Description of Work: I needed some re pointing on a chimney and I was impressed by the write up on Angies List that indicated he had been in business for many years and he did the work himself. However, when I indicated I would use him, he stated that he did not do the work himself but he had a crew. When the work was to be done, I learned that he merely subcontracted the work to another masonry contractor. This was indeed not the way it was written up on Angies List. What I would have had to do was to pay him to secure the services of this other contractor, PLUS pay for this second contractor. I cannot recommend E.Liverman at all

Description of Work: No work was performed. I received 3 estimates from Angie's list chimney repair/sweep contractors with grades of A. I needed my flu's to be looked at for possible sweeping and my chimney's to be looked at fro masonry repair and possible cap repair. E. Liverman was polite and called back in time. However, his quotes on the sweep service were the most expensive and he would not come to the house to give an estimate on possible repairs without an $85 fee upfront. The fee was creditable towards service performed, but I was not sure on the service that was needed, so I was not willing to pay this without knowing whether I needed the service.
