Smart Landscaping

We have been regular customers for several years. This year they backed out of a signed contract on the day the work was to be completed. They never notified us that they were not going to be able to complete the work. Not reliable and very unprofessional.

Working with a landscape designer I reviewed three local companies that could do the work. One came highly recommended but also came in very expensive. The second came in equally expensive, but I did not have as qualified of a recommendation. Smart was a less well known company but they had worked on a neighbor's property. They were very responsive upfront and scheduled a time quickly to review the project. They came back quickly with an estimate, very clearly detailed. Wagner was impressive and easy to like. Their estimate came in considerably lower the the other two companies so it was a question of whether the take a chance on a less well known contractor. We contacted them again, just to get some final estimates and discuss the project again. We went with them and they scheduled the exact week that they would do the work, about 5 weeks later. That fit our timing perfectly. Another advantage was that they estimated a quick five day job, while the others wanted about 3 weeks. My designer knew that the job was not a three week job. We figured that the others were planning to work on multiple jobs simultaneously, which is something that may be normal in the business. In short, these guys showed up on the day and did the work in a week, and stayed exactly on budget. They worked well with the designer on plant placement. I would hire them again, and likely will, without hesitation. The two partners, Wagner and Leo, were easy to work with, as was Marina in the office.

On time, courteous, professional. Highly recommend. Will definitely use again in the future.
