Description of Work: We called to set up a moving time when we got close to our move date sometime in the early fall of 2013. DN Van Lines asked a few questions regarding the office content and then gave a verbal estimate which negated the big deal offer. We could not reach a compromise, just to move the big stuff, and instead moved the office with volunteer help and pickup trucks.

Description of Work: Overall, we were very pleased with the crew (Bill and Jeff) who executed our move. There were some issues with their truck, causing them to arrive past their window, but once they arrived, Bill and Jeff were very professional, fast and respectful of our belongings. They had to deal with a difficult piece of furniture going from a small third floor Apartment, down a difficult set of stairs and they made it work. After what had to have been a very long day for them, they maintained a positive attitude and a sense of humor. They were really great and did an excellent job. Also, the company provided a discount for the late arrival.

Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for moving truck and crew. **Actual date not provided.

Description of Work: No work was completed as the vendor wanted to charge another $200 for travel time in addition to the amount paid for the deal. Travel time was not stipulated in the deal terms and conditions. Vendor tried to work out a better rate on the travel time, but didn't find a solution. Please make sure that any additional fees are stipulated in the T&Cs when publishing the deals.

Description of Work: There would be a 3hr. round trip charge added. I stated it was not in the fine print. I was told professional movers charge for traval. I explained I had never used professionals. They changed the charge to 2hrs. I related that $300.was too much to pay to move a used washer and dryer I paid $150.for. They were polite and tried to work with me. I called to tell them I was requesting a refund and they agreed I should.

I was told I could have a 2 man crew for 1.5 hours or a 3 man crew for 1 hour for $99 -- but deal required me to use them for a minimum of 3 hours. This was not specified in the deal details or fine print. I only had a few items to move and it would never require more than 1.5 hours at most. I told them this. They said I should read fine print, which I said I had done and this wasn't specified. However, they gave me estimates for a minimum of 3 hours with a 2 or 3 person crew. I said I would think about it but might contact Angie's list about my concerns, which I then did. Angies's list sent me this link for response/refund. I gave them D due to misleading advertising of deal.

Description of Work: We never made it past 1st base since the provider requires a 3 hour minimum, just needed a quick lift for a heavy item to get moved across town. You would think they would provide this information so I wouldn't have to go through all this run-around to get my money back.

Description of Work: Minutes after signing up for the Big Deal coupon, I was called by the service provider to fill me on the likely costs of their service. Although not mentioned in the deal, an hour of travel time would be charged against the coupon, which basically meant (depending on whether 2 or 3 mean were involved) that all of the actual moving expense would be an additional charge of $129 per hour. The caller ("Dan") estimated that the moving charges would most likely be in the $500+ range (above the coupon). I said that I would therefor call Angie's List to cancel the coupon, which he understood.

Description of Work: they came out to give us a quote for moving and storage. Everyone from the phone to the person who came out was helpful and professional. We did hire them for an april move.....feel confident things will go well.

Description of Work: I hired for moving between Brookline and Kingston, MA. I picked them over the rest for they had good reviews, they were religiously following up on my initial inquiry. When I first spoke to them, I was not aware of the Angie's deal. They were nice enough to pair me with the most appropriate one. Pros: They showed up on time. Edgar and Adilson, the two guys who showed up, were really good. Extremely helpful, accommodating, and fast. They did no waste any time during the drive between the two destinations (I had read that the movers tend to "disappear" for a few hours). Cons: Their charges for floor protection are unacceptable. That should be included in the cost. Their charge for getting the parking permit for the van (brookline needs one) was obscene: 180 dollars for something I managed to get for 5 bucks! Overall, I was satisfied with their service. I m hoping that I m not using them again though, for I do not want to move!

Description of Work: This was a two stage move of not a lot of stuff. From a home and a storage unit to Western Mass into a storage unit. The men were professional, punctual, and I was happy to get a good job done at much less than I would have paid without the special through Angie's List. Thank you both Angies List and DN Van Lines.
