I had 3 new kitchen appliances hooked up - a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a gas range. The plumber was on time, professional and did a good job in a nice time frame. There was a water dispenser hook up for the refrigerator, which required finding the water source and switching it on. Myself being new to the property and not knowing where it was located, the plumber searched until it was found and successfully hooked up the dispenser. Turns out it hadn't been used in the 10 years the previous owners had been there. Even though this took extra time, I was not charged more because the job had been quoted at a price I agreed on and not determined by an hourly wage. My Angie's List coupon knocked $89 dollars off of the quote, which brought the price down to $360 - a price better than another plumber I'd gotten a quote from.

Unfortunately, the gentleman who came to the house was a brand new employee who was quite inexperienced, and, as a result, he ordered the wrong size track for my door which was detected when the owner came out to install it. This caused quite a bit of nuisance to both the owned and myself, as the part had to be reordered. The wait time was relatively lengthy both times as the track had to be customized for my door. The owner seemed to be even more disturbed by this than I was, and he gave me a very generous compensation for the inconvenience. He explained that he let this employee go, and had employed him to try to help him out as he was in need. I could easily empathize with his frustration. I, myself, could not hold a grudge against this company as they did more than enough to make up for the problems, and the work that was ultimately done was superb. They gave me advice on how to maintain my doors properly, and recommended annual lubrication. They also showed me how to lubricate the doors myself if I wished to do it. I would definitely recommend Shamrock Overhead Door, and will use them again myself.

Didn't go well. By the same night it was repaired, the faucet was loose and ready to fall off. I could not tighten it. He came back and found the part to be defective. He replaced it. After he left, I found that it was crooked and I was unable to completely straighten it out. A friend of mine was over a few days later, took it apart, and repaired the installation.

We had bought the house in June and moved in in August. We had several small plumbing issues to take care of. I bought a deal on Angies List and had them come take care of the work. They met my buddy on-site since I was still out of state and did a professional job at a good price.

One of the toilets in my two-family house was leaking. This is a rental unit and is the only toilet in the unit, so I had to get it fixed that day. It was on a Sunday. I called Papalia and they said someone would be over in a couple of hours, and that there was going to be a $155 emergency service fee since it was a Sunday. I was ok with this as I understand the need to pay a premium on off-hours. I received a call about 45 minutes later from Mike, saying he would be there in 15 minutes, so the timing was good. He showed up and I explained the issue to him. He listened, was professional, and broke out the pre-set pricing guide. This is where things went down hill. The cost to "rebuild" the toilet was $410, which involved replacing the inner components in the tank. The wax ring on the bottom of the tank also needed to be replaced. That was another $173. The total bill came to $737 and the work took about 75 minutes. My estimate is that parts were $40-$50. The timing, professionalism, and quality of service was great. However the exorbitant price of the service leads me to give an overall grade of a D. Some people are willing to pay such prices as long as the work is good and they get prompt service. If this was not on a Sunday and I was not in an emergency situation, I would not have agreed to pay $730 for this type of work. Ironically on the back of Papalia invoices is a write-up on how the cost they charge is not just the cost of materials and the labor on the job. It includes expenses associated with their trucks, training for employees, benefits, etc. Isn't this just called overhead, something all businesses have to expense for? In any event, the first thing I did the next day is log onto my Angie's List account and get a list of other plumbers who provide 24 hour service so I am prepared for the next plumbing emergency.

They replaced our old furnace. They were able to come the next day which was very nice as our furnace stopped working. They were very nice, installed drop sheets and did a good job. so far, the new furnace is working very well. The price was very reasonable as well.

It was perfect all of the way through.

I am very impressed with how knowledgeable and professional the service person is. The installation was well done with no mess.

Mike showed up on time (a bit early actually). Very courteous and professional, asked questions of what I had seen and done. He did his thing and fixed our leak (so far :) ). Very happy with the service provided (hope the problem doesn't come back).

It was a more extensive repair than I had anticipated buy they were able to solve the problem.

It was good. Everything went perfectly. I only paid the price of the big deal. He went over what he was doing. He explained it pretty well and he kept me in the loop. They're on time and they're very professional.

Technician came out for humidifier installation and boiler inspection. He told me upon seeing the location that it was not possible to install the humidifier, the pipes would freeze. So we had to cancel that. He conducted the boiler inspection satisfactorily thereafter.

I am not satisfied. After being away this weekend I returned home to find I had no heat. I've called another company to check it out. Clearly the whole purpose of having a furnace check-up is to make sure the unit is operational for the winter. Less than two weeks later I have no heat.

Scott the plumber was on time and very professional. He was extremely helpful and gave good advice. He was easy to have working in the house and very accommodating as we have a puppy. He came back when I thought we still had some problems and promptly sorted them out. A very good service and we will use them again.

Overall experience was very good. The only irritation occured in the beginning. The first appointment with Papalia was for a cost estimate for the faucet replacement. I was given a two or even three hour window in the middle of the day. 15 Minutes before this window ended nobody had shown up and when I called the company they said the employee was delayed a job and could not show up. Another time window had to be found where I could be home for an extended time to wait for a cost estimate. Papalia is more expensive than another company I used for a similar job a few years ago, but with the coupon it was competative. The job was done in a timely manner, the employee very polite and wanted to make sure to leave the customer happy.

Pricing was good since it was one the BIG DEALS. Arrived at the early end of the committed time, which was good. Seemed to do a thorough check of all zones and the boiler. Was neat and very professional. Would certainly use them again for the same work, and will add them to the list of bidders if we decide to install air conditioning.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I used it immediately. I paid an additional $200. I found out afterwards that the cost of the fitting was $14 at a big box store. I wasn't happy. They fixed the problem but the way they approached me and their pricing were pretty bad. First they told me I needed a new garbage disposal and then they told me they didn't know if they could fix it. Before I knew it, they fixed it but it was a couple of hundred dollars. The pricing was ridiculous. They came right out when I called them. I would definitely not use them again.

It was fine. He did a nice job. I don't think there were any additional charges. They came on time, were pleasant and did a good job.

Guys were pleasant enough but their pricing was absurd!!!! Had another licensed plumber disconnect and connect the gas and replace the dryer vent, replace the water shut offs and stabilize the gas pipe for $395

I was able to contact provider and scheduled appointment for furnace check up. As part of initial inspection itself they identified the power is not reaching the pilot due to malfunction in the circuit board which needs replacement. So an estimate was provided and I accepted and they fixed the issue by replacing the control panel with a new one which is not part of the big deal. They did a good job in fixing my panel and make furnace functional.

They came very much on time, and the person who quoted was very nice and knowledgeable. I then recieved the quote which was itemized. The labor cost seemed OK to me, but for 200 feet of PEX tubing i was charged 1100 dollars. A quick online search i foudn this was WAY to much. ALmost an order of magnitude too much. I found a couple places where it would be less then 100, but most places less than 200. SO i emailed the company back and asked if it was OK if they did the labor and i provided the pex tube....no response. I sent a second email, no response. This is what led me to the review. IF i had gotten a response they would have had a different rating. I have little doubt that the work they would have done would have been adequate, but they responded to my RFQ very quickly, but not my two emails on price.

I had called the provider with a complaint of a intermittent noisy toilet. They were nice enough to check with the tech who told me there was nothing to worry about and I could wait to have it fixed. However, the noise became constant and louder so I had to finally insisted that it be looked at and was given an appointment within 3 days. The visit went very well. The Technician arrived on time and was very professional and competent. He diagnosed the problem within seconds and fixed it in a short period of time. No further problems since then.

Mike was ultra professional, listened to me, gave me great advice and did a great job (I watched). The price was steeper than I expected. They don't pass along any discount on the parts. They will let you buy the parts yourself but won't provide their warranty on them. It could be that their prices are on par with others these days. I didn't get pricing from other plumbers this time. (The plumber I had been using developed a habit of not returning calls -- he wasn't cheap either.) I've decided to keep working with Papalia. There's another job I need done that I'm calling to schedule this week.

Brad showed up and introduced himself and asked what the problem was. I showed him the leaking heater and he said he could replace it this evening. We discussed the cost ,including the new shutoff, and i said do it.He was very efficient covering the stepps and entrance way with drop clothes. He then proceeded to do the work. When the job was completed every thing was cleaned up and nothing was out of place. He also removed the old heater. He was such a nice person we invited him to join us for dinner as it was late. We would definitely use them again.
