McCarthy Plastering

Colin and his assistant (spacing out on name) were cool guys. I.felt totally comfortable hanging out with them while they completed my plastering job in about 2 hours or so. I had 3 year old water damage in several spots which they repaired for a reasonable price. I noticed a spot that we had missed and Colin quickly repaired it even though he had plans to go the the Cape after completing my work. He also had a painter come by to give me a quote while they were working. He even turned me on to an Uma Thurman film I'd never seen, Beautiful Girls. They made sure to clean up and leave everything as they found it.

Colin was excellent! I can't say enough - 1) He was responsive to emails and calls (which as we all know, doesn't always happen) 2) He stuck to the schedule (I had a tight window to perform the work: people lined up back to back) 3) He showed up when he said he would and on time (which I respect) 4) Amazing work - master at his craft: ceiling and walls came out great 5) He protected everything with paper and or a tarp (I had hardwood floors in the room - to acclimate) 6) He was a pleasure to talk with. All around - fantastic experience with Colin and I would certainly hire him again @ a drop of a hat!

Mr. McCarthy's company provides reasonable prices, superb workmanship, and is extremely fast. Best of all, they leave your home as clean as they find it.

Colin was available right away. He was quick and professional--and he is a nice guy, so you feel great about having him do the work. We recently purchased a home, and soon after moving in, the hot summer weather revealed to us that the previous owner had kept a cat in the laundry room and allowed it to spray all over the walls and floor. We had to tear out the floor and the bottom two feet of wall, as well as the ceiling in the closet below to remediate. Once the drywall went back in, we called several recommended plasterers who were either too busy to do the job, or showed up hours late just give us an estimate. Colin fit us in to his schedule right away, and called when he was on his way to give us the estimate. His quote was on par with others we had received. Then he came back next day! He was quick, clean, and very professional. He also did a beautiful job creating a smooth transition between the new drywall and the existing drywall (which to be honest, wasn't installed perfectly flush to begin with). I will definitely call Colin again, if I ever need a plasterer.

Colin was incredibly prompt; couldn't believe how quickly we were able to go from estimate to completed work (48 hours). He and Eric did all the areas as requested and showed attention to detail on other spots I hadn't noticed. The blended repair on the swirl pattern was a major concern and it turned out really well. Everything was clean and put back in its place at the end. We had thought about doing the work ourselves, but this just saved us hours of work and bumbling through it and it looks great!

Colin did an excellent job replacing a large section of the drywall in our garage. We were in a rush to get this work done, and Colin worked hard to fit this into his schedule. He did such a great job texturing that we cannot even see where the existing wall was and the new wall starts. He left our garage spotless.

It’s not often I that I write reviews, but Colin and his team are incredibly deserving. We did our due diligence and received multiple quotes based off of reviews from this site. In the end we decided to hire Colin and his team. We couldn’t be happier that we did. He was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was quick to respond to my emails/calls, showed up everyday on time, and completed the project when he said he would. Colin is an honest, hard working guy who’s talents speak for themselves. The finished product looks amazing. A+ all around. I’d highly recommend him and will absolutely be using him again on future projects.

Very well. Very nice outcome. Some minor rough spots around outlets, but overall a beautiful job.

When I called him on Friday afternoon, I came to my house next day Saturday morning 7 o'clock. He took care more spots than I asked for. Then, he came back next day as I asked few questions on his job. The most professional I have seen.

Colin was great to communicate & work with. Colin stopped over provided us a very fair & competitive quote and started 2 weeks later. Colin actually listens to you, shows up and calls you back really nice guy. The final work product is awesome. The blue board went up rather quickly no damaged sheets metal corner bead and the recessed lights and outlets were cut out perfectly. Now to the plaster job - it came out unbelievable it looks like a sheet of ice. The walls, ceiling & soffit boxes all look perfect. Two of the contractors noted it was one of the best jobs that they saw. We have Colin coming back this weekend to do some more work. We highly recommend him

Colin did an amazing job. I was extremely impressed with how meticulous he was when covering all inside areas to prevent dust and plaster residue. They performed flawlessly; an extremely professional job. Price was more than reasonable. I would absolutely use them again. Highly recommend.

His quality of work was excellent and his responsiveness was exceptional, particularly given the timing around the holidays. In fact, Colin had to return to fix an issue introduced by my other contractors (for some reason, they started applying joint compound to the arched ceilings in two bedrooms when it wasn't needed), and showed up the same day I called (12/22) to fix the issue. The greatest concern was patching of my living room ceiling, which had ~4 feet removed, so the patchwork had to blend in seamlessly. There is no visible indication anywhere that would indicate that work was performed, as he plastered over the new drywall perfectly. I would absolutely recommend Colin. His professionalism, quality of work, and flexibility / responsiveness were commendable.

perfectly ! Truly amazing. Colin truly saved my ceilings. In addition, he his extremely meticulous and clean. We're talking about joint compound application and sanding etc. He covered the floors, and wet clean the floors once done. you can't tell that such intrinsically messy job was done, that's how clean he is.

The job was well done and I am very satisfied. The cost was very reasonable as well.

Fantastic. Communication and response perfect, Colin arrived punctually, finished early. Have hired plasterers for more than 35 years in the area and Colin is by far the best one we have ever had the pleasure to hire. Definitely hire again.

Colin was very punctual and a pleasure to work with; price was fair and reasonable. Prompt response for a small issue after plastering. I would definitely recommend Colin and I plan to use him again to install another plaster ceiling. Plaster ceilings are more attractive than drywall in my opinion.
