Called because I had an estimate from another plumbing company that felt like they wanted to sell up and I felt the price was high. Called Papalia and had a wonderful experience with the person (Vicki) who answered the phone. We set up an appointment for a few days away. Scott came out, heard what my concerns were and assessed the water heater situation. In less time than the other plumber said was needed, Scott removed, replaced and cleaned up the area. The price was also less! I am more than pleased.

Very communicative and knowledgeable rep allowed us to discuss our entire system, incl. measuring our water pressure from town. Highly satisfied.

Setting up the appointment to have the humidifier installed was a breeze. Craig came out to do the work, and was extremely polite, professional, and took care not to dirty up our home while walking through with parts and whatnot. The installation looks very well done, and its functioning perfectly. Big improvement in indoor humidity level in just one day! Craig explained how it all worked, and cleaned up after himself. Couldn't be happier with the experience, will definitely call on them again when other HVAC or plumbing needs arise.

Explained everything that would be done. Thoroughly explained the price and work that would go onto a repair that we were concerned about. Absolutely no pressure and even explained what to do ourselves if we wanted to hold off! (And it did work!) Extremely cordial.

We had a small gas leak which NStar had located. Called Papalia to get an estimate, as we'd used them before, about 2 years ago. The technician was out the next day, very pleasant. But he could not easily proceed because of where the gas line was. He offered to cut open the cabinet himself, but recommended we have the builder do it. I appreciated the honest advice, and took it. When the cabinet was opened, I called, and they were out the very next day. The same nice person came out, and after I approved the estimate, he proceeded. Everything was done correctly, cleanly, quickly and professionally. I'd definitely use them again.

They were polite, and responsive to my call they just do not service my area.

Upon testing my boiler, there was moderately high CO in the exhaust (130?). I found a coupon online for Papallia that specified boiler tuneup and cleaning. They were able to schedule an appointment fairly quickly. They came and said to do the cleaning I needed would be more extensive then the coupon specified in the tuneup because it required taking the case off and brushing the fins. This did seem reasonable considering the tune-up included several other items. I felt the work was very expensive. Added to that, I asked about testing the CO. They said they could do that but they did not have the equipment with them and it would be an additional charge ($70?). They found some pipes that either appeared to be leaking or did leak near the heating system recently and quoted what seemed like a very expensive price for repair. With the coupon, the cleaning was about $200.

All great, as described above. My price* included an Angie's Big Deal. I wrote Bregarding price because I don't have a good point of reference, but I feel the price was fair-especially so with the Deal.

Papali arrived on-time and were courteous. They explained to me the price-stepped costing for the 2 plumbing jobs I had hired them for. Glad to have the Angie's List coupon - would've been very expensive otherwise. Everything would have been fine, except I was highly disappointed that they tried to get a 3rd plumbing item from me by telling me that a sink was draining slowly and needed to be unclogged, when in reality it was perfectly fine. I didn't fall for it and won't be calling on their services again because of that.

Everyone I dealt with at Papallia was very polite and very professional. They were great. The only negative (and it wasn't a big one) and the only reason I would not use them again is because I needed additional work performed. I called the office and asked about pricing to have annual service performed on the same two units that the technician had just worked on and couldn't get a price from the office. They said only technicians can give out prices. Fair enough. However, I found a company that was happy to give fees up front over the phone and then performed the work for those prices.

They were excellent. They provided a much better proposal. They were the only company that proposed putting in a second zone which was a very good recommendation. They came out and did what they said they would. It now works fine. I would definitely recommend them.

It went well, they showed up on time and were out of there in 30 minutes.

The work was done in very little time. The sinks ran well after.

I hired Papalia to do a boiler inspection prior to winter through the Angies List big deal. The technician came on time and was professional and explained to me what was to be done. He showed me where the sight glass was leaking and recommended that it be replaced and I was happy with the result.

I noticed water seeping from an old light fixture in the kitchen, called Papalia and they sent someone round within a couple of hours. The plumber located the leak and fixed the problem. Brad was very courteous, professional, was as careful as he could be to not create too much mess and cleared everything up after the job was completed. Overall, a very good experience and I would certainly use these guys again.

SIgned up for an inspection which I misread to think was a seasonal tune up. Would not have paid this much for someone to just look at the system. Their man showed up on time and was very professional, but suggested repairs that I did nto really need. I called and spoke to manager of this company, he was very responsive; he came out to see for himself; and agreed that the employee doing the inspection was perhaps overly cautious about his suggestions that there needed to be repairs to ensure our safety. In acknowledgment, he refunded me the cost of the inspection. I appreciated his professionalism and his refund.

We needed the kitchen faucet repaired. When it turned out that it was unrepairable, the plumber installed a new one that he had in his truck. Worked out fine.

The work that was performed was excellent and was done in about one hour.. However, I feel that the price was way too high. I used an Angie's list coupon that saved me $101 dollars, so the actual charge would have been $585 without the coupon. I understand that plumbers charge a markup on parts but $177 for a ball valve sillcock seems excessive.

After paying $99 for $200 worth of work, I was already invested in having this company do the repair. Previous estimates from 2 other plumbers, indicated the "it is a $300 job for which you will be charged $500", Not optimal, but acceptable, considering my "discount". Papalia's estimate was $1400, which included $900 just to attach the new sink to the new plumbing. (He later admitted that attaching the sink was the easiest part). In addition, he asked if I needed him to repair the drywall that he would rip into to access the pipes....as though it would instigate an additional charge. I authorized him to establish the pipe connections and that I would then hook up the sink myself (attach flexible tubing from the access spigots to the faucet pipes, "the easiest part of the job", and that for which he wanted to charge me $900) He created the plumbing "Y" , cleaned up his debris and left me with 3x2 ft of open wall, an unattached sink and $500 of my money. I should have been warned when I saw the diamond studs in his earlobes.

It was fine, although I found it rather expensive for about 2 to 2.5 hours of work. They also forgot to turn the boiler back on. I didn't realize it until I went to take a shower the next morning.

Deal was purchased as part of BigDeals provided by Angies list. The deal mentioned the following. Papalia Plumbing & Heating Inc, an "A" rated 3-time Super Service Award winning company on Angie's List, is offering a furnace/boiler clean & check for just $89! This coupon covers gas furnace and boilers, butexcludes oil-fired systems. These services are normally valued at $195, saving Angie's List members $106!This service covers clean and check of gas burners, check pilot assembly, thermocouple, burner flame (gas pressure adjustment), heat exchanger, flue venting, fan control, limit safety device & electrical wiring, blower speed, amp draw, belt (tension adjustment), lubricate all moving parts, change standard disposable filters, inspect thermostat & check heat anticipator setting, check for overall safe operation. This service is normally $195, saving Angie's List members $106! The above deal was purchased and I called Papalia to schedule an appointment. The company told me that the service is only for a heating inspection and not a service. Later I checked the deal again as provided by Angies list and then called them again to mention this. Papalia company later apologized saying that there was a miscommunication and that the deal purchased was indeed a maintenance service and went ahead to book the appointment. During the appointment I was not home but had a family member stay for the technician to arrive. As I had expected, they had provided only a furnace inspection and not a service. The final report mentions that the furnace was working in proper condition. There was no report of any kind of maintenance done on the furnace as provided by other furnance maintenance companies. I have purchased furnace deals in this price range from other companies in the past and they have provided the furnace maintenance service. Word of caution to other angies members: Confirm the service that you are getting before scheduling work including on the day of the actual work.

They arrived a little late due to traffic. Checked the furnace, answered some basic questions I had. Found no significant issues. I was really impressed that they put on booties over their shoes when they came upstairs from the basement to check the thermostat--nice touch! They offered a service contract for annual maintenance. They did not give me a hard time when I declined. Overall I'm very satisfied.

I had an Angie's list deal for them. When I called they scheduled for within the week and showed up punctually. The service person gave me a quote for the work and suggested an additional repair that was not absolutely needed but would be good to do. The price of the tuneup was a little higher than what I would have gotten from a heating contract contractor but the coverage period of when the heating contract would do maintenance work had passed. So I had him do both the service and replace the additional part. He also explained that another part could have needed replacing but didn't since his testing showed that it was still with the recommended spec. This was a $99 service that he could easily have told me I needed and I would probably have done it. Overall happy with the work and service.
