Since I hadn't heard back from Chris, I called and left a voice mail. I received no response. The next day I sent him an e-mail. No response. A couple of days later I once again e-mailed Chris Parker, the salesman as well as Greg Reynolds, the owner, and Dria, the office manager. No response from any of the three. A couple of days later I left voice mails for Greg Reynolds, Chris Parker, and Dria at more than one number. No one answers any of their phones. All I get is a pre-recorded message promising to get back to the customer, but no one has replied to my phone calls or e-mails in over two weeks. They have my money, and I have no awning. I am a repeat customer with this company only because I bought my first awning from them back in May, and I want the second one to match. They are the only company in MA which sells this brand, American Awning. The worst part is that they did exactly the same thing between May and June. My phone calls and e-mails were ignored until one day, by chance, I got an answering service and I complained. Greg and Chris later claimed that they hadn't received any messages. So now, too late, I know this is just typical for them. But I don't feel like waiting indefinitely this time around.
Description of Work: On September 2 the salesman, Chris Parker, came by my home to give me the price for an awning for my back porch. He collected a check for a 50% deposit : $1377.50 and told me the work should be completed by early October. He promised he would call me personally.

I ordered two awnings on June 15, 2013. Was told I would hear back to schedule appointment but never did. I tried reaching salesman and the office itself but only received voicemail. I left several voicemails. at one point I indicated if I did not hear back by next day I would contact massachusetts attorney general office. Never heard back next day so I contacted AG and also the manufacturer of the awning, Eclipse. The next day I get a call from the salesman to set up a time. Since the date he offered did not work he said he would check with the owner and get back to me the same day. Never called back. I worked with the manufacturer as they tried in vain to get their dealer to do anything about this. I told the manufacturer that I now just wanted my money back from American awning. Subsequently I receive a call from the owner of American awning Greg Reynolds. He tells me about his woes, the weather, space storage issues, etc. I tell him I just want my money back. He agrees to get me a check for my $3425.00 the next day. I followed up with a text to mr. Reynolds the next day confirming that he was refunding me and he responded that he was. That was weeks ago and still no check. The manufacturer ended up installing the awnings for me and I paid them, however mr. Reynolds has yet to send me my refund check for the service his company did not perform. i am still working with the massachusetts AG office and they assigned the case to a mediator who says they reached out to the company but had not received a response. I also sent mr. Reynolds a 93A demand letter for unfair and deceptive acts under massachusetts law. There has been no response. All I want is my $3425.00 deposit back since American awning never provided any service and mr. Reynolds previously agreed verbally and in writing weeks ago to send me my money. Just please give me my money back.
