The Handyman Matters workman, Andrew, was extremely competent, professional, friendly, and accommodating. He was also very punctual. From the start, we were very pleased with Handyman Matters, in contrast with a recent nightmare with another handyman business, since they were easy to reach, kept their promises, sent us reminders of our appointment, and promptly asked us about our satisfaction afterwards. I would recommend Handyman Matters to anyone needing such services--but especially to those coming off of bad experiences with other businesses. You will be delighted!

The handyman showed up on time and was courteous and professional. He did a good job on both the painting and caulking and was also able to give me some advice on gutter extensions. Overall, I am very satisfied. I would use Handyman Matters again. My only reservation is that their regular rate is a little steep at $85/hour with an additional per visit service charge. I had this work done with an AL coupon so I saved a lot. I've used other handyman services in the past that had a lower rate. But it may be worth a little extra for the prompt and quality service.

Andrew arrived early when his prior app't cancelled. He kindly agreed to come back at his scheduled time, as his earlier time was inconvenient for me. He was efficient and pleasant. I would definitely use this service again.

After trying to reconnect with Bob we finally scheduled time for him to come out and measure the door. I explained I wanted to replace the standard door with a new exterior french door. And also wanted to replace the storm door (this was not in the original quote). The quote was $1,400. And would take a few weeks to schedule the work. About 3 weeks later I contacted Bob asking for a date that we could get the job done , we agreed on a date and I was told it would take a full day so the handyman would be there at 7:00am. At 9:00 I called the office to ask if there was a mixup on the date and time. They explained the handyman had to pick up the doors and was on his way, he-arrived at 10:30 and was professional but a little upset that he was pulled from another job to do this one. He was not the fastest worker and at one time had to leave to go get some additional supplies? I noticed the damage on the plaster walls but Since it is an old house they are plaster walls and I figured he would easily fix this before the job was done, since he did not even acknowledge this damage. At 4:00 he told me he was leaving, the door was in place but no storm door and no threshold was installed. I asked about the reminder of the job and was told I had to call the office and schedule for the remainder of the work to be done and that this would be an additional cost for another visit. He collected a check for $1,400 , which meant that I paid $1,600 as I gave a 200 deposit when I was quoted the job. So here I am left with a damaged wall and the job not finished yet spent $1600. I had a buddy come over and fix the wall, and will wait till spring to put the storm door on myself. They were professional and polite but the situation left me a little unsatisfied.

Andrew, the contractor who came out, is very easy to work with. A really good guy. He is especially skilled at tiling. That has been the trade he's worked in the longest. The tile job he did looks perfect. The space that needed to be filled in was just a tiny bit larger than the subway tiles we had to fill it in with ... but too small a gap to cut a tile for. He positioned the single row of tiles just right so that it looks the same as the rest of the original backsplash. Last month, Andrew did a great job taking out the yucky ceramic soap dish and toothbrush holder tiles in the bathroom and replacing them. No chips to the surrounding tiles. He's an expert tiler!

We provided the supplies and they did good work.

There were issues with punctuality, doing plumbing incorrectly, installing appliances incorrectly, and having a 5-day job last several weeks. Since this project, I have fortunately found a really good and reliable contractor to do a lot of work at our home in a different town.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was wonderful. I've had them in a couple of times, once in June and then in the fall. There were no additional charges. I could see by the work that the repair person did that he was a craftsman so I had him back to make some replacement windows for my back porch. He did that work in the fall and he did a great job. The attention, the detail and the customer service was really excellent. The price was good. I am using them again.

The windows on our third floor dormer have leaked since we purchased the condo in 2004. We have had three companies do 'repairs' and the water still runs down the interior wall when we have driving rain. Rich accurately assessed the problem, removed the windows entirely, corrected flashing mistakes on the exterior, and put everything back together again. He cleaned up the debris, answered questions, and stayed within the estimate. We have since found the other set of windows in the same dormer are leaking and will definitely have him back to correct those in the spring.

We recently purchased a condo, and while it was in great conditions, there was a bunch of little things here and there that really needed fixing because of some poor decisions made by the builder years ago. Rich came in, we gave him our list, discussed a few options for some of the trickier issues, and off he went. The list was pretty long, so we prioritized it, expecting to have to call him back a few more days to get everything done, but I turned around, and first thing I knew all my high priority items were done, and he was already working on the "nice to haves". In the end, my wife and I had to find more things to fix to keep him busy the whole day! Needless to say, we'll know who to call next time we need something.

This was a great experience. Handyman was skilled and efficient. Results were great. Price very reasonable.

They were perfect organization. We have worked with them so many times in the past and they are good listeners, take your instructions and follow them and do good work.

It went swimmingly. The company communicates well. Employee arrived as scheduled, was polite and helpful. There was no haggling over 10 extra minutes worked. They did the job as promised and made no fusses. They left no mess behind, they were not intrusive, in fact left packages neatly in garage. I will use them again for sure, if I ever need handyman services. They appear trustworthy.

Brian was great. Very efficient. Have many things done within 4 hours. Will hire him as our handyman in future.

Brian was fantastic--he should up ahead of schedule and promptly got to work. We had been trying to repair the door ourselves as it had been damanged by a previous owner and then completely torn off by recent high winds. Brian fixed it within about 30 minutes and it works better than it ever has since we purchased the home. I would defintely hire them again. The only glich was that the original appointment was missed because Brian was tied up on another job and the dispatcher did not call to let us know. Handyman Matter made it right and waived the service charge. Overall, a great experience.

So, I was even able to add a few additional items to the list. I am very pleased with the work and would definitely call them again and recommend them to others!

We had a very wide closet with one small door so it was hard to access the space on either side of the door. We used Handyman matters to widen the door frame if the closet and put in two double doors. | |Bob, the owner was extremely responsive to my questions about the project. He never seemed annoyed no matter how many questions I asked! We had purchased a big deal for two hours of service at a discounted rate, and decided to go for this project even though it was more hours. The project itself took a day and a half of work. Al, th contractor, showed up on time and was extremely clean (covered everything in the room and put cloths down so it wouldn't get the floors dirty) and did great work. We were really impressed with the finished project and would definitely use then again for other projects.

I called Handyman Matters in the hope of having several jobs around the house completed - after seeing several positive reviews on Angie's List, I thought this would be an efficient way to have several things completed by the same provider: repair of a screen door, redesign of our laundry space, and, perhaps, replacement of a swinging/hinged door on the laundry room with a sliding/pocket door. Bob showed up at the appointed time and went through the jobs, letting me know that he didn't think pocket doors could be installed without significant redesign of the wall. This was consistent with the message from other providers, though different in some critical elements as well (amount of width needed to install the pocket door, etc). In any event, there was no follow-up - I thought that I may have missed the quote in my email inbox, as he told me the estimate would come over email within 1-2 weeks, but it has now been over 4 weeks since the appointment and there has been no response to 3 phone messages left in follow-up (one per week starting 2 weeks after the appt).

I received a call shortly before my original appointment telling me that my appointment needed to be postponed because the handyman, Rich, had run into a problem on the job before mine. I asked the manager, Bob Samson, if my appointment could be rescheduled for Saturday morning. He contacted the handyperson, Rich, who kindly agreed to come on Saturday for my convenience. Rich arrived on time on Saturday and performed all tasks extremely competently. He was a pleasure to work with and is clearly very skilled in a number of areas. I was impressed by both Bob's and Rich's professionalism and will definitely call on them again in the future.

We had to reschedule 3 times- each time we chased him down to reschedule since they were no show. The pattern repeated three times. Very frustrating. We will never use them- quite pathetic and unreliable.

Mark did a great job. He was responsive and courteous and the work was high quality. Cost was reasonable for services provided. We would use them again and recommend them to others.

It went really well. He fixed the doors on the dining room built-in, also fixed the down spout on the side of the house.
