Mike was extremely knowledgable and communicative. We found the experience to be pleasant and eye-opening especially as first time home buyers. We walked away with lessons worth more than the price we paid for his services. Would recommend to anyone!

It was a great experience. Mike arrived ahead of schedule and was already checking the exterior when we arrived. This was the most thorough home inspection I have ever experienced. Mike was there for over 5 hours! At the end of each section of the house, we would explain any findings to my wife & myself before moving on to the next section, so we were not overwhelmed. I would absolutely hire Mike Atwell again for any future inspection needs.

Mike was very knowledgeable and paid attention to details. He spent nearly 5 hours on the property going through everything from exterior to interior to plumbing to HVAC. He found a lot of issues that I would never see. As a result, we were able to ask the seller to fix up many items before the purchase. Mr. Atwell provided an extremely thorough inspection of a condo I had put an offer in to buy. I was present during the entire inspection, and he was not only professional throughout, but he walked me through anything he noticed, and even took time to explain systems I wasn't familiar with (e.g., how the central air system was set up). He demonstrated the highest level of expertise in evaluating the condition of the unit and building (which in this case, was rather unique since the building itself is 150 years old). I found his observations incredibly valuable, and I would recommend him to any prospective buyer. Immediately the day after the inspection he emailed me his 7-page written report.

Mike was excellent! He was on time (in fact he was early, and had completed a good portion of the exterior inspection before my wife and I arrived at the house!). Block off a good amount of time for the inspection, because Mike will take as long as you need to go over everything about the house in detail, answering all of your questions and explaining details about the house. He caught things that my wife and I wouldn't have even thought to ask about. For our roughly 1540 square foot house, the inspection took a solid four and a half hours. Mike did an incredibly thorough job and was always willing to answer questions, explain things in greater detail, and give us recommendations for work that the house will need down the line. Given that ours is an older house, there was quite a bit to discuss, eccentricities of older building styles, systems that were working, and systems that weren't, and Mike explained it all perfectly and in a way that people not overly familiar with construction, building, etc. (like my wife and I) could understand. This house is my wife's and my first home purchase and Mike made us feel fully prepared, like we're going into the transaction with eyes wife open and know exactly what condition the house is in and what it will need in the future. I cannot recommend Mike enough, he is worth every cent of his fee, and in fact is worth much more than that.

Fantastic! From an experiential standpoint Mike was great. There were several issues found throughout the inspection, all of which I would have missed or otherwise found out too late! Mike was very informative and thorough the entire time he was there. This was a 5 hr inspection on a 1400 sf home built in the 1920's, due to the age of the home it was expected to see some cumulative issues. However, Mike didn't only take notes of them all but also explain why it was common to see certain scenarios, and also how to combat possible issues in the future and made recommendations to find the appropriate professional if something looked very wrong. I feel confident in the information and report he provided. Thank you!

Mike was referred to me by family. He's very knowledgeable, detailed in both his verbal and written report and inspected the overall community. He arrived prior to scheduled time to inspect the outside and stayed longer than the estimated 3hrs to answer all my questions. He was very professional, down to earth and friendly, He also made sure I understood everything including what to ask and recommend to the condo association. I received the report the next day and everything was discussed. Price also included radon kit and this was for a 2level townhouse plus basement.

I asked Mike to inspect my 2-family building after I purchased it. He was fantastic. Very thorough, and noticed all sorts of things I hadn't. He came on a Saturday, estimating 4 hours to do the work, but was there for almost 6 hours with no extra charge. Note that the fee did not include a written report, as I took the notes myself (I already own this house, and have owned several others before this one). He answered a ton of questions very clearly and never made me feel rushed, and I learned a huge amount, as my house is a Victorian and has many issues I had not anticipated. He inspected the house very methodically and one section at a time. When done with each section he showed me the issues he found, explained them in depth, while I took notes and asked questions. As he worked on the next section, I edited my notes and was able to clarify and come up with more questions. I found this a very efficient and collaborative way of working, and I was impressed with Mike's knowledge and attention to detail. After the inspection, Mike answered more questions and offered advice by email, and even volunteered to come back (for free) to look at something. I would definitely hire him again.

Mike is thoroughly professional and very dedicated. He arrived before time and home inspection lasted about 3.5-4 hours. He was very thorough and would explain everything he noted wrong patiently after going through every part of the house on his own and then again with you. He later follows it with a detailed written report in a few days. We never felt hurried with him and that was something very important to us. You don't want your home inspector rushing things and missing stuff that could cost you thousands later! I received a free radon inspection after presenting angie's list coupon. At the end of the inspection he was nice enough to gift us a book on understanding structural, electrical and mechanical systems in homes!

Mike was able to visit the property with very little notice even on a Sunday! He was communicative, very thorough and informative all while being a funny guy to spend four hours with! Yes four hours! This is double the time of my last home inspection and I was impressed. He took the time to explain the things I did not understand and made me feel very comfortable. His report was thorough and broken down in sections stating immediate needs, one year needs and so on. I thought this was great as those reports can be very daunting to read. I would call Mike again in a heartbeat if I needed another inspection!

He arrived 45 minutes before we were scheduled to arrive so that he could look around the outside of the property. I would highly recommend, especially for first time home buyers like ourselves!
