We had an amazing storm on the day of our move and the next day. Due to the storm, they told us they had to keep our stuff overnight. It turned into two nights. I got extra insurance and called to see if I could cancel it. I didn't cancel it, I was just inquiring. When they were done moving the things out of the house, they gave my brother a paper that said they were done working and had him sign it. They also had him initial that we had cancelled the insurance which I had not agreed to. They should have never had my brother sign or initial anything as I was the contact person. I had $125,000 of insurance for $700...on a stormy day, why would I possibly have it cancelled? They said because my brother initialed it, it was cancelled. Again, I was the only person to have contact with the company. They broke 75% of our things. When they moved our things into the house they tried to get a fridge into the kitchen and did not know how to take the freezer door off. They just pushed it through and damaged the gorgeous woodwork which had just been painted. They actually never got it through in the end. It's still sitting in our living room until my brother can put it in the kitchen. I noticed the dents and scrapes on the front of it when they brought it into the house. I was told they had a very hard time getting it out of the house. They lost two big plastic totes of my brother's clothes. Just gone. When the sales man, Brad Jobert, came and sold us the job, he said that they only had professional movers. What a lie that was. They had kids that didn't know what they were doing. We have an old roll top desk, more than an antique. This kid took it apart in three minutes and obviously did not know what he was doing. That is the kind of care they had with everything. And then, because my brother initialed this thing to cancel the insurance, we had no insurance. We told them to be careful, these things are very, very old. The real delicate things, the very ornate things we had in our car and a few friends trucks. They also cracked an organ along with many other things. They chipped my mothers bureau all along the bottom and you can see all the damage is brand new to everything. They put a bookcase in upside down. They lost all the bolts and the things that kept furniture together. I had used a moving company before 20 years ago and I couldn't say enough nice things about them but I discovered they were out of business. I called Allied Van Lines and they recommended these people. They picked up our belongings on December 26th and made the delivery on January 2nd. I received a call after I was already at the house and they said that one of the trucks had a cracked something and wouldn't be able to deliver that but the other truck was coming. A half hour later, the other truck lost power and wouldn't be coming either. I got in my car and headed home. On my way back I received a call saying "I have been out in the freezing cold but I finally got the truck running." They came and delivered and then said they were going to take the stuff from the broken truck, put it on their truck and deliver it. Where that truck was located was easily a half hour away later and said they would be at the house at 5:30. They called at 5 and said they were getting off route 3 and were 2 minutes to the house. There is no way they could have gotten to our house by 5pm if they had an ounce of care for our things. The guy who sort of knew what he was doing was teaching the other guys what to do. They banged up a lot of our possessions. Most of the damage occured when taking it out of the house. Some from putting it in the new house. The guy that was telling the other two what to do had some experience but was not a professional mover. There were 5 or 6 guys altogether that moved our things out. There were only 3 that moved our things in. They just didn't give a crap about anything. I called them to let them know they damaged 75% of our stuff and we were missing things as well. I let them know that they could come see the damage for themselves. When I tell people to stay clear of this company, I CAN NOT STRESS that strongly enough.
Description of Work: They were moving my parent's home to the new home my brother and I just purchased.
