Very quick reply. A person came to the house within hours of my call. This was my first experience of 'per job' pricing. When I originally called they would not provide an hourly rate. He provided a quote of $562.25 to install two 4" faucets (I had the faucets). When I asked approximately how long this would take he said two to three hours. That would be $281 or $187/hour. I declined the service. Very expensive for what I saw as an easy job. he thought he could get approval for $500 but I still thought this was to much.

They came around an hour later from the time frame given. The person reviewed and estimated a few projects around the house. The cost for all of them was well above what I expected. I had to go ahead with one of them since I was hooked with a $100 for and 200 worth of plumbing coupon. Job though was performed very well and I was very happy with the results.

Prompt, professional meeting to examine potential work, suggest solution and offer quote. Again, I DID NOT have any services performed, but here is what I found highly problematic and hence deserving a "D" review. PROPOSED SOLUTION - this is why the "D" on professionalism. There was no mention of the fact that you can easily hook up a modern (non-R22) compressor to an older R-22 system using a valve. Given that the phase out of R-22 refrigerant is a huge topic in the industry right now, there's no way a professional would not know the basic options! I feel like I was offered an outdated, ridiculously expensive piece of junk. Had I gone with this option and the system leaked a few years from now, I would have no choice but to scrap the whole thing ($6000 worth) or if I was very lucky at that point, pay something like $2000-3000 JUST for the R-22 refrigerant alone PRICING - Definitely an "F". They came in at about 30-50% HIGHER on pricing than ALL the other quotes I got from well-rated Angie's HVAC contractors. They were definitely at least 50% more expensive than what I eventually paid for a BETTER (i.e more expensive) solution than what was offered by Papalia. I know they push expensive Trane equipment and all, but the option I was offered was definitely the economy-class. Overall, despite the good reviews, Papalia was at no point even a contender for my business (and never will be) given the abovementioned.

They did a good job but I think they were quite expensive. They were pleasant and professional. I'd really have to ding them on the price. Everything else really I was satisfied with. Someone would probably give you a good price on the job they did.

I'm not sure how to compare the quality of the work versus others, but the scheduling was polite and efficient.

I got the Angie's List Big Deal coupon for this company. They were on time, quick and answered all my questions. I'm not sure if their price was fair or not, but it seemed a bit high to me. However, I did not get other quotes, so I really have no idea if the price was good or not. The plumber that did come was very professional and answered all my questions, so I believe that they do quality work.

Price, including deposit, was too high

I I noticed an exposed copper pipe in my basement, transiting from inside the basement to the garage, where it was above the ceiling. I called Papalia at 8am on a Friday morning, expecting to be put on the schedule for the following week, but they were available to come between 11am and 3pm. Mike, the technician from Papalia, arrived just before noon. He was very professional and got right to business. He checked the pipe and made sure there were no other related problems. He described what he needed to do, including cutting a small opening in the garage ceiling to access the other end of the leaky pipe. He described everything he would need to do, and gave me a fixed price on the spot. I agreed and he got right to work. He worked very efficiently and called me periodically to show me what he was doing. All told, the entire visit lasted about 90 minutes. All that's left for me to do is repair the hole cut in the garage ceiling. Although not exactly inexpensive, the work was done right, and I was very satisfied with Mike's professionalism, efficiency, and overall friendliness.

It turned out fine. I bought the coupon and I was waiting for something to break for plumbing but they came and set up my sump pump plumbing. I had to make a couple of calls and they got back and I was running late on using the Big Deal and they managed to schedule me and get me taken care of. They young plumber Rad was very good to work with and he is a nice young gentleman. They were very clean. They put on booties before they come in to the house and Mrs. really appreciates that and it was a nice touch. They do service furnaces so I was enquiring their annual service contract and I will probably get that from them.

We had purchased a big deal for the service. I ended up spending a lot more and I don't think it was any fault of theirs. They replaced my plunger mechanism, and that didn't seem to cure the problem, so they tried something else which didn't work either, so I ended up getting a whole new toilet, which cured the problem. They called when they said they would be coming to tell me that they were coming, they came on time, and they didn't keep me in the dark.The price was more than I expected to pay.

We had been looking for a whole house humidifier and when Angie's List had a coupon for this vendor, we jumped on it. Overall - A - very satisfied with the level of service and price Price - A - from my research, the Angie's List coupon we used for this work ($503) was a great deal. There were no other charges. Quality - A - the installation went smoothly. The tech removed the old defective unit, installed the new unit, verified operation, cleaned up the work area and explained the operation to me. Responsiveness - A - they got back to me and worked with us to schedule the appointment in a timely manner Punctuality - A - they arrived on time and completed the work within the quoted amount of time Professionalism - A - the technician that came to our house was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He answered my questions, showed me what he was doing, and took care to clean up after the work. His assistant was also courteous and attentive - a good helper. I would have this crew do work again in my house without question

They did a good job but, the price was way too high. They didn't come out the first time but they did call and reschedule. They were on time and professional but I will not use them again because the price was too high for the additional work we had them do.

Just bought the house in April and had a few leaks to repair. I called Papalia in May to repair a leak under the kitchen sink. They were very responsive and did a great job, so I called them back to repair under the bathroom sink. Apparently the previous owner did the plumbing himself and is is all wrong. The guys worked for two hours to ensure that the leak was fixed and were very straight forward about the problems they found. They stopped the leak with some patches and gave us a quote to replace the plumbing if it continues to be a problem. I had him check the other bathroom plumbing too and he was very honest in saying it didn't need replaced there. They were very professional and honest about what needed done. No pressure to have it repaired, but straight forward about the problem.

We made an appointment a few weeks ago for an estimate on some water heater work. The woman on the phone was very polite, however today, the day of the appointment, nobody showed up, and nobody called - I waited an hour afterwards to call and check, only to be asked if I wanted to reschedule. If they can't even keep an appointment for an estimate, which would generate revenue for them potentially, no way I'm using them for work on my house. My time off from work to meet them has value, which I respect in others, and I would expect the same in return.

It was excellent. I usually have a gas company do it, but they were better. They also educated me on what i needed and what was not necessary. i will use them every year now

Overall they were responsive and did good work. I think the cost was high. I got the deal on Angies List and even with that savings, I feel the costs were high and I could have gotten a much better deal if I shopped around. I will be more careful looking at companies with A ratings on Angies list and be very skeptical of any "deals".

I bought a $99 deal, worth $200 of work from Papalia Plumbing. When I told the call number that I had a "slow-to-drain" tub, she told me someone would have to come out to give me an estimate and it would cost just under 40 bucks!! I was puzzled that such a simple job required an assessment. And, I was more than a little disappointed that it was going to cost me. She said that this amount would be refunded, if I choose to go ahead with the work. She offered me a slot later in the day, which I took. I was so sure that this would be a fast, simple, low-tech fix, I figured I'd have them clear both my tubs' drains. The guy arrived on time. He stepped into the 1st bathroom, glanced at the tub, stepped into the 2nd bathroom, glanced at the tub and proceeded to point to a line in his book, with the costs in it. $250 for the first tub, and $200 for the second! My husband was absolutely shocked, and told the plumber so!! Now, could the person I spoke to earlier in the day not have looked at the same price log that the plumber looked at ... and told me over the phone that it was going to be 250 bucks for the first drain, and 200 for the 2nd? Since it would appear to be a fixed price? The guy literally glanced at the baths for seconds - there was no careful consideration or assessment of the job. He was in and out of the house in less than five minutes. My husband told him on the spot that he was appalled at the price would NOT be using his services. Angie's List ... please ... in future ... if you are promoting a deal with a company, please declare up front that they do not provide free estimates. I have not gotten any benefit from this deal whatsoever. Quite the opposite .. I am out of pocket! And, by the way, this is the second Angie's List Deal that I have bought where the company is clearly expecting "the coupon" deal to be part of a much bigger job. Not necessarily what a bargain hunter is looking for at all. I'm disappointed with Palagia. I'm disappointed with American Masonry. And, I'm acutely disappointed with Angie's List and her "Deals". I will not be using either of these companies, nor will I be buying any more "deals" from Angie's List.

Nothing. I asked them to come out to quote for a decent sized job (over $1000) and they wanted to charge me a $39 "dispatch fee" just to come out and give a price quote. Very disapointing

It was an unseasonably hot weekend, and the condensate pump for my furnace was making a loud noise; it seemed to have stopped working and the internal alarm system probably tripped the central A/C and kept it from working. I called for the 24/7 service, and they responded very quickly with a service technician. It was ~$120 just to have someone come out for emergency service on a Saturday. When the technician arrived, he quickly determined the pump needed to be replaced; as it was incredibly hot and I had guests staying over, I agreed, even though the price seemed a bit high to me. It ended up being ~$400 (after a $30 Angie's List discount) just to replace a pump that was probably $60-80 in parts, though I could understand companies charging a premium for such quick 24/7 service, especially during the peak summer season when there is a lot of demand. Overall, I was very happy with the speed and quality of the service, even though it was a bit expensive. The new pump is very quiet and seems to be working quite well!

Very good service, have already used them a second time.

Mike A. was the technician who performed the work. He was extremely punctual, polite, clean, and efficient. He completed everything in a very short amount of time, and offered the suggestion of purchasing the bio-clean enzyme (though without being pushy about this). He also offered some helpful advice about a few things in our bathrooms when we asked him.

The service was performed on time and completely successfully.

The technician was great. I'm never sure I understand how the costs get so high on things that are very simple, but all in all a very good experience
