New England Gutter King was very responsive from the beginning. Scheduling was easy, crew was right on time, work was great.

I bought Angie?s Big Deal to have gutters cleaned for $99 (plus a $35 surcharge for attached garage as noted in the deal). After purchasing I was contacted by NE Gutter Ling to schedule an appointment and I called back and did so. On the day of the appointment I was surprised no one showed up (though they say you do not have to be home) so I called and they said they were overbooked and would have to come out the following day. I suggested and they agreed that a proactive phone call on their part to inform me of the delay would have been helpful The next day a team of two showed up and professionally cleaned the gutters and even helped me by banging in a few loose gutter nails. Service was completed but when asked for payment they were a little confused with Bid Deal coupon as I had to explain I only owed the surcharge. We were quickly able to resolve and they were on their way. I suppose I was this team?s first Big Deal customer. Overall good service but a little better communication would have been appreciated. I would use them again.

I didn't have to be home. They just needed water spigot left on for flushing. Seemed to do a good job.

I purchased the Big Deal from Angie's List (and it was a great deal!) to have the gutters cleaned on the building with our condo. We're a two unit condo (duplex) but were priced like a single family home, which was great. My only issue was that they left the debris from the gutters in plastic bags for me to dispose. We missed the town pick up and the dump won't take the debris in plastic bags. Not sure what I'm going to do with it - probably should start a compost pile!

The estimate was insanely overpriced so I didn't do anything with that. The work was really very simple, they just got up and cleaned the gutters. They did a fine job. I wouldn't normally go with them, because their prices for the other stuff was really high. It was only a good deal because of the deal that they had. I wouldn't normally contract with them under normal pricing.

They were on time and they were certainly polite and professional. I think it was a neutral experience. They didn't wow me but they were not horrible. They were fine. I was a little bit of a weird experience, it was a pouring rainy day when they came. They don't know why they did it. We never did a final walk through and there was one small thing that was missing from what they said they would do. I understand why they didn't do the final walk through. It was just a $15 part that they didn't end up doing so it was not worth to just call them and have them come back out again. It was kind of annoying.

I called around for estimates and this company had good reviews and availability. When I called, the person I initially spoke with was a woman who was able to get my house details and give me an estimate over the phone. I called a little later to set up the job and another person, who said he was with the answering service (I was surprised; it wasn't yet 5PM on a weekday), was unable to answer any of my questions. They wouldn't change my decision, so I arranged for the job anyway. I was told that the team would come when I wasn't home and that I could either leave a check for the price or send it in the mail. I decided to send the check because I thought that was more secure. The team did a fine job and all is draining well. There was a handwritten note on the invoice that one gutter needed to be repaired or replaced. I called the company to get more info and was ready to hire them to come out. The person who answered the phone told me that he was with the answering service and could not tell me anything about the comment. I was surprised at this. How busy is a local company that the people who answer the phone aren't in direct contact with the people who do the work? How can they really not know anything other than how to answer the phones? Anyway, the guy said he'd pass the message on but I never heard from anyone. Since I never actually met a person from the company and I only got people from the answering service two out of the three times I called, I don't have a strong impression of the company. And the fact that no one returned my call about a pretty much guaranteed job made me less impressed. I feel no loyalty; I'm ambivalent about them. I'll look for another company next time.

They performed a cleaning, but did not unclog a downspout. I don't think they did a thourough job the first time. I had to call them back and pay another service call fee.

On the phone I was told that both the Repair/re-attachment of the Gutter and Gutter cleaning teams could not appear on the same day. Told me what it would cost for the repair, but told me since only the cleaning team would arrive I would only have to pay for the clean, they would a**** then let me know what will have to be done to reattach gutter. They ended up repairing the gutters the same time they showed for the cleaning. I left the money for them for the cleaning, they left me a bill for the re-attacthment, perfectly fine. The troublesome portion was it was only about 2 days latter they became very persistant to get their money. Not only did they send a second bill but I recieved a third bill all within about 1.5 week time frame. Did not even give me a chance to get a check in the mail. Overall a fine experience and I would use again for they did a good job. Would be nicer if they gave recommendations on what to do to make better. Ex. I know the end of our downspout is crinkled, they never offer to fix it, cost would be expected.

The bottom line is that New England Gutter Kings engaged in a classic bait-and-switch with regards to their pricing and then followed it up with VERY AGGRESSIVE bill collection within days of the service (not even giving me the traditional 30 days to pay). The details are as follows: This was an "Angie's List Deal of the Week". It advertised "Whole House Professional Gutter Cleaning" for $99. The notice did say "We do need to know if you have any other sections of gutter besides the main house that you would like cleaned. There is an additional charge of $35 for each additional section besides the main house." However, they decided that because my home has two (short) additional roof lines, that they did not count as the "main house" and therefore charged me an additional $70. I argued that this was unfair (and really ridiculous), but we had already purchased the deal at that point, so there was no turning back even though it effectively almost doubled the price of the work. Furthermore, they told me that they would bill me afterwards for the additional $70. They left an invoice when they left which I put into my pile to pay with my monthly bills. I then got 5 letters and three phone calls from them over the next 5 weeks, each demanding immediate payment. They even threatened to call a collection agency and to "make a detrimental effect" on my credit rating. I would not recommend that anyone work with these folks again. I do not trust them and I do not like doing business this way. I will also add that my wife and I have been members of Angie's List for several years and have had almost uniformly positive experiences. This is the first negative review we have written. I am writing this addendum in response to the reaction written by NE Gutter Kings. Notwithstanding their promise to reach back out to us, we have received no such overtures (funny how they can't find the time given that they had the time for so many harassing phone calls about the bill). For the record, our credit rating is excellent and despite the implication below, we are not in the habit of ignoring our bills - we pay them on a monthly cycle like most folks. Also, contrary to the implication below, their calls and letters were not ignored and the matter was never referred to a collection agency. I suppose I should not be surprised because these types of misleading statements are exactly the trouble I had with NE Gutter Kings in the first place. It is equally unsurprising that there are a number of other reviews here citing similar issues with NE Gutter Kings. As they so snidely point out, I think A.L. members can see for themselves what the issue is here. Use NE Gutter Kings at your own risk.

Ron and his team from Gutter Kings were as good as you can get when it comes to a well oiled team, working professionally and efficiently to replace our gutters - half of which were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. The product (helmeted gutters), the installation, the conscientiousness to detail - all were outstanding. I could not have been more pleased. The salesman who came for the estimate was amazing - smart and not trying to sell you the cadillac - he worked hard to assist us with what we needed. I am real impressed with this company. Quality work, efficient, good followup, good client service. GREAT PRODUCTS. I watched the installation from end to end, and these guys had the job nailed down. They forgot to bring two downspout hoses with them - BUT the morning after, they were here and had them installed lickity split! I could not say enough about their workmanship. TERRIFIC COMPANY - KEEP IT UP, GUYS!

Used the Angie's List Big Deal to purchase routine gutter cleaning. No problems scheduling the cleaning. The crew did a good job and cleaned up. All the debris was bagged and left in an outside trash can.

The crew did a great job. They cleaned the gutters and the area around the house where some of the debris fell. They performed their job in a timely and courteous manner. They took it upon themselves to reinstall old downspout strainers that had loosen over time. They even recommended a product that they carry that would do a better job, which I will order the next time I have them work at my home. Finally, they were kind enough to reposition a down spout that had been out of line for years and was always leaking water through the seam. This was a last minute request of mine that they fixed without issue.

I was not home when they did the work but they arrived on the day they said they would and did a good job.

Fine job. You call them up, they tell you when they are coming, you don't need to be home. Good price and reliable. They leave the bag of leaves for you to dispose with.

It was ok, would probably not use them again though. Much confusion from the time I purchased the deal, called to make the appt and was told I would receive a call the following week to set it up. The next day I received another intro call and tried to explain to the man that I spoke with someone the day before but he insisted that did not happen! Was told I would get a call to let me know when they were coming out (I really wanted to be there to ask questions about my gutters) and I never was notified of that. Just one morning I heard noise out front and it was 2 younger men cleaning my gutters. They were polite enough, well only spoke with one of them. They left a green trash bag of leaves off to the side of my house which I had no problem with but my gutter in the front a piece of it was on the ground and they were in their vehicles and I asked if they could fix my gutter because it was not like that and he did.

They quoted the job about 2 days after I contacted them. And the job was done less than a week later. This was at their peak season in the fall. The quote was very reasonable, especially the repair to the trim that had come off in a storm. The entire job was quite a bit less than I expected. The covered gutters look really nice and they work perfectly so far. I didn't have to be there while the work was being done, so I didn't have to take off any time from work. I was highly impressed with the company and would definitely use them again.

They were punctual, did the job in good order and left the paperwork in a good location.

Very impressed. Once I purchased the service, I was contacted right away to set up the appointment. The gutters were cleaned on schedule and I was left with a report that detailed the cleaning and condition of the gutters. Would use them again!

they provider called me in october when i purchased the coupon we scheduled the appointment for th second week in november he was suppose to call me the day before never received a call the observation sheet was inaccurate all my downspout are missing the low part thwy said the wer in good condtion i dont know if the gutters were actually cleaned because i wasnt here

In brief: They called the day before the expected service date to confirm and ask for access to an outdoor water supply. They did not show up the next day. I called to reschedule and was told they would call the day before they planned to to the work. There was no call. I know they came because there was a ring of gutter debris around my house. Previous gutter service companies cleaned up after the work and I expected the same this time. Guess the work does not include site clean up.

I have no idea whether they came to clean my gutter or not. They initially made a schedule at Dec 4th, asking for a accessible water. I did as their request, but felt they did not use the water. One week later, I got another phone call for a gutter clean schedule on Dec 11th. I was surprised and asked why, and was told their crew went my property late and did not totally finish the gutter clean job last week. They told me they would leave a gutter evaluation and debris at the front door of my property after they finished their work, but I could not find anything there, no evaluation, no debris. Then I called them, and was told no evaluation was because their crew forgot it, no debris might be because of too little debris, so their crew carried it away. I was also told that they would mail me a gutter evaluation to my home address, but they only sent me an invoice, no evaluation at all. I'm not satisfied with t New England Gutter King's work.

One of the things that I liked very much was the fact that they called to remind me that I had contracted for them. I tend to be very forgetful and really appreciated this. They were also very flexible on the date and they cleaned up so that there was no debris on the ground. I would definitely recommend them.

After buying our coupon we received a call to schedule the service. They gave us a very flexible schedule and we agreed upon a day, they mentioned they would only need a garden hose spigot (they used their own hoses). We received a call the day before to remind us and on the day of service, they were fast and efficient. We could not even telll they had been there other than clean gutters. Excellent job.

Caveat Emptor... I was quite literally flabbergasted to find on my invoice, provided AFTER the service was complete and I'd paid via personal check, a large, bold-faced warning which stated NEVER to pay their employees directly for services, nor to accept any "additional" services that their employees might offer without calling the office first, along with a warning to not pay in cash. Their confirmation auto-call the day before had informed me that I could leave payment on the door in an envelope. Silly me for assuming that meant that they trusted their employees enough to pick it up. What the warning above says to me is that they have a bad enough problem with illicit activity by their employees that they feel it necessary to warn customers... after the fact, mind you. Further, when I phoned and asked about it, their representative told me that "if I were you, I'd have my accounts monitored" for identity fraud or theft. Simply unbelievable. I was beside myself with anger, and asked to speak to a supervisor, who of course was not available. Nor did they return my call after I left a message for one. And yes, I did call my bank to ask them to monitor my accounts. Bottom line: apparently their employees cannot be trusted. I don't want people like that working on my house, let alone up on ladders where they can see what kind of valuables we have in our home, should they be of an inclination to use that information. Oh, and as regards the service itself, they did a half-witted job of that as well, leaving leaf debris all over the place, including huge wet clumps on our front porch. Never again.
