Andersen.

I did not use this company because the sales man was awful and was to high pressure. He came to my home to give me an estimate and he took hours. The price was just to high. Although they where on time, just not the right company for me.

I would say that their price is not the cheapest, but the product and the service is very worth while. The company was very easy to work with: they communicated, they cleaned up after themselves, and were very quick with the work. I would recommend them to anyone.

They did a very good job and I was very happy with their service. The quality was exceptional, they were clean and very professional.

We had an appointment scheduled for a beautiful Sunday afternoon at 11 AM. The appointment was confirmed. They required both husband and wife to be present which was difficult to schedule. No one came to the house as arranged. No phone calls about being late. Called the sales office at 12:30 PM (only way to speak to a person) and they looked into it. We received a call back at 1 PM by one of the managers who apologized and stated the person would not be able to come today "due to a car accident in an area where there wasnt any cell coverage so he wasnt able to call." We are not sure how the manager got a hold of the sales individual, but this is the story we were told.

The job was more complicated than originally planned. However sliding glass doors were placed, molding was replaced and everything looked beautiful. The team that came was efficient, timely and explained all obstacles encountered.

These windows were expensive but we relied on the Andersen name for good value. We had to purchase the same night to get the best price and we would have preferred to think it over. However, we signed the agreement and a few days later the installation manager came out for a site visit to determine the tools they would need and to remeasure the windows to fit exactly. He was professional and knowledgeable. The 2 man crew that did the work were very professional and courteous. They let us know when they arrived exactly what they would be doing and kept their word. They were very neat and cleaned up after themselves. The windows were expensive, but they are beautiful! We have another story of the house to do and will do it next year when it fits into our budget.

It did not even get off to a good start. The rep showed up an hour early for our long before agreed upon appointment simply stating that he hoped I wouldnt mind. I did mind. Anyway, about an hour and a half later he finished his presentation. At this point, my wife and I agree to have Anderson windows installed on our home. We liked the product at least. Next he went through all the rooms in our house to count the number of windows that needed to be done. He then gave me a proposal of $33,000 for 26 windows to be repaired in my home. This included all discounts. Also, he said that this price was "good for today only". I didnt like that tactic much, but agreed anyway. Three days later a tech comes out to measure the windows and he tells me that I have a total of "28", not 26 windows to be done, of course at additional money. I sensed a hustle here and promptly canceled. Beyond this, if they cant even count the windows correctly in the beginning, whats to come later down the line???

We purchased a few Anderson windows from a lumber yard last year, and Renewal sent a sales representative out to consult with us about our future needs this year. The representative assured us that the new windows would match the previous ones, but they did not. They have some minor differences that I can see. I told them about the problem, and they were very helpful and let us know that we could order new ones to match at cost. I probably will in the future, and I was pleased with the job they did installing them.

They had integrity in the sale and during the whole process. The windows look good. The only thing they should work on is cleaning up after themselves once they are done. Their prices are expensive, but the value is good.

We decided it would be best to just try out one window, to see if we liked it. I am very glad that I made that decision. I was not at all impressed with how this company installed the window. It's probably not that bad of a product, but I think we are going to go a different direction next time.

The initial appt and follow-up measurement meeting were easy to schedule and happened exactly on time. Both employees knew the product and made appropriate suggestions for our house-style and historical district status. Emails followed to keep us apprised of status. There was one hitch in communicating an installation date to us, but I called when I hadn't heard and it was handled promptly. The two installers arrived promptly for each of three days of work, were meticulous each day in cleaning up and vacuuming, and worked steadily to deal with quirks of an old house and custom-hewn matching internal trim. Such care was taken on removals, that we had no qualms about being able to re-use the interior trim for the double-hung windows. A final supervised walk-through of each window's opening, closing, locking, tilting inward, screen removal, sash removal made us very comfortable we had made the right choice.

Appointment was made within 24 hours of call. Sales person arrived right on time and did spend quite a long time with us. Wanted us to make a decision that night in order to get a discount.

THE WORK WAS PERFORMED EXTREMELY WELL AND THE WORKMEN DOING THE INSTALLATION WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO BE HELPFUL. WHILE THEY WERE UNABLE TO START THE JOB ON THE DAY ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED THEY KEPT ME INFORMED AND STARTED PROMPTLY THE NEXT DAY, AND FINISHED THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE FINAL RESULT IS VERY ATTRACTIVE, SUBSTANTIALLY BETTER THAN SOME WORK PREVIOUSLY DONE BY ANOTHER COMPANY. THE ONLY RESERVATION I HAVE IS DUE TO THE AGGRESSIVE TACTICS USED DURING THE SALES DISCUSSION (E.G. ''THIS PRICE FOR TODAY ONLY'').
