Great experience with Bob and his team. After several years of neglect, I contacted Millennium Landscape to come give me a quote to bring life back to my yard so I could enjoy it again. Bob came over the next day and we walked through the yard together. Shortly after signing a contract Bob and his team began the work. His crew was very professional and did a fantastic job. Bob was very hands on and came by several times to see how the work was coming along. We have since hired Bob again to complete other projects for me. I would highly recommend Millennium Landscape as a company to do business with.

While Millenium initially came out and did good work, they do not stand behind their projects or keep their word once they have your full payment. Two bushes did not live past two months despite 30 other bushes doing well with our constant and significant watering. They agreed at the time to replace the two bushes, but then delayed it all the way to the next YEAR. Here we are one year later and they ignore calls, emails and make empty promises that they are coming “this week” and never do. Stay away.

Like others, I have had a similar issue with the front office. I had used Millennium in the past, and the quality of their work at that time was very good. Getting an estimate took a couple of weeks, but that wasn't too much of a problem. However, I had asked for an estimate for a couple of additional services that weren't included in the contract they sent over. I called to ask about that, and like others have reported, I have never (that's NEVER) had them actually answer the phone; just leave a message and wait for a call back. I have rarely received a call back. My expectation for a business is that they will call back the next business day, but for this firm you might expect to wait a week. I did. Finally, after calling every day for a week, I received a call back on a Friday evening, but the call was interrupted and they said they would call back in about 10 minutes and never did. After a month of this, the season is long past and I'm forced to move on.

It didn't go.
Description of Work: Last September Millennium Landscaping installed a few foundation plantings at the front of my house. They did a reasonable job. I called them again this May to take a look at some minor damage to one of the plants. It took about 2 weeks for Bob to come over. At that time I told Bob that I was interested in some other foundation plantings as my arborvitaes had been damaged and needed to be replaced. Bob also suggested that the mugho pines be replaced as well. I thought Bob was very knowledgeable and had good ideas regarding the type of plants that would fit into my landscape. That’s why I wanted to use his services again. He told me he’d e-mail me some pictures of recommended plants. I also told Bob that I had some carpentry work that needed to be addressed. He said he would mention it to his guys and that they would be in touch. I never got the pictures and I never heard from his guys. About a month ago I finally received a voicemail message from the Office Manager, Joanne, stating that they weren’t ignoring me, but they’ve been very busy, and the weather would have been too warm for planting anyway. So I patiently waited. Well, we are now two weeks into September and I’ve left numerous messages, via e-mail and voicemail, again with no response. Their voicemail message starts out stating “on another line or out of the office" and ends with something like “we do return all residential estimate requests after 5:30”. Five-thirty has come and gone every day, and still no call. What is the customer suppose to think? Why would you want to put off potential business?

Working with Millenium again was a terrible decision for this project. We had previously worked with Millennium a number of years back--they had provided lawn service, and had also installed pavers in our driveway and built a stone wall in our front yard. While the quality was good, there was a constant need to 'chase them' to show up. We failed to get multiple bids for this project, and when Millenium proposed pricing to handle all 6 components of the job at what we thought was a very fair price, we selected them. But we had reservations given this project was more substantial financially than others in the past. This project went poorly from Day 1. After providing very little details on any aspect of how they would handle the job, we signed the contract hoping the communication would improve. They cashed our $7,000 check (40% of the job) on 4/17/13, and didn't show up until late August--to repeat, nobody came onsite for 4+ months. We have recorded voice mails blaming 'the rain' or 'broken down trucks', but always promising to be there 'the week after next.' When we originally signed the contract, we told them we wanted all the work done by July 4th. They said the 'would bump' someone else and move us up the priority list. This should have been our first warning. Here are some other lowlights: 1) Their tree removal subcontractor (which they didn't tell us about) chased us for money by home phone/cell phone/text because they weren't paid by Millenium (when we had paid in full). Their subcontractor cut down a neighbor's tree by accident and claims they have a text from Millennium approving this. We were caught in the middle and had no ability to control the situation as they showed up unannounced 4.5 months into the the project. It has strained relations with our neighbors. They planted 5 small bushes in place of a 25 foot arborvitae--not adequate compensation for a big error. 2) The Retaining wall in the backyard cut 1-6' off our property line. I would not have had this work done had I known this in advance. They were very matter of fact about this. 3) The sod was installed mid-November--approximately 1 week before our sprinklers were to be turned off. There is no guarantee on the sod 4) Millenium promised to come back and cut the grass--this was very important they told us. They never showed back up 5) After agreeing (verbally and in writing on 10/24 and 12/4) to include a fall cleanup in exchange for all the problems, they ignored every call after we had already paid them in full. I have to pay another landscaper to remove the leaves. They wrote this week to say this was for a 'spring cleanup'--despite emails we have explicitly stating the 'fall cleanup' When they finished the job in mid November and I told them I'd pay them the next day (I did) after seeing the work in the daylight, the owner immediately 'invoked the terms of the contract.' I believe they take jobs, use the down payment to make payroll, finish late jobs and/or pay off vendors. It's a shame as they used to do good work.

[removed member name] was voted WORST CUSTOMER of 2013. Yes we do take deposits and we try our best to get to every job in early season. Unfortunately many large jobs end up getting extened and customers add work on creating us to move set dates and weather creates issues as we all know. At no time did [removed member name] ask for his deposit back which I would have gladly given to him. We had done work for him a few other times not only because our pricing is lower because we give QUALITY work as he knows. Unfortunately we had to bring in Canton Tree Company to remove a huge tree that was in the way of installation of his wall. [removed member name] was on the traveling most of the entire time this job was taking place so we did not tell him we told his wife who was a really nice customer. We had to sub contract the tree due to the size of it and we wanted an expert. Unfortunately the tree became an issue and the tree company ended up damaging the neighbors trees. This was not our fault and we did not pay Canton Tree because we had to replace shrubs that looked much better than the mess that was currently in the back of this yard all wild trees, and vines and such. We did finally paid Canton Tree after we hired a lawyer and need this all documented for the neighbors sake not the [removed member name] it was not his land. Anytime a wall or fence is installed you do not put it on the property line because if there is a problem down the road you would have to remove it that is why we back off the property a few feet. Not sure why he is saying 6' ? Yes we also stated we would cut his sod one time and when we went to cut his sod it had not rooted so we did not cut it. I had to demand our final payment which clearly reads on our contract payment is due in full on the day of completion but he insisted he was flying out and could not pay which made no sense. I finally contacted his wife for payment because as all small business we have bills that we must pay after a job is completed. Working with [removed member name] was a terrible mistake on our part a truly bad customer but his yard looks fabulous! How dare he say he is not happy and the quality is good no the quality is perfect. As I stated we did have a tree issue and in the 15 years of our business unfortunately things can happen such as this and we deal the best we can with issues from sub contractors. I want you to be the judge of our quality of work go and see his property in the backyard in Needham and you decide. We do not deserve his poor rating ! I feel maybe he may have taken on this big job at his house at our great price but financially maybe bad timing on his financial part is how he came across to me. You be the judge of our work we do hundreds of jobs with few complaints and I am sorry this tree situation created such problems. I also always return calls maybe not in the same day but we do call everyone back! This is my side of the story. Thank you.

difficult to reach by telephone or email - never answer the phone, have to leave a message. some emails eventually get a response contract stipulates that all payments are made on the completion day. this is strictly enforced. got a call at 8:30 pm on the same day as job was completed asking for payment to be made for pick up at 8:00 am next day during the project asked to considerably expand the scope of the project. this would have added $10k to a $12k job good quality of masonry work including walkway and steps however, did not complete the repairs to the front of the house. explicit promises were made that this would finished after final payment was received. left front of the house exposed to elements and would not respond to calls or emails

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Dont waste your time.
Description of Work: I contacted this company to obtain a quote for a patio installation. I made an appintment for a weeknight and I made sure to leave early to make it home (I work quite far away from where I live), got a call 5 minutes before scheduled estimate was to take place that the appointment needed to be rescheduled. I rescheduled for the same time the next night, and again left work early to make it home on time. This time no one called and no one ever showed up!!! I called and left message a message at the office and never heard back.

I had a good experience. I didn't use them but they were good at returning phone calls and acting in a professional manner. I thought the estimate was reasonable. They were timely. The estimate was very clear and well laid out. The person who came out said when we would get it and it came through on time. There is nothing negative to say and nothing they could improve on, they did a great job.

I am sorry about this customers disappointment but as he stated it was late in the season and we told him it was too late for us to put the lawn in and if we had received the contract early/mid spring we have done it for him. He does not meantion his backyard with the pleasure of enjoying the raised patio in front of his basketball court and all the other paver work and shrub installations we had done for him over the years.

We hired Millennium after hearing great things about them from our neighbor. Owner Bob Savill came to our house personally and met with us. He listened to our concerns and answered our questions very well. He gave us plenty of detail and options, we could tell that he knew his stuff! He sent a complete estimate to us several days later. The estimate was fair, and we decided to hire them to do the work. Although it took a few days of back-and-forth calling to actually schedule the work date, when Bob's crew came, they worked very hard and finished the work in 2 days. The walkway is beautiful! We are very pleased and would absolutely use Millennium again.

Went fairly well at the outset. They had very competitive pricing and good salesman. Happy with the price, but their responsiveness is an issue. Ran out of sod and had to wait 2 days to get the rest. Had to call several times with requests. The yard looks great and price was very good, However service is a weakness for this company.
