On time, worked clean, in and out. Appointment was made easily, billing and receipt done via email. Very efficient. Minimal disturbance to my day.

Communication went very smoothly - able to schedule an initial estimate within two days of first phone call, and received our estimate the following day. Great price for the same equipment quoted by other plumbers, and great customer service. Scheduling installation was quick and easy, and they helped to make all the Mass Save paperwork easy to submit. Will absolutely call for our next plumbing job.

Great! While they are not the cheapest (no plumber is inexpensive!), they are very professional, respectful (I'm not treated like a stupid housewife - surprising how often tradesmen are disrespectful), nice, and I know nothing about plumbing but I've never had a problem with their work - so I assume it's done very well. While my most important criteria is good work, what sets them apart is that they show up (they have many plumbers on staff) AND they answer the phone and emails! I'm sure it costs a little bit more to have office staff, but I find it such a hassle to play telephone tag with plumbers (most plumbing issues you want fixed ASAP - not to wait around for a return call, then find out they can't make it that day, etc...). About their pricing: we've had alot of plumbing work done in the many years we've lived here, including installing 2 new boilers, and I actually don't think B-Elman is any more expensive than any of the well regarded plumbers. Plumbing is one area of home repair you don't want to hire on price. I intend to only hire B-Elman from now on, despite having hired several other very good plumbers in the past (one was even very inexpensive - but good - but he is constantly on a large job and declines small jobs). A note for newer homeowners, which I wish I had known years ago: Choose that company for your big (and small) jobs that you want to show up at 3am in January when the heat goes out. I.e., it is better to build a relationship with a good plumber, so s/he will be likely to show up to do your emergency no heat repair (and small jobs that aren't really worth it for a 1 time customer - like gas oven install, which takes 2 very short trips).

We wanted to ensure our soon-to-be mobile son could not touch the gas line that the previous owner had installed outside of the gas fireplace. The estimate was done quickly and the work was completed within a weeks time. They plumbers were efficient and courteous. They also cleaned up their work site when completed. Overall a great experience.

The plumber came on time and he determined it was the faucet. Glad I bought one. Cost was $150 to install and check the other valves in the kitchen.

Very professional, quick, and well priced. Wasn't thrilled with clean-up: paint splatter on sink, floor, and toilet, and still trying to get little bits of blue tape out from under doorknobs.

Came on time and was very professional. I didn't use them only because another provider gave a lower quote, but they provided a very detailed professional quote and it was not unreasonable for the type of work.

Replaced an old sink faucet with a new one we provided. All was fast and simple.

I purchased the deal on 10/20. Was promptly called and the installation was set for 1:00 on Friday the 24th. I was called at 12:30 to say that Frank the plumber was on the way and he showed up at 1:00 with the disposal. He went right to work and the old disposal was removed and the new one installed in less than one hour. The professionalism, workmanship,responsiveness and punctuality were great. My only issue is the price was too high! I calculate that the disposal cost was $180-$200 or what I could buy it for so the installation cost was $255-$235 for an hours work. This is my first dealing with Baker Elman so I called them about the price and was told "that is the price." I have used other plumbing companies in the past and never paid more than $140 an hour for installation. Great work but TOO EXPENSIVE FOR ME.

The last plumber I had was unable to remove the shower handle to repair or replace the valve. When I told Susan at Baker Elman the problem she took action. She asked me to email her pictures of the shower and handle. She then called the manufacturer of the shower and acquired the shower assembly directions for the plumber and sent me a copy. I must say I was impressed by her and the plumber sent to repair the valve. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone in need of a good plumber.

The installation did not go seamless, something we (the five owners) knew was a distinct possibility given the late February install date. However, when our old boiler failed us, we were forced to replace the until sooner rather than later. Baker Elman (BE) was excellent in terms of their scheduling. They always answer the phone during the day and David, the owner, is a top-notch professional. We chose them after looking at four other plumbing options based on the Angie's List feedback and their reputation for being responsive. The aforementioned hiccups included not accurately measuring and communicating the dimensions of installing a new boiler in the basement, which manifested itself by having an install date scheduled, having the plumbers arrive and then rescheduling due to having ordered a unit that was too big for the space. The second major issue was the once the new boiler was installed, it did not adequately provide heat throughout the building. On two occasions we were forced to call BE to have them return to bleed the radiators to rectify the problems. Even then, they did not do an adequate job as the pipes froze and burst in a first floor unit causing thousands of dollars. It turned out to be an issue with the electrician that BE uses. Still, BE stood by their work and made sure everything was fixed. If there was one issue, it was their lack of responsiveness the night the pipes burst. While David Elman professed to sleeping with his phone, not all of his plumbers followed the same practice. As a result, multiple phone calls and message between 3-4 am were not returned until 7-7:30 am. This was frustrating given the events. BUT David is a professional and I would recommend him. Understanding that not every job goes according to planned, David cares about his company, its reputation and the quality of their work. It's an old school approach which is refreshing.

We've had really good experiences with them. We've used them twice. They were very professional and very prompt. The issue has been resolved so we're happy.

They appear to be honest. They are effective. They came in a reasonable amount of time. There was one plumber here doing the work.

On numerous occasions, when I call after hours, David Elman would answer those calls himself and is very friendly and fair. He has a sense of humor and is helpful when you're a do-it-yourself kind of renovator. Some of his technicans came and did things occasionally and they were good and clean. There were some places were his crew could improve a little on cleaning up after themselves. They were not the cheapest of the service providers but they were definitely the best.

Arrived on time, the company was very helpful in coordinating their arrival (I live close to home), so I was able to meet the installer at my house just as he arrived. The installer performed the work quickly, was very cordial, and provided some helpful insight into our dryer duct set up. Great, quick experience.

David Elman spent a good amount of time going over the different options for gas boilers with us to make sure we would get something that met our needs. The installation went smoothly and the crew was responsive and polite. Pricing was fair. We would definitely use Baker-Elman again and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Responsive. Came within a day of call to replace a very old leaking faucet. Instantly knew the faucet manufacture from basic description over the phone and provided a new one the next day. Frank arrived and replaced the faucet in a timely manner. Very professional and personable. No problems with the work. Would highly recommend and would use again.
