He had the right tool and the right knowledge to get the job done. He also suggested I should generally hold down the flush lever for 3 seconds to make certain that all the water in the tank was used for the flush, and reduce the chance the problem would recur.

I had service performed on 7/20 for a main sewer drain cleanout. The service tech was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous, and did the job needed. Responded fairly quickly within 2-3 hrs. However, the price ($415) was very steep, given the amount of time spent on the job. The price was quoted me prior, and I know Roto-Rooter's fixed pricing policy favors consumers when the work needed extends to multiple hours, but given the relatively short time spent resolving the problem it turned out to be a very expensive rate per hour. At this cost I'd have to think twice before using them again. Too bad, since everything else about the service was excellent. They do have a 6-month guarantee which eases the pricing pain a little.

I found water in my basement on Sunday and determined it was coming from my utility sink in my basement backing up from a recent shower two floors up. I confirmed by running the tub and watch water bubble up in the now full sink. I had Rhino Rooter out on Sunday afternoon to assess the situation. They noticed there was a house trap and the awkward position of the trap access was under the stairs. He said there was no way he could get to it. They ran the snake down the main sewer line and said it was clear. I went down in the basement Monday night and found water in the basement again. This time when I tested it was coming out of the laundry drain. That's when I logged onto the Roto-Rooter website and scheduled a same day visit. Was supper easy. I requested a 1pm appointment and their email confirmation said I had a 1-3pm window. I received a confirmation phone call shortly after 1pm to let me know someone would be out in 30-45mins. Stephen H. arrived and quickly assessed the situation. He let me know how bad it might be and let me know that he would have to disassemble the stairs to get to the trap. He only had to remove one tread and was able to get into the trap easily. All it took to clear the trap was a swirl of his crow bar. He then took the extra time to run the snake through the trap and out to where there might have been some root intrusion and found it to be clear. Stephen H. was very professional and walked me through every step he was taking and the reasoning behind it. He also gave me a 6 month guarantee without me even asking. Very satisfied with the service. Hopefully we don't need to call on him.them again, but if we do, I know who to call.

Horrible. They showed up, gave my wife a quote of $600 to fix two leaky faucets and a shower fixture, saying that didn't include parts. When she asked how the breakdown of costs looked, they reversed course and said that that did include parts. They then showed up to the house to work on the job, but didn't have the correct cool tools to complete the job. They left and when I followed up they said it was going to be at least another $100 or $150 to fix the job. Needless to say we moved on.

I?ve consistently had great service through Roto-Rooter, and this time was no different. I recently bought a home with an older garbage disposal?not long after we moved in, it failed on us and the sink clogged up. Frank Cormo was prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous, and the issue was resolved quickly and efficiently. In addition to installing a new disposal and snaking the drain, he took the time to explain good routine maintenance to prevent future problems. I would highly recommend them!

Josh is the plumber, he was very knowledgeable/ professional about what we want to have done. offer various options and his recommendation base on our future plan of renovation into what we need to do today to fix the leaking. The service was very punctual (actually he's early but we did get a phone call about his arrival and make sure we are fine with it ) and he did the job in the time he indicated. We have use this service in the past and was very happy with their professional and ability to get the job done. we have in the past have similar issue and use 2 other different company service without good result. We will definitely call them for any issue in the future

The technician responded to our call in the middle of the night when our septic tank was overflowing in the basement. He turned off the system and snaked a cable with a camera through the pipe to determine the break was under the street in front of our house that had been cause when the city had dug up a water pipe and cracked the septic pipe right next to it. The technician was nothing but professional and very knowledgeable - would recommend them highly

Steve H was very professional and courteous. The job was much harder than expected (a lower pipe had rusted solid). Steve was a trooper and eventually got around the underside of the clog to clear it. He put a lot of effort into the job and was patient through it all.

Excellent from start to finish. Customer service rep who scheduled my appointment was courteous and helpful. I called mid-morning and she had someone at my house before noon on the same day which was amazing. The person who showed up to fix the problem was efficient and very knowledgeable. He even gave us info about tips and products to avoid having this problem in the future. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience dealing with Roto-Rooter in Framingham, MA.

My tub drain was clogged with toilet paper. (long story...) We tried the traditional unclogging methods but were unsuccessful. We called roto-rooters and they were at my house within 2 hrs. The technician was polite, gave us an explanation on the job and expenses. Then he got to work. After working for an hour, the technician came to us and explained that he was unsuccessful and needed folks with a different skill set to help. He left and the main office was going to call us to re-schedule. My only complain on this visit was that the technician did not clean the bathroom at all. I am not asking to have the bathroom washed, but in this case there was mud on the floor and dirt all over the tub and sink. A quick wiping would have gone a long way. The main office call promptly the next day and did the scheduling. The second technician was on time and very polite as well. He explained the job, the options and expense. He then got to work. Through out the job, he would stop and explain his findings so far and how he would proceed next. Eventually he was able to make the water flow!! He explained the type of drain that we have, and how to maintain it. Also, he wiped the bathroom down. In short, this was a great experience. It took a bit to get the job done but not at RR fault. They were very good on following up and explaining all details at every step of the way. We will definitely use them again! Gonzalez/Newton

,So far, so good. The drain works fine now. Vinicius, the technician who came,was friendly, knowledgeable and within the time frame promised. He appeared to know what to do,as he took little time to successfully unclog the drain. I would recommend both him and Roto-Rooter again.

provider came within half hour on a holiday when we had a bathroom disaster. Fixed problem - and told us how and where to find coupons to reduce price. We had called other services as well - all of which had $100 surcharges for holiday prices - Roto Rooter were the most reasonably priced and very helpful.

Before the work started I asked for a estimate on the cost I was told his labor rate was going to be $595.00 that was before finding the problem On the previous Friday the same technician came for the same problem and he looked at my dishwasher connections which were deemed OK he fastened my dishwasher in properly bill was $167.00 which I paid so when he came back for in essence the same problem now the rate was $595.00 for just labor my total bill was $671.00 - I was informed you estimated rate is $234.00 an hour being I was in such a bind with the water coming in I had no choice at that time but to get it fixed. Stupid me Your fees are ridiculous and I will never use your services again

I wasn't sure about calling Roto-Rooter to deal with our problem. I normally prefer to use the "little guys," but I gave them a call as my usual plumber was busy. We're in Northampton MA and Roto is in Springfield, so I felt a little weird having someone come from so far away. But I don't think I've ever called anyone for service and had such a SPEEDY response. They scheduled the work for the same day I called - within an hour or two. Damian arrived ON TIME, was professional and courteous, he heard what needed to be done and let me know EXACTLY what it would cost before he did a thing. It seemed a little high for what I wanted, but I needed it done and he was here. (And I say it seemed high - but I hadn't done any comparison shopping so I don't know) Damian did the work quickly, didn't leave a mess to clean up, and the cost was EXACTLY what he estimated. No hidden costs. If you want no-nonsense, timely, efficient plumbing service, it's worth a call.

Provider was punctual, polite and thorough. When faced with a more difficult problem than expected, he was persistent until the problem was solved. He seemed knowledgeable and was able to explain the problem and its resolution well.

Lindon (Tech # 5798) arrived on time, assessed the situation after asking questions and answering some of mine, then did an inspection. He then made recommendations and discussed same. Given the problems we had been having, we opted for a complete service, despite the rather high cost. IIt was our decision, no pressure, only options and what each entailed. Lindon was prompt, courteous, informative and carelful with the process. He cleaned up any mess resulting from the service to toilets, sinks and tubs. He also explained the guarantee that was part of the service and then showed ad explained everything that he'd done. All in all, the service call was what a customer would expect from a national service firm - professional and well-executed.

We made an appointment to get an estimate for a possible plumbing service that we may need. The appointment was made this weekend for today, Tuesday. My husband was given a 4 hour window in the middle of the day and had to take the day off work to be available. He finally called at 2pm, when he was informed that the person scheduled to come to our house was not in today. They then did not make an effort to get anyone else and my husband had to press for someone else to come. They said they would look into it and call back. However they did not call back and when he called them they said they had no availablility. They did not care and made no effort. We will not be using them ever. This was completely unprofessional and if we had at least received a call this morning or way in advance, we would not have had a problem and if they had at least tried to rectify the issue.

They couldn't do the job very well. They drag their feet and they didn't seem to know what they were doing. I will not recommend them to others.

The plumber (Tony) was excellent - very thorough and knowledgeable. He explained everything and all made sense and was easy to understand. I had the same problem one year ago and had the same company (Roto-Rooter) come out. Unfortunately, although that plumber snaked a pipe it was not the sewer pipe as he could not locate it. I am sure that this is why the problem returned. Also, Roto-Rooter guarantees their work for 6 mos. only. And, their price for the same service had increased over the year-which was disappointing. However, I am satisfied now and think that Tony actually solved the problem this time. Thx

We had a clogged toilet 2 days ago. I partially unclogged using a plunger. My husband tried with a small snake and I had been using Bio Clean agent 3 times hoping it would resolve the problem but no success. I called our regular plumber but they were booked until 4 days later. We have another bathroom so this was not an emergency. But I worried about any hidden serious problems. My husband found this company online hoping the same day service and they said they could. A very friendly technician came within the time frame. He asked me if there was the same problem before and I said no. He even didn't see the toilet but quoted $240 if he successfully unclogs but no charges if he can not. He honored Angie's list member discount and it became $200. Still I felt so expensive but I didn't know what fair price is and couldn't compare so I agreed. He brought in a bigger snake and he did just a few flush snake efficiently and all done within 30 sec. Interestingly I paid for the result not labor or time. Also I noticed another Angie's List member paid $230 to unclog a toilet a few month ago. I'm wondering if they had a small raise or prices are different depending on locations or house/apartment situation. The technician was so nice that he recommended us to buy the similar snake which can be bought for $50 at Home Depot next time. Overall the experience was good with a successful result except the price. Next time, I will research more if our regular plumber is not available and I might use them again or might not.

The technician, Augustine Edeh arrived on time and was extremely polite, nice and knew what to do. He took care of the work and made sure that all was cleaned up and put back as he found it (asked me to check and make sure I was satisfied before he left). I do this annually to avoid sewage backup from roots, which had been a problem in the past. I've never had a bad experience with this company.

Sewer line cleanout was done very thoroughly and professionally. Technician was even able to assess the type and condition of the sewer line using a camera. Technician also did an excellent job cleaning up after the work was complete. I would rate the service and the technician (Steve, Tech #886) very highly.

This is the third time we've used RotoRooter and have never had to wait for more than a few hours for a service technician to arrive and save the day. We will definitely use them again!
