Excellent work was performed by the repairman. The company called to inform me of when the workman would arrive and they arrived within 10 minutes of the scheduled appointment. Work was fairly straight forward and the attention to detail was very good. One of those small annoying projects that we had put off for years and luckily we had it fixed before our basement flooded from a burst pipe. The ONLY complaint, if you could even call it that, was that the phone representative that is in the office at 8 AM, seems to be hard of hearing and does not follow your conversation, unless you speak VERY slowly. He was polite but a bit frustrating to talk with as he tries to write down every word you say. A simple description of what you want done will take 10 minutes.

Friendly and professional on the phone. Was able to send plumber same day (about 4 hours after I called.) Friendly and professional on arrival and throughout service. Job performed efficiently and at a high quality.

Great! Prompt and courteous response to initial phone call. Prompt scheduling of work. Contractor arrived on time, did the work efficiently and neatly, and was very pleasant. We couldn't be happier with the work and will call Baker-Elman again whenever we need plumbing work.

David came back and found a leak that was in the casing of the boiler itself, so it was very hard to find since it was dripping into the ground. My wife actually suggested that he patch the boiler until Spring so we could replace it in the warm weather. David was thinking of replacing it this winter, so my wife's approach was much better. He tried it, and it worked. David made time to come over, even when he was fully booked for the day.

The toilet project with Baker Elman Plumbing Company went very well. I communicated with them and set up the job all over email, which was convenient for me. They provided free estimates and recommendations for low-flow toilets. They arrived on time and got the work done quickly. They have a professional staff. The tile around the toilet looks as good as new after the installation. The new toilet works very well. I am glad we chose this company for the work.

We woke up on a cold morning to discover that our heat wasn't working. We called Baker Elman and someone came by within a few hours. Jamie was very nice and professional. He explained what the problem was and quickly managed to thaw the frozen section of our heating system. I was very happy with the quick response time and the quick solution to our problem!

Response to telephone call was quick. Mr. Elman offered advice on fixing the problem by phone, and his advice worked, so he saved us the cost of a service call. He was helpful, friendly, generous, and up front about his fee structure. He offered to make a service call in the middle of a snowstorm. We were really impressed and will use this company in the future.

They were very prompt. David Elman came and estimated the work, was very up front about what was going to be done and was very good about answering questions. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to have the work done at this time so I could not hire them at this time.

Great. The guy showed up when he said he would, and volunteered that the problem needed only a patch (i.e., the less costly approach), not a full replacement.

They were excellent. I called them and they diagnosed what was likely the problem over the phone. The plumber arrived right on time, was very nice and professional and explained the work. He even took the time to explain to me what I should do if there was ever a leak with my hot water heater.

I would not recommend this business. I made an appointment with them, and they called to reschedule 2 different times. When they finally came, they worked for a little bit and then got called to a more important client. They didn't come back for 2 days. They didn't fix the toilet, which was the main issue. The toilet still doesn't flush properly. They have sent me a bill, and the work is not even completed. The repair man, not the owner, who came didn't seemed very knowledgeable.

I have used Baker-Elman numerous times before and have always been satisfied. In one instance, I had the fire department at my house because my hot water boiler's pressure release valve was shooting steam into my basement and they had a truck and two guys at my house in 1 hour. In this instance I called about my project and they were able to schedule me with only a couple of days notice. The plumber arrived slightly early, but I did receive a call-ahead with about 10 minutes notice, so it worked out well. I had prepared the area as much as possible to make things go as smoothly as possible and the plumber was very appreciative. He worked efficiently straight through for two hours to get everything done. And everything was done well. My only "complaint" is that I like to have an itemized bill so that I can verify what I'm paying for. Their bills tend to just say "Labor" and "Parts/Materials" a dollar amount for each. In the future, I will ask in advance for the bill to be itemized.

I called them up and made arrangements for someone to come out. The person who came over didn't know what he was doing. I clearly described the job to them. They said they would come back with the necessary materials to do the job. They never came back. About 2 or 3 months later I received a nasty letter from them with a bill. In their record on Angie's List, they stated they give free estimates. I was never told by this company there would be a charge for the estimate.

The plumber was here on time, he was very courteous, went to work immediately, cleaned up everything when the job was done. I thought the price was reasonable. I would definitely call them again and recommend this company to all my friends.

The plumber was here at 8;30AM on the dot, very attentive and organized. He checked each bathroom quickly, had to run out for a couple of very specific parts to one of the toilets, and was back fast. He did the work, explained each issue and the necessary fix that was done and wrote up the bill. A little more expensive than expected but done well.

I don't remember the plumber's name, but he was excellent. I got home from work and found water all over the bathroom floor. I called Baker Elman and they arrived within 20 minutes. I thought it might have been a more serious problem that was causing the leak but it turned out that two bolts just had to be tightened. He felt bad because they had to charge me overtime because it was an after-hours call. He asked if there was anything else he could look at while he was there.

Terrifc experience. My husband and I are new to Boston and had no clue who to call to help install some new bathroom fixtures. I called Baker Elman and was treated nicely and professionally. They answered a few questions I had about the install (I had purchased a fixture that wouldn't work with our existing plumbing). The plumber (Jason) showed up the next day and swiftly installed the new items and cleaned up after himself. I hope all my home repair experiences in Boston are this pleasant!

Job 1) The plumber was punctual, polite, and completely professional. The work was of excellent quality. Job 2) The plumber was very nice and professional, but he mis-diagnosed the problem as being a faulty part, when in fact the problem was caused by a blocked drain. To date, the company has not charged for this follow-up call.

THEY WERE QUICK. I LIVE IN A CONDO, SO YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE ALL THE WATER IS SHUT OFF BEFORE THEY CAN DO THE WORK. I MADE SURE IT WAS SO THE WORK WENT VERY QUICKLY.

ARRANGED TO ARRIVE AT A TIME WHEN I COULD BE AVAILABLE; CALLED TO SAY MIGHT BE A BIT LATE; ARRIVED RIGHT ON TIME. COURTEOUS, SANE, DID THE WORK, DIDN'T TRY TO INFLATE THE JOB AS A PREVIOUS PLUMBER HAD. WHILE LABOR COST OF $96 MIGHT SEEM A LOT FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, IT WAS A HUGE BARGAIN COMPARED TO 2 OTHER PLUMBING COMPANIES I TRIED RECENTLY, WITH SIMILAR TASKS. I WAS VERY PLEASED.
