First, the women who answer the phone and work the front lines are great. Friendly service and very knowledgeable. I had one of the owners come in and give me an estimate for replacement of my water heater and he was very helpful and understood my needs and unusual predicament of the placement of it. The plumbers who came in and did the jobs were all professional, neat and did a great job. I would highly recommend them for any and all your plumbing needs.

It went very well. Our water heater was under warranty and they could locate the replacement model and install it the next day. They were punctual. I called them at 3pm the day the water heater in our home started leaking and the next day afternoon our new water heater was installed. They were very professional.

They haven't given me the entire breakdown. It's just like one line item.

Baker Elman was a great experience. They were extremely responsive to my questions about the initial cost and, using pictures sent back and forth, gave me a reliable estimate. They showed up on time and Frank was very professional and friendly. The internal shut off value was so corroded I couldn't use it and a section of the pipe had to be replaced for copper. He explained everything he did and the whole process took less than 2 hours. I would definitely use them again.

I emailed BE through Angie's list, and got an email back asking for a description of the plumbing problem (a leaky kitchen sink). I answered a few questions, and Susan emailed me a quick fix. 60 seconds later, I'm back in business. Wow.

Mike was the plumber who came to my house to unclog the toilet which he did pretty quickly. He noticed something strange in the water and I reached in and took out a small thin piece of cardboard which has my mechanics name and business address. This was great because I have lost my car keys (house and office) and searched everywhere. But he could not retrieve them from the toilet and explained that they likely moved ahead down the main drain. He did offer to lift off the toilet but was doubtful and then decided to look at the pipes in the cellar. He removed the end of a PVC pipe, looked with a flashlight and there they were!!!! He made a hook on a long wire and, finally, I have my keys back. And my toilet is fixed and all of this within 1/2 hour. So, Mike did a great job, very reasonable price and saved me a lot of money for a new car key. And not for nothing, he was also quite pleasant and good-natured. The secretary was also quite helpful navigating our schedules with our proximity so all this, from the initial phone call to the repair, was completed within just a few hours. I am very grateful. This company is top notch. Starts with the office manager Susan, she is very responsive and pleasant, but she also used to work for a plumbing parts distributor, so she is very knowledgeable. David, the owner comes and assesses most jobs and really spends the time to understand any issues and talks through with you what the best solution is. The guys are professional and very competent.

The company was very responsive to my original request for service. Before providing the service they wanted more details to determine what the problem is and purchase all required replacement parts ahead of time (they asked me to send pictures to make sure we got it right). They were very accommodating with identifying date and time for the service (and then arrived on time) and did the job in a professional way. Billing was easy as well. Great overall experience.

Called to have the problem inspected, they had the parts with them and fixed the problem on the spot. No need for callback. No consider them my "go to" plumbers!

Installed a new Kohler touchless flush toilet. Removed existing unit. Everything was excellent. They were prompt and professional. Service was very good and they answered all our questions prior to the installation.

Although I had sent photos online, when they arrived I was told that the water should be shut off for both jobs. The water inlet valve was in the wrong place and needed to be moved after part of the wall was removed. Since I live in a condo building, advance noticed needed to be given to my neighbors before the water can be shut off. Perhaps I should have been told this before they came to avoid a wasted trip. As custom, notices in my building were posted that the water in my stack would be shut off on the specific day from 10 am until 2 pm. The plumber arrived at 1:45 pm. The plumbing company knew about this time restriction. On the next trip the correct part for the leaking tub faucet was brought and installed. For the toilet the wall did not need to be removed after all. The toilet was installed and is working nicely. However, the toilet did not come with a toilet seat. I had bought the seat separately but it was the same make as the toilet. The toilet has a "skirt" according to the plumber and needs a top-mounted seat. The directions for the purchased seat said to tighten the bolts from below; this was impossible to do. I returned the seat and purchased another model; same problem. I called the toilet seat company and was told that the correct bolts come with the toilet. Apparently the plumber did not read the installation sheet (which I had sent in advance) that stated the bolts to top-mount the seat were included with the toilet. The plumber did not leave these bolts with me so I had to order new ones online, incurring additional expense and time.

My bathroom basin is a vintage 1902 ironstone basin, so it presented special problems in trying to fit new, modern fixtures. Frank had to ream out one of the holes to get the pop-up drain to fit. He got it done perfectly, and without hurting any of the ancient ironstone. When he was finished, he cleaned up beautifully. As far as I'm concerned, Baker Elman is my forever plumber.

Very punctual and high quality work. As usual - we have used them before. Susan in the office was very helpful answering questions and coordinating things. Rates have gotten quite high though - $130 per hour. I just got the bill and it mentions that the customer is responsible for parking tickets???? Not that this was the case, but I don't think this is the customers responsibility, especially at these juicy rates. Hence the "C" for professionalism.

The work they did went well. It was good over all. We did have an issue with one of the studs on the ball bearing mold that had to redo that work because we weren't having a carpenter, they paid one to come in and do it right.

I was extremely pleased with this plumbing company. My almost 10 year old water heater began to leak, so I consulted Angies List for a list of several possible plumbers with good ratings. Baker Elman responded quickly and was so helpful. Susan, who answered the phone, walked me through a number of questions about the existing model in my house, its serial number, and warranty details. She noticed that the water heater's warranty was still valid, so arranged to have someone replace it immediately for $650, the labor cost. My research had led me to believe that I would be paying much more for a replacement. I appreciated Susan's calm (and friendly manner), her investigative skills, and the quick response and professionalism of the plumber who replaced the unit before any real damage could occur.

David and his team were excellent from start to finish. They removed the old oil tanks, installed and added new piping, helped us with rebates, and helped us with the inspection for the town. One mark of their work is that the inspector marveled at their work and said he'd rarely seen such beautiful piping work. Highly, highly recommend this company.

It's been easy to set up appointments, and they ask for a detailed description of what we need, including photos where possible, so that they come prepared to do the job. In this as in all cases, they quickly assessed what needed to be done, explained the options to me, and proceeded to complete the job quickly.
