AJ Rose Carpets & Flooring

Due to unavailability of a mutually agreed upon date to clean the carpets prior to the expiration of the coupon (good for 6 months after purchase), the scheduler did extend the expiration date. The appointment was made for 6/13 and I had to reschedule it for the next day, 6/14. This was done with the female (don't recall her name but very polite) in the office. Wires got crossed however, when a man who described himself has the manager left a voice mail on the day of 6/12 to "confirm the 6/13 appointment". I called back, spoke to this "manager" and told him I'd rescheduled the 6/13 appointment the previous week. He said he had no record of this change, couldn't do the job on 6/14 and we then rescheduled the carpet cleaning for 6/22 "sometime between 2 and 4p.m." I did receive a reminder call on 6/21 for the next day's appointment. As it got closer to 4p.m. on 6/22, I called AJ Rose Carpet Cleaning to make sure that there had not been another "mix up" in the scheduling. I was told that the crew would be there. When they did arrive shortly after 4 p.m., they seemed rushed and I asked the man who seemed to be in charge (I believe his name was Pete) if this was the last job of the day. He told me that it was. The carpeting did not have any stains that needed to be treated. They just needed to be cleaned as a part of regular annual upkeep. The carpet in the living room (a room that is probably used 6 times yearly) is taupe and never shows dirt. It did look "freshened up" after the cleaning. The stairs and small upstairs hall have a wheat and brown patterned berber carpet. It looked clean when the job was completed less than 45 minutes after their arrival. The shock arrived late that night when I walked upstairs with white socks on and saw that the sock bottoms were filthy. The next day, I put on another pair of clean white socks and again they were almost black after walking through the living room, up the stairs and around the hall. While the living room carpet still looked freshened up, the "pre carpet cleaning" dirt on the stairs and hall had reappeared. In retrospect, I wish that I had called the company back to discuss the poor results. At the time though, I was too exasperated at that point after the scheduling issues and a feeling that perhaps it was a "rush job" having been the last one of the day. I do not recommend AJ Rose Carpet Cleaning and would never use them again--even if they offered to repeat the job.

Overall, the man was professional, but a bit too quick.

We used a big deal to with AJ Rose to get significant savings on bedroom carpet installation. Overall it was a great experience though there was some confusion with the Big Deal. Apparently we were supposed to notify them in advance that we had it but we only gave it to them for final payment. After some hemming and hawing they did accept the coupon and reiterated what a great deal we got. The overall service and final product was great. Since we were moving into a new house it was important everything was done on time and they had no problem getting everything installed in the time frame discussed. The initial estimate was quite high but that was due to including a walk in closet. Once we opted not to re-carpet the closet the quote was right inline with what with expectations. A year later the carpet is still in brand new condition and of excellent quality. We couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Excellent. They came over, very professionally, and did a wonderful job of cleaning a basement carpet. Looked like brand new. Also, got a great follow up call to find out if we were satisfied with the work. We are very happy.

The two man crew did an excellent job. They were delayed from a previous job, but called me a couple of times to let me know the new timeframe in which to expect them. Unfortunately, I had already left work early to meet them at the unit. Still, they were very professional, and I am pleased with the results. They got rid of a couple of stains, and the pet dander is gone. I have used AJ Rose twice in the past year and would use them again.

Ordering at the store was fine, contacted us when carpet arrived. Scheduled a date fairly quickly and the installers called the day before with a time window. Installation went quickly and they cleaned up well. No problems seen since.

For us, AJ Rose was a complete waste of our time and money.

They did an outstanding job - the technicians came a bit late both times, but they did an incredibly thorough job of scrubbing out all the deeply ingrained toddler stains in our carpets. Our carpets looked new at the end of each cleaning session. We will definitely use them again for carpet cleaning.

AJ Rose managed to fit me in despite it being so close to Christmas. Mark and Stefan arrived promptly and quickly took care of everything. Mark seemed extremely knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the process, and they both did an excellent job. They were able to remove stains that I hadn't thought possible, leaving the carpet looking nearly new. and fresh They were courteous and even took special car with the indoor cats. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

It went swimmingly. They came just before Thanksgiving weekend. I set up the appointment, but my husband let them in while I was at work. He asked if they could also do some upholstery cleaning. Even though they were not originally assigned to do so, they did clean our sofa set right there after finishing the carpets. We knew it may cost some more since we already prepaid with one of Angie's List Deals in the summer for just the carpets. My husband paid them right away and we were very pleased with the results. Even the worst stains (that were there for quite awhile) came out!

Over the years we've had carpet installed by 3 different companies and AJ Rose is far the best. The salesman made and explained the measurements. The installation crew called a stated their window of arrival.They arrived at the top of the window, went to work and removed all waste when the job was completed. I would do business with AJ Rose again.

I needed the carpets in a rental condo cleaned. I called at the beginning of September, thinking that AJ Rose would be booked pretty far out due to the turnover in rentals at this time of the year, but I was able to get an appointment right away. The crew that came was on time, courteous and professional. They did a very good job overall and went over a few places that I asked them to redo. The carpet right by the baseboard, especially in the corners, did not come out clean, but given the vast improvement in the cleanliness of the carpet -- and the fact that this was a rental and the carpeting would probably get soiled quickly again (yep, sure did!) -- I let it go. Also, the deal had a limit of 750 square feet of carpet that could be cleaned. I calculated the carpeting at 747 square feet, and they took my word for it, no questions asked, which I appreciated. I will definitely use AJ Rose for carpet cleaning again.

I had new carpet installed in my 900 sq condo. I went in to select the carpet and get pricing the Sat after Thanksgiving, they came to measure 2 days later and the carpet was installed the following week. I appreciated how quickly the process moved along. I have alot of furniture and not much non-carpeted space to put it - the installers moved everything between my rooms as they installed the carpet and they took their time to put everything back in its place. The carpet was installed in about 6 hours. I would definitely use AJ Rose again. I'm very happy with my new carpet.

AJ Rose cleaned the carpets (3 rooms for $99) in a living room, and two bedrooms in a 735 sq foot apartment. They were prompt, polite, and the carpets look great. I would hire them again.

The experience was fine. The carpet went in quickly without a problem. I had the "big deal" so I saved some money but it was more expensive than I expected it to be. The person with whom I worked was a pretty typical salesperson. Exceedingly nice when selling but once my deposit was in, there was less of an effort to find ways to save money. The price came in higher than predicted but it wasn't outrageous.

The company sent a person to size my place in order to get an estimate. He arrived on time, was quick and professional, and gave me a quick overview of the preparation I would need to do to get the place ready. I went to the store and with some assistance picked 2 types of carpets, got an estimate, and the next day placed my order. The company called me to schedule an appointment for installation, which was 11/12, around 9 AM. They arrived on time worked quickly, carefully and professionally. The place was done by 4:30, and to date I have no reason to be disappointed. The quality of the product and the work was top-shelf. The installers and the fellow that did the measuring for the estimate were polite, professional and efficient, as was the salesman with whom I dealt. I did not get a second estimate, so I have no other price point against which I can compare AJ Rose's. The entire cost was about $8700, to cover 1035 sq. ft. which is about $8.40/sq ft. I purchased the highest quality carpet and pad in the styles I chose, so this price may be about right. If so, I'd upgrade my price rating to an "A". I wouldn't hesitate to recommend AJ Rose, and although I don't expect to have to use their services again, should I need carpeting, I'd certainly call on them.

Mark removed every stain and was even on his hands and knees cleaning one little spot to make sure it was perfect. He was a nice guy and I'd recommend them to anyone.

Exactly as described in the company website. I could of had additional work done for an extra price but this was explained in full. I wouls definitely have this comapny again.

They did a great job. The process is very efficient. I've rented those super-market cleaners for years, which do nothing. After AJ was there, my carpets were cleaner than ever - I was amazed. The two serviceman that came were great, professional and nicely pleasant.

The service men who did the cleaning were a little strange and absent minded. By the end of the cleaning process to older of the two gentlemen was visibly shaking and discombobulated. We tried to discuss the extra charges including a phone call to home base. By the time I got the charge on my creditcard, it wasn't what we had discussed. It took several phone calls to the company before it was all worked out. Did they do anything wrong? Not really but lots of confusion ensued ( I am sure part of that was my fault). Would I use them again? Probably not as there are many other companies to choose from.

I had scheduled a window of time for the cleaners to arrive. They did not arrive in the alloted time so I called the contact person. He told me they were running late and gave me another estimated time. Again, this time passed, so I called again. The contact person told me they would arrive in about 45 minutes at that point because they were finishing a job in Cambridge while I live in Marlborough. Needless to say, I was upset that I had wasted several hours waiting and would have to continue to wait if I wanted the service performed that day. Once the cleaners arrived, they were very apologetic. They did a thorough job cleaning. Unfortunately the carpets where damp for quite some time after they left so I needed to use my dehumidifier. ***Although I already had a coupon from Angie's list for the service, the cleaner gave me another discount to accommodate me for my inconvenience. This was much appreciated as I have had experiences with other service companies when I have been inconvenienced without any compensation for my time. I would give the company another opportunity if another coupon becomes available. The person scheduling needs to be more realistic about timing and grouping jobs geographically. There was no way based on the number of jobs the cleaners had and where they were located that they could have made it to my house in the allotted time period.

Great experience. They were very helpful. The sales staff were very knowledgeable and spent a great deal of time explaining the pros and cons of each type of flooring. They really helped us make an informed decision with that we are still very happy with a year later.
