They were always prompt and professional. Susan (in their office) is excellent to work with. We were applying for a loan and rebate through Mass Save and she answered all of my questions and helped me with all of the paperwork. The plumbers that they sent out did a great job and cleaned up after themselves.

No problems. I called Baker Elman when our regular plumber was not available. They were very responsive and prompt. The problem was fixed in a very short time.

Phone call returned same day; repair done on following day. Plumber couteous, very clean, did not try to make job bigger than it was; efficient - left bathroom floor cleaner than he found it. Not fazed by 75 year old cast iron stack. Would hire again for small jobs, or get estimate for more extensive work.

I was very pleased with the work they did. First of all, we had a few back and forth emails and Steve came out a couple of times because we were trying to figure out an issue with our toilet as well. He and Susan (from the office) wanted to be sure they completely understood the situation which I thought was reassuring and professional - and something that not all providers would do. The work that was done today went incredibly smoothly - the two plumbers arrived on time and were extremely polite and professional, explained everything that they were doing, and did an INCREDIBLE job cleaning up! The basement area where all the debris had fallen looks impeccable (better than it did :). I can't say enough how nice it is to find a plumber that is so responsive and that does great work at a very competitive rate.

I was in a bind. Our 5-year old Reem tankless natural gas hot water heater was not working and the Home Depot (where we bought it), and Gem Plumbing (their installer) would not service the unit. And we had no hot water! See my review for Gem Plumbing (grumble grumble). Anyway, the manufacturer told me there was not a single qualified technician in Massachusetts who could help me, but that they would mail me parts to me, and email PDF instruction files, so that I could take the thing apart and fix it myself. I am not a plumber and am not particularly comfortable working on a gas appliance (!) Three days were consumed with me in my basement on the phone attempting to fix the problem with no results and increasing frustration. I called Baker Ellman, who (like all plumbers, apparently) does not service Reem units. Nevertheless, the plumber called me back, took the time to look up some manuals online and talked me off the ledge. No service call, no charge. I was grateful for his expertise and his time. He told me that he services everything he installs (which includes a different brand of tankless gas hot water heater). If I ever need a plumber I'll use him for sure.

Did everything well and professionally. Couldn't repair slow running warm water faucet in upstairs bathroom.

I can't say enough good things about Baker Elman. They arrived on-time and called to confirm when they were on the way. The woman I spoke to on the phone, Susan, was very helpful and nice. The plumber who performed the service, Mike, quickly diagnosed our issue and fixed everything quickly and efficiently. He explained everything he was doing and really put me at ease. I'd highly recommend this company to anyone in need of a plumber.

Perfect. Great people to work with. They show up on time, are very clean workers, very personable and very good at what they do. They gave nice options for several problems we were having with our plumbing in our 145 year old Victorian. I don't think they were cheap, but I do think they were competitive.

We have used Baker Elman several times and always found them to be responsive friendly and technically competent. This job was a bit complicated and required coordination with a dry way and mold abatement contractor.

2nd time using Baker Elman. Job done well, and quickly, at quoted price. There are probably cheaper plumbers but plumbing is not somewhere I want to cut corners. The last time I looked for plumbers I called several only to either not hear back or hear they had very limited availability, Baker Elman came through on both counts so they have earned my business.

Provider was prompt (actually, I received a phone call about an hour before the scheduled time saying that they were running EARLY!) Since that earlier time worked well for me, this saved us some time. The work was done quickly and professionally and fit into the one-hour window allotted. The provider even offered to look into a part that we needed for a separate issue (leaky knob).

Our hot water heater broke on a Thursday. I have a 2 year old so it wasn't fun not having hot water. Couldn't get the replacement part until Friday late afternoon. These guys could have pushed this to Monday but helped us out by finishing work on Friday super late in the day. We really appreciate the extra effort.

The lady who took my call was very kind and responsive. She was able to schedule us with very short notice. The technician showed up on time and did a great, clean job. We're very happy with their service and results. Will gladly recommend them.

At 10am I discovered that there was no hot water. I headed to the basement, where I found the hot water tank with a steadily growing puddle. My first reaction was to call my local plumber, but then I thought, why do I have Angie's List if not to expand my horizons beyond a few pricey services in my area? Baker Elman Plumbing had an Angies List coupon, good marks, and was located in a nearby town. I talked with Cheryl Elman, who was extremely helpful. She took the serial number of the existing tank and called back to say that my leaking tank had a valid warranty that would expire in 1.5 months. I never thought about the possibility of it still being under warranty. Baker Elman could replace the tank with a new one, same size, same manufacturer, for $650. The drawback is that the warranty on the new one would expire in 1.5 months too. I was so happy! The thought of paying an additional $1500 unexpectedly this month was pretty disheartening, and paying less than half of that was a relief. A plumber showed up by noon and took out the old tank and installed a new one. We're pretty pleased. I felt that this office "had my back" -- they looked for ways to save money, rather than sell me services I didn't need.

It appears that everything went well.

Started with Dave coming out to assess the project. He had good ideas for how to situate the fixtures in the room according to what would make plumbing sense and he clearly explained how the pipes would move across the basement to the second floor (which I was worried about), as well as options for building a shower floor pan that would be tiled. All in all, not a simple job. An estimate was promptly sent and he put me in touch Mike, the contractor that they normally work with on these types of jobs (complete job with all labor and material was ~35,000). Mike had a good sense of how we could move forward with the conversion. In the end, his suggestions for both large and small scale design matters, along with his flexibility, really helped make for a highly functional and aesthetically pleasing bathroom. Plumbing went well, all piping, and fixture installation with best practices. One small incident unfortunately caused a leak through the ceiling. Unfortunately, even a small leak can cause real damage. But Baker Elman was quick and professional in making the necessary repair and in covering the cost of the damage. Obviously you don't want these nuisances to happen, but when they do you want this kind of professional response. Over a year out now and the bathroom is fantastic. If we ever get around to renovating our kitchen, I'd definitely want Baker Elman and Mike on the job.

Very satisfied. Frank was extremely professional and pleasant. Inquired from both my wife and my self whether his truck was blocking our exit and if he should move. Investigated problem. A pipe joint had failed. It was a complicated piece to repair as it had many turns and went through the wall of our house. He soldered the pieces together before inserting through the wall - something that the original plumber for our house apparently did not do and therefore was not able to get a good solder joint in the tight space available. Our work seemed all very neatly done. I had lent Frank a 50' extension cord so he would not have to go back to his truck to get one. When I came down at the end he had coiled the extension cord in an amazingly neat fashion - a fitting conclusion to a very professional job. I would gladly welcome Baker Elman and Frank back for future plumbing needs.

I called them at 8:30 in the morning, and they told me they'd get someone there between 11:00 and 2:00. At 10:00 they called me to tell me someone was available and was coming to fix the pipe. This was great. The person arrived, was very professional, fixed the problem, answered all my questions and left. I highly recommend the service.

I have used Baker-Elman once before and had a great experience so I decided to call them again when I needed a dishwasher installed in my 3rd floor apartment. Initially I scheduled the install for Thursday because my dishwasher was getting delivered on Wednesday. However, the dishwasher was delivered so early on Wednesday that I called Baker-Elman to see if they had anyone available to come by so that I could get everything done in a day. They were very accommodating and had someone available so they sent him over. Kenny arrived by 8:30AM and was finished with the job within 2 hrs. Kenny also let me know that my faucet was on its way out, but was not trying to hard sell additional work at all. I appreciated his recommendations. I received my bill within 24 hrs of the work that was completed. Overall, this is a very professional, punctual, and friendly company. I definitely will use them again and recommended them to friends in the area.

My hot water heater, though only 9 years old, abruptly stopped working on a weekend. I called a friend and described the situation. He said the unit would probably need to be replaced, and that a plumber should be the one to do it. Upon consulting Angie's List, I chose Baker Elman on account of their good reviews, plus their relative proximity to my address. I contacted them on Monday. I had been afraid of a long wait, but a work crew arrived at my house the next day. The h/w heater did indeed need to be replaced. The old unit was disconnected and hauled away and the new one (with a 10-year warranty) installed remarkably quickly and efficiently. The crew cleaned up after themselves. And I could at last take a shower.

I called Baker Elman after my original plumber wouldn't make time to finish a bathroom renovation. They were professional and responsive, scheduling work shortly after my call. Work was done well and efficiently. I had trouble scheduling the plumbing inspection, and Baker Elman was helpful and patient with that process. My only gripe is that they are more expensive than other plumbers I contacted, but I was happy to pay a premium for their availability.

Right from the very first contact, I was completely impressed by how polite, efficient and knowledgeable everyone in the company was. I emailed a picture of my faucet to Susan and told her I thought I needed just a cartridge replacement. She got right on it - contacted the Franke manufacturing company, got the part number for me and asked if she should order it for me or I could order it myself which I did (got a discount from Franke, free delivery and it was returnable if not the right part). It was a more difficult job than expected but the plumber persisted in trying to replace this cartridge. He wasn't even annoyed as I watched him do the whole job. He then quickly fixed the other problems and on the way out, I just mentioned to him that ever since I had a toilet repaired I kept hearing water running at various times, even in the middle of the night. He knew immediately what the problem was - he replaced a cheap flapper in the toilet that the other plumber had installed - I haven't heard any water running since he fixed it. They are just great. I can't say enough after being ripped off, over charged and left waiting by other plumbers. I will always call Baker Elman for any future work.

This was the third time we have hired Baker Elman Plumbing after finding the company on Angie's List. Their service has always been exemplary, and I highly recommend you hire them for your plumbing needs. Not only is the staff extremely knowledgeable and experienced, they are also incredibly nice, communicative and professional. And although their service are not inexpensive, I have never felt Baker Elman is anything but 100% honest and fair, and in fact they often take extra measures to find the most cost effective route to solving a problem.
