I had tried, without success, to contact another company, and after the third try, called Papalia. They said they could get someone there the same day, which was wonderful and quite unexpected. I got a call from the dispatcher about 30 minutes prior to the appointment, and the plumber was right on time. Despite the age of the house, he was able to remove the valves without trouble, and remove the drain. I was quite pleased and would use them again in a heartbeat.

The company was punctual, the representative was courteous took time to explain everything and finished the job to our satisfaction. There was no mess and we had fully functional new toilets in a matter of hours.

The men that came out were very clean and did an excellent job of respecting the work area they used. The job was done perfectly and I have only used them from that day forth to fix any plumbing necessities. I don t mind recommending them to anyone.

They were neat and careful in the replacement of the mixing faucet and they also came when they said they would. I think their prices are a little on the higher end, but they do excellent work. One thing I really liked was that they carefully explained the way they arrived at the final price.

When I got home to find that the job was taken care pretty quickly, I was very excited until I saw the invoice which stated that the cost was approximately $241. To say the least I was shocked as the repair was for a leaky faucet connection that I did not have the proper tools to fix. I called the office immediately to complain about the overcharge and was told that the charge comes directly from a list of service charges. When I continued to complain about this practice, the woman I spoke with said she would pass along my comments to Jim (the owner) who was on vacation. The next week, I got a call from Jim who explained that I was charged incorrectly and that he was issuing a credit for the balance. I was glad to see that Jim handled this matter very quickly and efficiently. I will likely use Papalia again.

Excellent. It took 20 minutes to identify and the technician offered the choice of buying the parts through Papalia or doing it myself. Papalia was fast and competent.

I called them in the morning and they appeared within two hours. They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up when they were done. I was very satisfied.

We needed this taken care of immediately as it is for tenants' unit. Called several companies but Papalia was only one that could take care of it immediately (a Saturday night). They showed up when they said they would, gave a price estimate before starting work. One minor surprise, the tank that was replaced was apparently not installed up to code, so we needed a new gas cock installed, extra $275 above initial estimate). Downsides are a steeper after-hours/weekend fee ($180) than other places quoted me. But the work done was excellent, the technician was clear and concise and explained everything (and just generally a nice guy), and I got what I needed when I wanted it.

They wanted $50 just to come out and give an estimate, whereas the other companies I called were able to give either a ballpark or an exact price on the job after asking a few questions. I didn't feel it was worth $50 just to get an estimate.

Went very well. Plumbers installed very professional looking and performing tubing. I had a slow draining sink problem after the installation, they came right out to remedy the problem at no charge, and it wasn't related to the work they had originally performed.

We called late morning and were given a 5 hour window that same afternoon. Repairman arrived well within the window. Friendly and capable, he was in and out in half an hour and did a fine job.

Ray took a lot of time explaining to me my options with the disposal, eventually replacing the disposal with one from his truck instead of the one I had purchased on my own. This was cheaper for me. He did the work quickly and efficiently once we decided what to do. He then gave me a quote for the faucet installation, after recommending that I return the one I had bought and purchase another of higher quality. The quote was then honored three weeks later when he came back to do the install, and I was not charged for another visit/service call. Finally, I inquired about snaking drains that I thought were clogged, he looked at them and showed me that they were in fact clear, thus saving me more money. Making the appointments was easy and the technician was always on time (no four hour window situation; I was told he'd be there at 9 am and he was). I used an Angie's List coupon with no problems. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who needed any plumbing work done.

Very well. The man who came was professional and friendly. He provided a detailed written estimate. When we called to have it done, the work was completed in a timely manner by the same plumber who gave the estimate and within the estimated amount. Wasn't cheap, but provided high quality and professional work.

Very quick response to my call, they were out within 1 1/2 hours of my call! Technician Paul was very courteous and explained the problem and gave me a price right away. The work was done on the spot and the toilet is now working again without the leak!

I paid an extra $250 more than I should have paid. They didn't know what they were doing and I wouldn't recommend them to others.

The work was pretty good, but it cost way too much. I got charged $200 for a half an hour's worth of work (down from the $400 they charge because a lot of the work did not need to get done).

Everything went very smoothly. It was easy to schedule an appointment and the plumber arrived right at the start of the one-hour window I was given. He took a look at the job and told me the cost before he started (all of their charges are standard and come from a pre-printed book). Later he also happily gave me estimates for hooking up a water line to a fridge and disconnecting a garbage disposal (about $300 for each). My only complaint is that when I asked about their Angie's List coupon he said he needed me to print out a physical coupon. Since we just moved into our house, our printer isn't yet hooked up. Even though I showed him the coupon on my computer screen, he still wouldn't honor it.

I had already tried a plunger and got gunk backed up into my dishwasher so I knew I had a problem. My call was answered promptly and the scheduler determined that a plumber was appropriate (not a drain cleaner) I called later asking them to come earlier if possible. Papalia called to say the plumber was on his way and estimated the time it would take for him to get there. He arrived promptly evaluated the problem- gave me an estimate and did the work in quick time. Sixty dollars of the fee was for a 2 lb. tub of bio clean which will help prevent future problems. I cannot use harsh drain cleaners because we have a septic system. Brad also explained their service agreement. Everything was neat as a pin when the job finished. Overall a good experience.

The work was very well done. Jim cleaned up after himself and did a great job explaining his work. He also made sure that hot water was available after he finished the work. A very pleasant and wonderful experience.

Plumber was only 20 minutes late - they had given us a 1 hour window. He did a good job and left everything clean. The only problem was Papalia's policy on estimates. They won't give any type of estimate over the phone, even a ballpark estimate. The receptionist explained that there was no way to predict how much the job would cost since each situation is different. They charge a fee (I think it was $35 or something) to come over and look at the dryer, and then waive the fee if you decide to do the job. When the plumber came and told us the price, I was unprepared for it to be so high - $270 - so I asked why it was so high, and he said it was just a price out of the book, that the price for installing dryers was standard. This was very annoying since I had been told there was no way to estimate the cost until they saw the dryer!!! However, I later found that $270 is not unreasonable for the job. It just would have been nice to know up front, and be able to compare with other companies.

The plumber was very courteous and timely. I felt confident that the job would be done in a timely manner. I am not sure I had the most competitive proposal but I went with them because I wanted to make sure the company would be there when I need them to be and I could rely on the to be on-time.

Great. Plumber was on time. The estimate showed the options for the work. The work was done efficiently, and works great. The area was cleaned up before the plumber left. He was courteous and knowledgeable.

Tad was terrific. Pump part was just stuck and he resolved problem, so quickly he didn't charge total dispatch fee. He also gave instructions on how to clean my water heater and told me things to watch out for in my new house.

I called Papalia and was given an appointment for the next day. They said they would arrive between 11-3 which is a long time to wait but they said they could call me on my cell phone and give me 15-20 minutes notice therefore customers are allowed a little flexibility. The gentlemen, very personable, arrived, worked quickly and resolved the issue in 10 minutes. He then told me it cost $139 for the trouble shooting fee. When I questioned him about the cost he immediately reduced it to $65, 1/2 hour. He then looked at my sink faucet and determined to fix it would cost $190 and it made more sense to buy a new faucet. I appreciated his honesty. I was happy with the service and would probably use them again but would ask more questions about their billing.
