The move with ABC went smoothly, from estimate to pick up and move in. The estimate was accurate and lower than two other estimates. When I made changes to inventory and services, the charges were updated quickly. The movers did a good job of moving our things. Move out day took ten hours. I would've preferred a bigger crew, four people instead of three, but it was during a busy time. Move in went smoothly. Overall, it was a great experience, from sales to the move. The cost came in $500 under estimate.
Description of Work: ABC gave us an estimate and moved and packed (a few large, high value items) our things from MA to CT.

The estimator, David Foote, provided a very accurate estimate for the packing, storing, and moving, but our experience went downhill after the first interaction. The movers arrived at the wrong time on the move-out day, even though we informed them twice of the time window we were assigned by the property managers. It was the last weekend in June, so there were many other people moving in and out that day and the movers had to sit around in our apartment until our designated time. No one from Allied / ABC called during the move-out day. The packers failed to pack the Kitchen-Aid in the original packing materials (which I provided and asked them to use). Instead, they shoved it in a huge box with many other items. It arrived at our final destination dented and cannot be repaired. The packers and the movers failed to bring the TV crate we ordered. The movers wrapped the 46-inch flatscreen television in a blanket and promised us that they would put it in the crate when they arrived at the warehouse. Upon delivery, at first the television was lost --it was never inventoried. The driver eventually found it among another customer's items in the truck. The television was still wrapped in a blanket and not surprisingly, it was broken. David Foote and Rhonda Trombaugh of ABC - an agent of Allied - failed to inform us of our delivery date. The week before our requested delivery, we emailed them frequently to get an update, but they never responded (except to say they would get back to us). Our estimated window for delivery was between August 15 - 19. On August 15, Allied Headquarters called to inform us that our goods would be delivered a week late (August 22 - 25). This was a gross inconvenience and we were very upset. We reached out to David and Rhonda of ABC and they did nothing. I called Allied headquarters repeatedly during the following week for updates on when our materials would arrive. I learned from headquarters that ABC knew on August 8 that our shipment would not arrive on time, yet they never informed us (despite our numerous requests for an update). On August 25, I called headquarters for an update on our delivery and they told us the driver's truck broke down and they weren't sure about delivery. Again, we received no communication from ABC. The delivery was made on August 29, 10 days late. ABC never called to find out if the materials arrived or how the move went. Upon delivery, in addition to the broken TV and dented Kitchen-Aid, we discovered numerous missing and broken items: a speaker, vase, kitchen cart, mirrors, porcelain bowls. Many of the items we designated as and quot;high valueand quot; were poorly packed and/or not inventoried. It took us two days to find our computer because it was not inventoried and it was packed in an unmarked box. Overall, the move was sloppy and showed a complete disregard for our time and our valuables. Total damage estimated at more than $2500. ABC, specifically Rhonda Trombaugh, finally reached out to us...for final payment! No apology, no acknowledgment of the hassle and stress she and her team caused - just a demand for cash. To the credit of Allied headquarters (NOT ABC), we were paid promptly for our damage claims and for the delay.

Everything went very well. They did a great job. It was raining when they got here but didn't seem to bother them. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and they were very professional as well.
Description of Work: I hired them to pick up all my belonging in MA and move it to my new location in FL.

The estimator came quickly. He informed me twice that there could be no deposit because of state law. When I received the contract there was a deposit included. It took several calls to get this removed. The office person I spoke with was not helpful. The movers arrived on time, were very careful and loaded my furniture quickly. The furniture stayed in storage for 6 months. When I contacted the company to bring it to our new home, I knew they would give me a two week window for delivery. A new person was working in the office and she was very responsive, calling me to inform me of delivery dates. The furniture came earlier than expected, which was great. The delivery movers were friendly and efficient. The new office person even called the next day to check on our satisfaction.
Description of Work: Furniture and boxes were moved from a three story home to storage in Massachusetts, then six months later the items were moved to Florida.

They were on time, and they cleaned up after themselves. They were careful with my belongings. When they give you an estimate they give you a not-to-exceed price; I was shocked because they actually refunded me a couple hundred dollars because it was lighter than they'd estimated which I thought was impressive. They were hard workers and they were very careful with my house. They showed up in North Carolina when they said they would. I would definitely use them in the future.
Description of Work: They moved me from Massachusetts to North Carolina.
