problem was a simple leaky pressure valve, but may not be legal to replace by owner himself? this is an issue with the industry overall, this company showed up and replaced it as promised.

8/13/12 I had this plumber in to install 2 new toilets I purchased and new shutoffs since the ones there were original. When the plumber arrived he said shutoofs were ok just use plyers to turn since handle broke off. Then when he removed old toilets he said I needed to get floors raised to install new toilets, he installed them anyway with shims since old toilets were removed. He also said to call office for name of a carpenter to fix floors. I was charged full price of $300.00 for install which I paid. I called office & got number then cappled carpenter and told him what was needed and he could not imagine why floor needed to be raised and called plumber himself and spoke to a supervisor who then called me and said the samething. Supervisor then came to house to look and said all original plumer needed to do was trim flange to fit toilet properly. We then setup another appointment for them to fix this. 8/22/12 Same plumber came back to redo work and removed toilets agian, fixed flanges and now toilets fit correctly. Then I got another bill for $349.00. I called office and spoke to David and explained I understood some extra charges but not total since they had to do work twice because plumber didn't know how to do the work the first time. I got a new bill for $300.00. I didn't think this was fair as it still made it look like I asked for twice the work. I called and spoke to Dave again and he dropped it to $269.00. I still feel this was taking advantage of me and I think I've gone as far as I can now since the problem was caused by them they should accept more finanial responsibility. I got this plumber through Angies list and used them once before and thought they were good but that was to fix a clogged drain and they seem to take advantage of my inexperiance in plumbing to run up this bill.

service went well with the shut off valve but as i said before the problem we are having with our heating system still exist so we will have to find another plumber to see if they can figure it out.

Person explained what we needed to do to fix both, and helped along with the vanity change. Our first experience using plumbers on our own (our first home), so the sticker-shock of the total bill was high, but we've since come to realize that plumbing services are not cheap.

They did not quote but price was fair. They were on time and left the kitchen spotless.

It was easy enough to get a guy to come out and take measurements etc. He said he would email me the quote the next day. Two weeks passed and I called them to ask about the quote. It took them a while, but eventually (later that day), they told me the quote hadn't been done. They again said they would do it that day for me. I have never heard from them. I have given up and gone to another plumber (both for the plumbing and the project). very unprofessional and unorganized.

The plumber came within a half-hour from the time I called. He was polite and professional. He did the work promptly and it now drains perfectly. We were very pleased and will use this plumbing company again.

Called the company the day I noticed it leaking.....although it likely was leaking prior to when I noticed. They were able to give me a rough estimate of price over the phone because I could read him the model number/etc off the old one. Unfortunately they could not come due the replacement for a few days due to things being busy - but my water heater only had a slow leak, so luckily they were able to come over before disaster struck. Two guys got there a few minutes after scheduled time - and it took them about 2 hours to do the job....had to move around some gas piping as a result of the new heater being a bit more squat compared to the old one apparently. The guys were super nice, professional and kept the place clean. Would recommend them highly.

In the future I will ask for information and advice before purchasing a toilet. I bought one from Home Depot and parts cannot be purchased for that model.

They were excellent, by far my best experience ever with a plumber. They answered the phone, and scheduled an appointment for a few days later. They came when they said they would and finished quickly. The plumber (Steve?) was great. They also have you take pictures ahead of time, so they can come with what they need -- a huge help. I can't think of anything to criticize about them. The whole operation is very professional. I am delighted.

David arrived on time. He spent more time than anticipated solving the two problems mentioned above. David was courteous, friendly and, although he had other appointments, did not rush.

They were wonderful. Very easy to due business with over the phone. I would use them again and even for my own home. My tendent said they were wonderful as well.

They were excellent in every respect. Easy to work with, and worked with our limited time to be availabie at home. The plumber was quick, experienced, and professional. We were very pleased with the quality of the service and the price.

We had a dishwasher that would not drain properly and left a rancid smell after a few days. I explained that we had installed it ourselves so they showed up the very next day, took care of the problem and within 15 minutes, the problem was fixed. They were a joy to work with. The receptionist was pleasant and the workman was very professional. I highly recommend.

Made the appointment to have the kitchen faucet replaced. They gave me a time period and said they would call before they came. Not only did they call, they came a few hours earlier. Work was done quickly and bill was what I expected. Person who came to do the work was very professional.

The work ended up being more extensive than originally thought, but the plumber ran out to get the parts and completed the job anyway.

I had an issue with them. The plumber didn’t really investigate the situation at all. He showed up for 15 minutes and told us not to use the toilet in the basement. Then I received a bill for $132. He didn’t even give me an estimate for work to be done and what would solve the problem. I felt that was a little unethical. After I spoke with them they cut the bill in half but I haven’t had any contact with them after that. I hate to be extremely negative but I just felt it wasn’t good business practice. I don’t think it was reasonable to be charged $132 for such a short period of time and not even get a resolution.

The plumber arrived on time and figured out what the problem was. Unfortunately, it could not be fixed the same day because there was a part they needed to order. We had to go a few days without the use of one of our toilets, but they returned on time and fixed the problem a few days later. The workmen were timely, pleasant, conscientious, and cleaned up after themselves. Have had no problems since. They billed us later for the work. It was a bit more than we expected, but we called with some questions. They called me back promptly with the information.

The job seems easy enough. I'm not a plumber but it seems like it should be a walk in the park for these guys. Um, no. After the guy left my house and promised to get me a price in a day or two, no one ever called back. I had to call them and in fact they didn't have a record of the appointment or know who I was. The office person said she would research it and call me back. Nope, never happened. I called four additional times and spoke to one of the owners directly who did know who I was and promised me we would have a quote within a few days. Nothing. Nada. Zip. All I can say is that I'm glad they work in plumbing and not an organ donor center.

Overall my experience was excellent. The serviceman was dispatched within two hours of my request. He gave me an Angie's list 10%discount and would accept either check or credit card. I have used Baker-Elman before and have never been disappointed in their work and attitude. They are to be trusted.

The hot water faucet handle had been pretty stuck since we moved into our new condo, and we'd been meaning to take care of it. I popped off the faucet handle, then quickly realized I was out of my element, and it was easier to call in the professionals. I called Baker-Elman after seeing the reviews on Angie's List. They called me back first thing on Monday, and had someone here in an hour! Kenny was courteous, professional, and got the job done in no time at all. Excellent experience, start to finish.

They were fair, polite, and punctual. The plumbers did a good job resolving the two minor issues I needed help with. The only downside is that it is expensive (in my opinion) but I'm the type of person who usually finds someone who does odd jobs on the side so my concept of expensive might be skewed. I'm not used to the whole $135/hr thing but if you don't have a plumber friend or are in a pinch (like I was) then these guys are pretty solid.

I contacted Baker Elman and scheduled a service appointment without any issues. The technician arrived on time and made the necessary repairs quickly and efficiently. He was courteous throughout the entire process, even offering advice on routine maintenance to avoid a similar issue in the future. The invoice was emailed to me the following day, but did not include a detailed breakdown of charges (e.g. labor, parts). In the future, I would recommend that all invoices contain this information, which would eliminate the need to contact the provider after the service is completed.

I like everything. They were punctual and attentive.
