Description of Work: I just moved into a new house and was having problems with the water heater and oil burner. Baker Elman was willing to talk me through it over the phone for no cost. Eventually we realized a visit was needed but the advice and explanation of the problem was dead on.

Description of Work: Because of such a high rating given to the company by so many members, I called them to make an appointment to see if they could come to my house to diagnose our old hot water pipes installed in the basement. Inspite of the fact I left them three messages, they never returned my call. I was very disappointed about the professionalism and reliability of the company. At least I would expect them to have courtesy to return a call regardless they can do the job or not.

Description of Work: Estimate for new boiler. We spoke with many heating contractors, and Baker Elman was the only one to give a truly honest appraisal of our situation, and the only one not trying to over sell us on a system we don't need. Indeed, at the end of it all, we decided we did not need a new boiler --- for now. This is thanks to Baker Elman's integrity and thoroughness. Description of Work: The secretary was very helpful on my initial call, explaining that I should pick out the faucet I wanted myself. I assume that this not only let me choose the design but also saved some money. The plumber who did the work was punctual, courteous and very helpful, not only working efficiently but also explaining the problems and solutions and offering to help with any other little tasks.

Description of Work: They replaced an inefficient toilet with a new one that they special ordered for me. They were very nice people to deal with. They were responsive and did the work quickly and I thought the price was fair. I also had them look at replacing a couple of faucets in the shower and sink and they did that job as well.

Description of Work: Called for emergency service when my hot water heater broke-they responded right away and offered to come that day but I was unavailable. Came first thing the next morning after advising me that the heater was still under warranty. Professional, helpful and nice. Knowledgeable about other types of heaters, etc. Explained all aspects of the new heater and would definitely hire again.
