Description of Work: They came by to look at what we wanted done (bathroom reno, kitchen updates, new front steps, moving a door and a couple other items). After walking through it all, they said they would get back to us with an estimate. After about a month, they called to say they finally had an estimate and asked if they could come by the following Monday at 630 to review and we said yes. They emailed that day to ask if we could do earlier but we couldn't bc we work. I told them they were welcome to email us the proposal if they could no longer make the appt. they said that's what they would do but we never got the email with the proposal.

Description of Work: This was a Big Deal for a handyman for half a day. He put in shelving in a closet, painted a banister and trim work, and repaired water damaged wood to exterior of the house.

Description of Work: In 2011 I took a Big Deal for $99.00 Handymen Service. I made an appointment for the work, confirmed the date, scheduled a day out of the office and arranged for him to park my building parking lot. HE NEVER SHOWED UP. I called about 30 minutes after his scheduled arrival time but received no return call. I did receive an email timed 15 minutes before his scheduled arrival time saying another customer needed his attention and he would reschedule my work. I replied that I found his behavior unprofessional reflecting badly on the home improvement profession. I called Angie's List to complain and my money was refunded. After this experience I have not taken any other Big Deals as I don't want another bad experience.

Description of Work: he never showed up. he proposed coming last weekend but said he was available this week. i counter proposed morning of jan 24 . he never responded in spite of several email followups to confirm the date by me. his phone mail box is full so as others have noted he is probably overwhelmed and has taken a day job. so please angies list, give me my money back or twist his arm to show up. I do like the positive reports posted for him and would love to see him show up so i can post one as well. I cant afford to miss work too many times. Thanks

Description of Work: This was a special deal on Angie's List- $100 for 4 hours of handyman service. As a brand new Angie's List member, this was the first time I signed up for a special deal. when I called Silvio initially he said the response to his ad was overwhelming. He said he would try to schedule my repair within a couple of weeks. I followed up with an email. When I did not hear back for a week, I called Silvio again. He was vary apologetic and arranged to come that same evening to look at the problem. After he looked at the problem, he was able to come back and repair it two days later. The issue -- we were having water infiltration around one corner of our tub where the tile grouting was failing. I had put duct tape on to stop the water getting in until we could get it repaired. Silvio re-attached some loose tile with adhesive, regrouted a sizable area of the whole tub tile and put a silicone bead around the whole tub/tile boundary and also the tub facuet heads. Silvio emailed me a list of supplies to pick up for him at Home Depot and I was happy to do that . The supplies cost was about $40, but we now have lots of leftover grout, tile adhesive, silicone etc. if we need it again. The repair was finished on time and on budget. My credit card was charged by Angie's List when I got the coupon, so I trust Silvio will receive his payment timely from the Angie's List offices. When he opened the damaged area, Silvio alerted us that the water penetration had caused more problems behind the wall, and eventually we will need more extensive repairs/remodeling. However he was able to repair and make it watertight for now. I suspected we might have larger issues we need to address, but was very grateful that Silvio co9uld make the temporary repair. This has bought us some time to think about a full renovation of the bathroom. I will definitely ask Silvio to bid on that project..
