Horrible! They cut my slab wrong so many times they tried to install another color and kept telling me it was mine. If I would not have caught it, they would have installed two different slabs on my kitchen backsplash. They tried saying the cabinets weren't in when they measured, then they said we never had enough material. After I had to purchase another slab and got someone else to install they text me and said they found the rest of my slab. Three weeks after they said there wasn't enough! I requested a refund for the cost of one slab. I will see them in court. In the pictures below the blue tape reflects where the cuts should have been made!

When the job was completed, the stone was not level. A marble placed on the countertop rolled significantly. A level placed on the countertop indicated it was not level. In addition there was a 3 foot crack on another countertop. I contacted Gary, Sr. again and he came to the job site. He said that the level (this was the first time they used a level!) was and quot;in the bubble.and quot; He maintained that it was up to his standards. He yelled at me and said he had a good mind to and quot;eat the marbleand quot; he was to install in our master bathroom. He slammed the door of my house and sped off in his truck. I waited 2 days and called back. (July 11 or 12). I left a message. I called back again on July 15 and spoke with Gary, Jr who had not been to the jobsite to see the granite installation. I asked him when someone would fix it. He said maybe tomorrow, Monday, or Tuesday. I called back on July 16 and spoke with CJ to ask him a definite date as to when someone was coming to fix it. He said he would get someone to call. No one called for several more days. At this point I had sold my other home and needed to close on this house. The granite was holding up the completion of the rest of the kitchen. I had no working kitchen at this point and very unlevel cabinets. I then contacted 2 more granite companies to come look at the job. At this point I was under the impression that American Granite was not interested in completing the bathroom project (due to Gary, Sr. statement) and that they considered the kitchen finished (due to Gary, Sr. statement). After receiving a report (I have in writing) that the granite installed by American Granite was substandard (not level, broken in 2 places, cracked in another place, and poorly fabricated) , I decided I did not want the company back in my house EVER. CJ then called on July 23 (he personally had still not seen the granite installed) and stated that someone (did not specify who) would be there the next day to fix it, but needed my carpenter there to shave down the high spots on the cabinet. I explained it was too short of notice to get a carpenter out there, and that I was never told the cabinets needed carpentry work. It was now 2 weeks post installation. I hired another company to repair the job and install the bathroom marble. Gary, Sr. then called and left a message on July 24. I called him back the next day. I told him the installation was unacceptable due to the broken stone near the sink, the 3 foot long crack, the fact it was not level, and the poor fabrication. I also stated that I had received very poor treatment from both he and Justin, and that his statement that he would and quot;eat the bathroom joband quot; and his slamming the door and speeding off, and the fact my phone calls were not returned in a timely manner, resulted in me no longer wanting his services and that I did not trust his company to attempt to repair the stone. When the new company attempted to repair the stone, it was noted that because it was so off level and that the stone was already broken in 2 places, that to shim it would cause more damage. The 3 foot long crack was not repairable. I decided at that time to have the granite removed and replaced by new stone. I contacted Gary, Sr to give him an opportunity to remove the granite and take it back and refund my money. The next day he entered my house without knocking and came in and took pictures. He then left. I contacted him one more time to give him an opportunity to remove the stone and he refused. That stone has been stored in my garage since that time. (6 months). He did not pick it up nor did he refund my money. Their website states that American Granite and quot;ensures that the countertop is installed on a strong, level surface. If the existing plane is not level enough, metal rods or plywood may need to be added.and quot; That statement was never honored by American Granite. I still want American Granite to pick up the stone and refund my money. I plan to file a complaint with the office of the Attorney General under the consumer protection laws of Louisiana.
The other company removed the poorly installed and fabricated granite, and fabricated and installed new granite within 4 days of me picking it out! They did an awesome job after explaining to us what needed to be done to make the cabinets level.

As a woman I frequently find contractors resentful of feminine inquiries. That is NOT true of American Granite.
Gary is very polite over the phone; always helpful and willing to answer questions. The 1st time I called, they were about to close on Friday afternoon. Gary told me how to get to one of his granite wholesalers, so I could shop that Saturday, even though they were closed. I gave them a square foot ballpark and Gary gave me the estimate over the phone and in an email the next day. American Granite was not only the lowest estimate of six (6), they were by far the most helpful. Amer Gran came highly recommended by a co-worker who recently had her bathroom counter replaced.
Because I work long hours, C.J. was willing to come measure at my house on the weekend.
The installers were at my house early instead of late. All three (3) were polite, courteous, professional, careful, and quick. They never minded answering my questions. One of the men even took the time to text Gary, in order to be assured of accurate info. They were also careful of my newly painted walls and quick to clean up as they worked. These men all worked well together w/ a cheerful attitude and no foul language. The whole job only took them 2 hours, including 2 cut-outs for stove and sink.
I believe this is a locally owned company w/true Southern values. Customer service and quality craftmanship are front and center. My kitchen countertops are beautiful!!!
I'm considering Amer Gran for another job in my bathroom now. I doubt I will bother w/other estimates next time.
a satisfied customer,
Mary

They went beyond what I expected to get it fixed. They are very nice and they stand behind their work.
