Everything went just as you would want a service call to go. It starts with a polite and friendly office staff who made the appointment and then called on the morning of the appointment to let me know that the plumber was on his way. Mike arrived precisely when expected, and like the office staff, was polite and friendly. Mike assessed the situation, determined the course of action and quoted a price, which I accepted, at which point Mike set to work. The work took about 30-45 minutes during which there seemed to be a lot of toilet flushing, and several stops to go out to the truck. It turned out that, on top of the bad wax ring, the toilet had not been flushing properly, wasting a lot of water. Mike corrected the problem by replacing the flapper, for no additional charge! I was very satisfied with the entire experience.

He came promptly, was thorough in checking to make sure there weren't any deeper problems with the plumbing. I like their professionalism of bringing booties onsite. He found the source of the problem - a wood chip that someone put down the toilet. He also found another "problem" which two other plumbers didn't find. The plumber who built the house 4 years ago apparently did something "mickey mouse" with the way the toilet was set. Also, a year ago, I had a drain clearing company come and they didn't mention any problem with the toilet setting. Bottom line is that I had to pay $170 for something which I don't fully understand. I'm sure he did something to improve the toilet...just wondering if it was necessary. I want to be clear about my warning: maybe they are no different than others in this business. They are the "by the book" type of plumbing service, where everything is clearly priced and laid out in a big official looking book. In that sense, no problem. The flip side is that you'll pay the maximum price for everything. There is nothing which not priced, so they'll never "throw it in." It's clear the guys they hire are not allowed to make such decisions. This is definitely an emergency-level plumbing service. Call them when you're in a huge rush. There are lots of places that gouge you when your toilet is flooding, etc. These guys won't do that, because every price is clearly listed. The problem is that their regular prices are higher than the other drain cleaning service I hired during an emergency. So, you won't get scammed by Papalia. But you will pay the full price. I was surprised because I wasn't in emergency mode. I have other bathrooms, and the flushing was slow, not clogged. The final bill was $450. That was one expensive wood chip in the toilet!!

When the agent arrived he was courteous and professional and got right to work. He performed all the work needed in approximately 1 1/2 hours. We were extremely disappointed about how expensive the job was. We had hoped that we finally found a business we could rely on to get our plumbing needs taken care of, unfortunately that didn't pan out for us. We felt the price was just way out of the ball park for the time spent and materials used. Work quality was wonderful. We don't mind paying a fair price but we feel the price was too much.

Showed up on time with courtesy call ahead to say he was coming. Quick to diagnose problem; worked quickly. Also made warranty repair on toilet installed 2 years ago. Well done.

He was honest, efficient, respectful, prompt, and friendly. I have no idea what the cost of this _should_ have been, and although it seemed expensive, the services were well worth the piece of mind of having it repaired within hours of the occurrence. I would HAPPILY recommend them to anyone in the future!

Papilia Plumbing and Heating arrived on time. Evaluated our central air conditioner. Reported that it was working well and only needed the filter changed. Informed us what it would cost to wrap our pipes. We approved the work and an appointment was made for his return. He returned as scheduled and finished the pipe insulation. He also recommended that we replace the exhaust on our clothes dryer. he quoted us a price and we plan to have Papalia do this work as well.

Fixed spigot outside and indoor toilet - also helped me solve a problem with my daughter's turtle tank filter. Nice guy - Very helpful!

Our sewer pipes were blocked; turns out kids had put a roll or two of toilet paper down the toilet in a couple of 'sessions'. A day or so later I noticed the sink 'gurgling' and a funny smell in the basement. Anyways, after my husband tried to use chemicals on the main line without success, he finally caved and I called the plumber on a Friday morning. The technician arrived later that same morning. He was able to quickly determine that it was the side sewer line, an addition with a bathroom, and not the main line. He completed the yucky work within a couple of hours. He was polite and kept the 'mess' clean as possible. He was also nice enough to run our washer to clear out the drain line because the sewer had backed up to the drain pipe of the washing machine, hence the smell in the basement! The only complaint is the high cost, but apparently that is the going rate here in MA.

They're knowledgeable. They charged me with something that was not supposed to be charged to. I'm not satisfied with their service and I would never use their service again.

They promptly answered my calls and were great about scheduling. I ended up cancelling the deal, as I found that I would not need the work at this time, which they confirmed. They helped me to clarify this and did the right thing. I would use them in the future if I have any plumbing needs, as I found them to be honest and professional.

The customer service rep was great, I set up an appointment and was given a 3 hour window. The customer service rep called before the technician arrived to give me a more specific time. The technician was very knowledgeable on HVAC systems. He repaired the leak in the kitchen and determined the reason my central air wasn't working was because it was wired improperly. He gave me 2 pricing options to fix the issue. I picked the more expensive one which included installing a programmable thermostat. I also signed up for the Blue Club Membership. I also used the $30 coupon from Angie's List for my service. My central air is working great now, and I would definitely recommend this company.

I was very pleased with Pappalia's service. They came on the same day that I called for service, arrived within the first hour of the 3-hour window provided for arrival, plumbers were courteous and efficient, cleaned up afterwards nicely, and got the job done - drain has been working perfectly since then. They didn't try to oversell, either - I had asked them to look at the bathtub drain as well, and they said it was draining adequately and didn't really need to be cleaned out at this time. I would definitely call them again.

Excellent thorough professional

They came on time as promised. He was very courteous. We had some stains on the ceilings caused by some leakage on second floor. He spent lot of time to identify the source of leakage in both bathroom. Even though he couldn't identify the exact cause - He did look at everywhere he could have without drilling a hole or tearing apart some wall. However they did fix other issues that we had - Noisy Toilet flush due to broken fill valve which they replaced it with the new one. They also replaced the faucet in lower level bathroom Faucet. At end of the repair work, they provided detailed description of work performed, itemized bill and also Warranty card which includes 4 years warranty on new Faucets.

This is the second time we've used Papalia, and both times they were extremely responsive, punctual, and professional. We've been very happy with the results. The only drawbacks are in terms of money: they are expensive, they use a fee-for-service pricing scheme instead of charging you for actual parts and labor, there is an additional charge for each visit that is "hidden" inside the fee-for-service fees (so that each service actually has two fees, a lower fee if you are having other services done and a higher fee if that is the only service), and they try to sell you on a membership plan that has an upfront fee in exchange for reduced per-service fees. If that exhausted you, you have a good sense what it's like to deal with their financial model. But if you don't mind that approach, and you stick to using their Big Deal discounts, every other aspect of their business is exceptional. We will continue to use them in the future, as long as they keep offering Big Deals to help offset their high prices.

It went well, it was efficient. In and out in under 45 min.

Plumber arrived on time and repaired the toilet. He had all the parts needed with him so the job was done quickly and very professionally.

Forced air furnace pre-winter maintenance: Service was on time and very efficient. Also reconnected a humidifier that was disconnected by prior poor service at no charge. Standby generator gas line install: They gave us a first visit late fall for an estimate but waived the estimate fee after we went with them for the service. They were very flexible in their schedule to work around weather issues, freezing grounds, etc. Quality so far seems to be excellent. We decided to buy the blue club membership to service two units (2 combo furnace+AC) annually due to their service quality. We'll update the review after upcoming service.

The work they did was fine. I thought I would have to replace a garbage disposal - they just reset it and I appreciated that they did not do unnecessary work on the disposal. I am not sure if my complaint is really with the company or with the Angie list deal.

The water heater failed suddenly, as they always seem to do. I contacted a few places, but Papalia was by far the quickest to respond and highly professional. They gave us options, recommendations, easily replaced the water heater, and took the old one away. The process was so easy with them. We are very happy with their work

The service person arrived within the suggested timeframe. He was polite, courteous, and quickly ascertained the problem, suggested repair route and offered prices of the required parts. I did think the prices for each were a bit high, as he searched a three-ring binder which contained all parts/equipment The work was done efficiently. The problem associated with the burner was solved; both within a reasonable period of time

Original quote of $900+ was developed from a plumber's industry guide book - much too high for this job. A call to Papilia for an adjustment brought the price more in line, yet still high in my opinion foe an hour and a half of work. The work preformed was on time and done to my satisfaction. The pricing issue was handled responsively and professionally.

Mike and his assistant Paul were very professional and completed the jobs to my complete satisfaction.

I thought they were extremely professional, great office support and the person who came out was well prepared to give me information. They also carry great equipment.

Examined, drained and cleaned hot water heating system. Told me what steps to take to prevent problems in the future. In addition, offered a maintenance program, which I bought. They were punctual, efficient, clear, helpful and did not pressure me to purchase the maintenance program.
