As always, the staff and electricians at Morrill Electric did an amazing job as well as being professional, yet friendly. I would not hesitate to use them again AND recommend them.

A scheduling nightmare. I was promised a Monday electrical outlet installation which they cancelled and rescheduled for Tuesday. This company doesn't seem to understand that customers actually do have lives, work, and obligations that mean they can't just reschedule at their whim. I accepted the Tuesday appointment and had to make some tricky arrangements to be home at 12:30pm. I got a call from the woman at the company at 1pm saying, so sorry, they had other calls to do and they'd have to come on Wednesday, but she promised they'd be here by 9:30 am. At 10:15 I called when no one had showed up and was told they'd be here within a half hour. At 11:15 she called back to say they'd be here in an hour or so. When I said that this wasn't acceptable her reply was, "Well, we are three weeks out." So why did they schedule me for 3 days ago, then cancel and reschedule, then cancel again? I don't like being jerked around. I canceled and will find some other electrician that wants to take my money.
Description of Work: I needed an electrical outlet installed for a hot tub.

The electricians from Morrill, in an effort to save time, skipped the step of using a camera, and drilled through a sprinkler pipe in the ceiling when they were installing recessed lights. The fire alarm started blaring and in minutes there was water everywhere. Our new condo was flooded with water and destroyed. The place had to be completely renovated and we had to move our family of four into a single hotel room for two months. Morrill had their contractors do the repair (a mistake, in hindsight) and they took nearly 6 months to complete everything off their list. With the exception of the young electrician who was there when they destroyed our home, we never had an apology from them, but they did send us the FULL bill for the recessed lights, as well as a threatening email that we did not process our insurance claim fast enough for them to get their expenses reimbursed. They had zero compassion/understanding for the fact they traumatized two very young kids, disrupted a family for 6 months, and then followed up with harassing emails at a time we were settling back into our home and dealing with major surgery. My husband developed an ulcer after the stress of destruction, renovation, and dealing with their insurance company. Fast forward four years and we are still dealing with the fall out of their work. In 2011 the thermostat to the heated floor had to be repaired and a year after that the electrical into the heating system had to be repaired. In 2014, the electrical to the downstairs bathroom had to be redone. They are at best, incompetent. When people found out what happened to us, they nodded knowingly since the electrician who was at our house has a reputation. Too bad we didn't know all this beforehand!
Description of Work: We hired Morrill Electric in 2009 to add recessed lights to our condo, as well as various other work.

I called them and they came out the same day which was great. They showed up on time and were very professional. They did an excellent job and I would highly recommend using them.
Description of Work: They came out and installed wiring from the basement up to the back splash. They also put in new outlets and installed a mini breaker. They also installed a dimmer switch as well as some other minor work.

The person who coordinates their installers is inconsiderate of other people's schedules. We had some instances of their service people cancelling appointments on the last minute.

Ozzy the owner came out. A woman called to say he was running late, but he arrived 15 mins after he said he would, no complaints. He spent an hour measuring, looking at the site, explaining the best place to locate the generator, etc. Then we talked through my needs to decide how big the generator should be. We landed on a Genrac 8 KW system, powered by natural gas, which would give me enough power to heat the house, run the fridge, run lights in baths, kitchen and garage. Just what we wanted. He also pitched his company, provided literature, talked about maintenance, provided references, etc. Since I live near water, we talked about building a platform to keep the generator off the ground in case of a flood. Exactly what I wanted. He said I would get a quote in the mail and I would have it in less than a week, explained the process of the work order if we were interested, and went on his way. So far so good. Three weeks went by with no communication and nothing in the mail. I was beginning think it was lost in the mail. After three weeks I received a phone call from the office asking for my email. The quote details were fairly generic (deliver the generator, dig the trench, hook up gas line, etc), and explained what we talked about, but did not mention anything about building the platform to keep the generator 2-3 feet off the ground, instead it mentioned it would be placed on a stone dust pad. Hmmm. Seeing it took three weeks to get me the quote, and that they had to call again for my information, I am assuming they lost my information and decided to use a boilerplate template for the quote. Red flag # 1. Red flag #2 - the deal breaker was the cost: $6,800. The exact same generator and associated parts cost ~$2,400 at Lowes or HD. Also note I was only asking for the generator to be located 8 feet from the house and gas line, it was not as if they had to dig a trench around the house. Overall I did not use them, and will wait for the Spring to get additional quotes.
Description of Work: Contacted Merrill for an estimate on a Genrac Standby 8 kw Natural Gas generator. The quote was $6,800, which which included everything from delivery to gas and electric hook up. I did not use this contractor because the price seemed outrageous, and it took them over three weeks to send me a quote, which was not complectly accurate.

Called Morrill Electric and they scheduled an appointment for 2 weeks out for a standby generator site evaluation with Ozzy. Four days before appt they called to say he could not make it. Ok, fine, it happens. He would have to reschedule to the following week. The appointment was rescheduled for the following Monday. The morning of the appt (which was scheduled for 1 pm) his staff calls to tell me his flight is "delayed out of Dallas" and he won't be able to make appt. this afternoon. Before I say anything, she immediately tells me that "we don't want to lose your business but if you want to go elsewhere we understand." Easy for her to say- I just wasted 3 weeks waiting for nothing. I told her it would be fine if he came later in the day, even into the early evening today. If that didn't work I asked about the possibility of him coming early the following morning. She said 'I'll check and call you back.' No call back received. I don't believe he had a delayed flight. In any event, when you cancel twice on a customer, the onus is on you, the contractor, to make some accomodations to set things right. I was as flexible as possible. They did nothing to accomodate me. Terrible. I am giving a D instead of an F because they at least had the courtesy to call me and cancel on me both times, rather than just not showing up. However, they need to get their act together and be more respectful of their customer's time. Stay away from this guy unless you don't mind wasting your time.

I was very pleased with Morrill Electric. They were very considerate and even wore shoe-covers when inside. I was comfortable with them working inside even if I wasn't home. They did a great job and a great job cleaning up once they finished.
Description of Work: I had my entire home re-wired by them.
