We purchased two $79 deals as we were in need of tuneups and repair on two machines. This is the greatest idea ever - a mobile service that comes to the customer. We were contacted within the stated period of time and a prompt appointment was set. Because we are located within the covered area, the trip was free! Each snow blower was located at a different house a couple streets away from each other. They fixed one, then went to check the other. Unfortunately the second machine was in need of more serious repair, so they took it to their shop. It took a few weeks for the part to come in, but it is an older model and it was a bit of a challenge. I am happy to say it was returned last week and all is fine! Thank you very much to this company. They were polite, skilled, friendly, and humorous. We would call them again with pleasure and already spread the word. We thank them very much and are sure anybody in need of a yard machine repair will love them as much as we do.

Dave ran an operational test cut after repairs on an existing snow bank and it worked great! I find that the service that Dave and company offers to the homeowner to be a good bargain. You don't have to tie up a weekend day to borrow a truck or pay $50 to $125 extra for pickup and delivery after waiting 2-10 days for the repair. It's at wherever you need it done, that day unless a complication arises. (incorrect parts sent from vendor). I will use Wainwright's Small Engine Service again when I need repairs for my equipment. He did a great job. Arrived as scheduled. Very polite, and went to work immediately. Spent 1-1/2 hours working on the snowblower. When he was done, it was shining like brand new, and he gave me tips and suggestions (to pass on to my husband) for best care techniques. I'll hire him for sure for our lawn mower. And I discussed with him whether he could help us get our chipper/shredder going (lost key for ignition; electric start only). He said he could so we are very hopeful that will work out. I would highly recommend Wainwright for any small engine service.

This was through an Angie's List deal. The folks from Wainwrights contacted me to schedule promptly. The first available time was later than I would have preferred, but that is a problem with Angie's deals; there is no way to find out about availability before committing to a purchase. Not the fault of the service provider. The arrived on time exactly when scheduled, and quickly restored the snow blower to operation (it would not start, probably due to old gas).

Dan and Ernie came out to my house to perform the service. They were very thorough and explained everything very clearly. They did a complete tune-up of my snowblower to bring it back to peak performance. They changed the oil and the spark plug and also changed out the gasoline. They informed us of the need to use Sta-bil with the gas, so the gas would be good for a year, as it sat between seasons. Also the Sta-bil products the engine from the ethenol used in today's gas. They took apart the carburator and made sure it was clean. Was having an issue with the snow chute and they were able to fix it as well. Provide many helpful tips along the way. Dan and Ernie were very professional and put the snowblower on a tarp on the driveway to do their work. Would definitely use Wainwright's Small Engine Service again in the future.

Went very well. They came out and performed tune up on my Honda snow blower. I mentioned to them I was having trouble with the reverse gear. That seems to be fixed! Thank you for helping! Joe

It went fine. I was a little anxious because of all the snow we were getting and I just wanted the snow to stop because I didn't have my machine and was doing so much shoveling. It got to the point that I felt that if I could just get the machine back, the plowable snow would stop and the state of Massachusetts could take a breather. :) With the awful weather we had, it was difficult for parts to be delivered in a timely manner, but I got the machine back. Had an issue with the gas/oil mixture when I got it back because by that point my snow blower hadn't been used since I first put the mixture in end of Nov to get ready for winter. Clogged up the fuel line. Wainwright came back out and emptied the mixture in the machine and refilled with premixed 50/50. Machine is running. Thank you.

After their service, when the first snowstorm hit, it would not start. At the time, they advised that you can leave gas in the tank but recommended adding stabilizer to it. I never had any issues with it not starting prior to the service.

The original appointment in mid-December went fine. I didn't check their work--they had such good reviews on Angie's list. However, the first time I used the blower, the stick that controls the chute (which direction the snow blows) was looser than original, and did not rotate the full 180 degrees. Initially, I wasn't going to have them come all the way back out to the house for this issue, but the 3rd time I used the blower, the chute was no longer working again. I called the owner, who was quite supportive, and said "we stand behind our work". I was glad to hear this, and given their positive reviews on Angie's list, asked if they also cold work on my generator, and he said yes. So today, they were supposed to repair the chute on the snow blower and repair the generator (which fires but doesn't keep running). My neighbor's snow blower also had broken 3 days ago, so I told him to bring it over to my house, and maybe they would have time to fix it. So, the Wainwright team arrived this morning as scheduled, and it was a colossal train wreck. When they arrived, I told the younger guy that I wanted my snow blower and generator fixed, and if they had time, to look at my neighbor's snow blower. He said OK, but the next 20-30 minutes consisted of the older guy from Wainwright completely ranting, raving, and cursing up a storm--completely unprovoked. I've never seen anything like it, and my grandfather was a pretty cranky, tough as nails truck driver. I was shoveling snow on the roof of my 2-story house, about 30 feet away from my detached garage (where they were working) and 20+feet in the air, and the older Wainwright employee is yelling "these f'ing people". He said it many times, and I could hear him plain as day from that distance. I live in a neighborhood in Brookline, not on a 10 acre farm, so I know my neighbors were hearing this guy's rant. And I know he was complaining because I had taken the handle apart trying to fix the chute. We've had 6+ feet of snow--and they couldn't come out for weeks--of course I'd try to fix it myself in the mean time. Then he gets on the phone w/ his son (the owner of Wainwright), and I hear him say over and over "He's full of s***!" (referring to me suggesting that the chute was not originally restored to it's original working condition). Now, keep in mind, I'm on the ROOF of my house, hearing all of this, and this older guy is just flying off the handle for no reason. I've got better things to do than make up a story about them not fixing the blower correctly and then staying home from work while they come out again to fix it. So, the darn thing wasn't fixed correctly the first time. The older guy didn't even do any work--he just stomped around yelling, cursing, and complaining. While he's talking on the phone, I yell to the other guy, "hey, I can hearing what you are saying!". It was like a scene from a movie where someone is saying horrible things about a person, and that person is standing there saying, "hello, I'm right here and can hear you.". That was me! When the older Wainwright employee gets off the phone, I told him, "you don't have to call your son to complain. you can talk to me." I was completely reasonable in the face of this guy's anger, hostility, and volatility. I inhibited my urge to yell back at this guy, quite frankly, because he was an older guy, and I'm sick of all of the anger that these snowstorms have brought out of people. All this guy had to do was handle things professionally and say, "look, you took the handle apart, that's gonna take us 30 min to put back together and we'll have to charge you." I wouldn't have cared one bit. I also wouldn't have minded if they didn't have time to fix my neighbor's snow blower--as I told the younger guy when they arrived...for all I know they had 3 other appointments and didn't have time for the unexpected work. Again, be a professional and just politely say, "sorry, we don't have time to fix the other blower, but we will be able to take care of the work you had told us about for today--your snow blower and generator. we can schedule another appointment to take care of your neighbors blower". The older Wainwright employee was so out of control that my wife, who was going to leave for work, heard him ranting and came out of the house and said, "I'm not comfortable leaving you alone with these guys." She thought she'd need to be around to call the police because of the way their employee was acting! At that point the older guy finally exhibited some self-awareness, and said his son would come back to finish the job. The good news is they'll come to your house to fix things. The bad news is--they will be at your house!!! Seriously, I still cannot believe how angry and unprofessional this guy was. I am not even mad--just shocked at how horribly he behaved. Unbelievable. The guy stated that his son would come out and finish the job. I'll be interested to see if I ever hear from them again...to be honest, today was so terrible, I don't think I want them back at my house.

Wainwright's was excellent! We have a lawn tractor that was practically brand new and after a five easy lawn mowings, the thing refused to start. We went back and forth with the manufacturer over the phone, tried every recommended fix and no luck. We decided to bring out Wainwright's to have a look at it. The guys arrived right on schedule and went to work, finally determining the issue. They were so professional, helpful, and experienced we decided to go local and have them order the replacement part and install/repair the tractor rather than mess around with an increasingly frustrating customer service department at the manufacturer. We wholeheartedly recommend WSES and will certainly be using them in the future for all our lawn and snow blower needs.

Father and son arrived early and started to work on both pieces of equipment immediately. They did a fabulous job on both and they were very professional. Money well spent!

The service people arrived on time and completed the service efficiently and professionally. I didn't even have to be here--I could have just left the snow blower outside for them to service. They did an excellent job, including adjusting the chute so that it rotates more easily. The engine runs smoothly and the blower works efficiently now. More impressive, the first time I used the snow blower after the service, I had some trouble shifting, and the gear shift mechanism stopped working within a few minutes. I don't think it was as a result of their service, or something they overlooked, but when I called them, they sent another technician out immediately, and fixed the gear shift without charge. I would not hesitate to use their services again. In fact, I have already put in a call to have another problem fixed, and, on my recommendation, my neighbor is also scheduling a service with them.

Professional, knew what he was doing and a pleasure to interact with.

They told me that they want an extra $39 to make minor repairs. The deal said it includes minor repairs.

Couldn't have been a better experience. Timely, professional, did what they promised and came back to fix a problem I'd inadvertently created, all at a fair price. I wish all businesses operated like Wainwright's Small Engine does.

Each and every contact I had with Wainwrights was impressive. They were courteous, and faithful to their word. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

The manager informed me about the additional travel charge so there was no surprise. Crew showed up on time and performed the work right away, seem to have done a thorough job and explained to me the work they performed (I know nothing about snowblowers) and offered some maintenance tips. Can't ask for much more.

the craftsman snow blower was fixed and became more powerful than my sno-tek snow blower i had just purchased last year. the reverse doesn't work anymore but who cares! it's more powerful!!

I had a problem starting my snow thrower with the electric starter and contacted Wainwright's on a Friday evening with details of the problem. They got back to me within a few hours with some suggestions. I got it going this morning! I plan to contact them next fall to do a tune up and fix the electric start.

Does someone with 87 positive reviews really need an 88-th? I don't know and I don't care. They're getting one because they deserve it. I have a single stage Toro with electric start. This is its 5-th winter without having been serviced and it began stopping after 15 minutes and then losing its oomph. The two-stage AIrens (also electric start) is only in its second winter. I believe the Toro was showing me the importance of preventive maintenance. Checked Angie's List. Found Wainwright Small Engines with 80+ positive reviews. Gave them a call. Both were serviced in my driveway. I got a lot of hints about how to keep them running better. When this last snow storm came they both started up and ran as good as new. Actually, they start BETTER than new. I plan on calling them every year before snow season hits, at least for the Airens.

We set a date and made arrangements for the work to be done without me having to be home. Mr. Wainwright arrived at the scheduled date and did the tune-up and installed a replacement starter as the old one had failed. This work was performed in early December, but I waited until I gave the blower a real test under realistic conditions. Well, I just completed snow blowing around 30" of snow in my double wide, 4 car length driveway, and the snow blower worked as well as it did when it was new. I did have a small issue that I brought to his attention, and he got back to me promptly. I am a very satisfied customer and Wainwright's Small Engine Service will be my first call for all of this kind of work.

They were good at what they did, but they claimed that they set-up an appointment with me, but they just showed up one day. Luckily, I was home. I would advise them to be better at confirming appointments. The cost of the service was just the $146 Big Deal. I was satisfied with the service that they provided.
